Bai Xia looked at the emcee on the stage. The emcee looked even more excited than the winners. After the winners' performances, it was time to announce the Best Actress Award.
"Then let's take a look. The nominees for this year's Best Actress Award are —"
The female emcee looked up at the big screen.
The screen began to show clips of the nominees and their works. Lin Qingge was the first, followed by Bai Xia and a few other foreign actresses.
Everyone was staring at the stage nervously.
They were all looking forward to the results and who would win the award in the end.
Bai Xia also raised his head to look at the stage, feeling a little nervous and excited.
She hoped that it would be hers, but she was also afraid that it wouldn't be hers.
Not far away, Lin Qingge looked at the stage with a smug look on her face. Her eyes were full of confidence.
Of course this award was hers. It had to be hers.
She glanced at Bai Xia. When she saw Bai Xia's nervous and expectant face, she couldn't help but laugh. What was the use of looking forward to it? It wouldn't be hers in the end!
She then looked at the other actresses who had been nominated. They all had the same look on their faces. They were nervous and looking forward to it.
Lin Qingge looked calm.
She waited for her name to ring in her ears.
She muttered softly, "What are these two emcees doing? What kind of nonsense are they playing? Hurry up and announce your name!"
After waiting for so long, she had finally been nominated and become the first Best Actress in China. She couldn't wait any longer.
As long as she was on that stage, all the glory would belong to her.
As for Bai Xia, so what if she was dressed exactly like her? So what if she was beautiful? She still couldn't compare to her. She was the Best Actress and she was the only one who had the right to stand here!
Bai Xia was nervous and expectant. She subconsciously looked in Lin Qingge's direction.
Only then did she realize that Lin Qingge was also looking at her.
Lin Qingge gave her a provocative smile. Her eyes seemed to be saying that this award was not meant for her.
Finally, the emcee on the stage began to announce, "Tonight's Best Actress Award is — We are going to announce it now. Everyone, please be quiet and listen carefully. See if it's your name!"
There was an uproar below the stage.
Then it became quiet again.
Everyone waited in silence.
Bai Xia was also looking at the stage.
"Tonight's Best Actress is —"
Before she could announce her name, Lin Qingge had already stood up in excitement. She waved at the people around her, as if she had already heard her name.
"Bai Xia!
Hua Xia actress, Bai Xia!
Congratulations to Bai Xia for winning the Best Actress Award! "
The host announced the name.
Lin Qingge just stood there. The smile on her face was still hanging, but it started to stiffen bit by bit.
Wasn't it her?
Wait, did she just hear Bai Xia's name?
That wasn't right. It was supposed to be hers. She had already discussed it with the judges!
How could it not be her?
Was she hallucinating?
The spotlight shone on Lin Qingge. Everyone turned their heads and saw Lin Qingge standing up. She still had a proud smile on her face, as if she was the one who had won the prize.
Although many foreigners might not know Lin Qingge, everyone basically knew who Bai Xia was.
Suddenly, someone asked curiously, "That person isn't Bai Xia, is she?"
"What is she standing there for?
Don't tell me she thinks she has won the award? "
