Shangguan Yu wasn't trying to stir up trouble, but to unify the empire and stabilize the region!
She didn't have the grand ambition to unify the 7 Heavens, and she wasn't willing to take the initiative to stir up trouble!
She only knew that if she didn't take down the Divine Wind Empire, the Linfeng Empire would always be a fragrant steamed bun, and the war would never end!
She didn't think too much about other things, including what would happen after unifying the 7 Heavens. She only needed the Linfeng Empire to be peaceful and that was enough!
"General, this is too damn satisfying. After defending for so many years, we can finally take the initiative to attack that damned Divine Wind Empire!
This subordinate requests to go to war!
Take down Wind Cloud City! "
Xiong Ba knelt on one knee and cupped his fist as he pleaded!
Wind Cloud City was the closest city to the Linfeng Empire in the Divine Wind Empire. It was similar to Tianfeng City's position in the Linfeng Empire.
"There's no hurry to attack. A starving camel is still bigger than a horse. Although the Divine Wind Empire had suffered heavy losses, their military strength is still sufficient. In addition, in order to attack the Linfeng Empire, they had gathered a large amount of military strength near Wind Cloud City. Their defensive strength will be very sufficient."
Shangguan Yu slowly paced and said.
"Then we …"
Shangguan Yu then pointed at the map.
"Do you still remember what I told you before, where are the key points of Wind Cloud City?"
They nodded, "Of course, we remember. Wind Cloud City is exposed on three sides. It's the opposite of our Tianfeng City. It's easy to attack but hard to defend. Because our Linfeng Empire has always been in a passive defensive position, we don't have the qualifications to attack them. Therefore, we can't attack such an easy city."
Then Zhang You said, "Therefore, we will split into three and attack Wind Cloud City from three sides. Is that right?"
Shangguan Yu revealed a mysterious smile.
"Pass down my order, gather the three armies!"
"Yes!"
They revealed an excited expression!
After being cowardly for so many years, it was finally time to counterattack!
… …
"General, it's not good!
The frontline received news that the Linfeng Empire's Tianfeng City has already gathered the three armies! "
"What!?"
The general who was guarding Wind Cloud City revealed a shocked expression when he heard this!
"Gather all, 4.5 million soldiers!!"
He kept pacing back and forth!
At the side, the military advisor said, "Now, Shangguan Yu doesn't have to worry about other forces attacking them because no one dares to. That's why she dares to take out 4.5 million troops."
"Four million and five hundred thousand, and Wind Cloud City only has three million defenders …"
The Great General pondered for a moment.
"We will lose this battle!
He definitely could not fight this battle. If he fought, his vitality would be greatly damaged!
Why don't we conserve our troops and retreat to Jiuan City? "
The Great General gritted his teeth!
"Damn it!
Damn it! "
Most importantly, even if they took out 2.5 million or 3 million troops, he would still dare to fight because they were on the defensive side. However, Shangguan Yu actually took out all 4.5 million troops!
He really couldn't fight!
Even if they were on the defensive, they would still lose without a doubt!
Moreover, they would suffer heavy losses because Wind Cloud City wasn't an easy city to defend. They had the advantage of being a defender, but because of this reason, this advantage wasn't large enough!
However, if an army of three million came to attack them, he was confident that he could defend and cause Shangguan Yu's troops to suffer heavy losses!
Four and a half million? No way!
He could only retreat!
"I'll contact His Majesty!"
Then, he contacted the Divine Wind Emperor.
"Your Majesty!
Wind Cloud City's Shangguan Yu has gathered three armies of 4.5 million troops and is preparing to attack Wind Cloud City. She doesn't have to worry about emptying the city because no other forces will attack her at this time. We also don't have a chance. Wind Cloud City only has three million defenders. This subordinate requests for reinforcements! "
The Divine Wind Emperor stood up.
"How much reinforcements can you defend?"
"Two million!"
"Two million?
As a defender, you only have the confidence to defend 4.5 million with five million? "
"Your Majesty, that Shangguan Yu is indeed not simple. Moreover, under normal circumstances, she wouldn't have any worries if she sent out 4.5 million troops!"
The Divine Wind Emperor said angrily, "If she dares to send out all her troops, can't you just send an army to occupy her Wind Cloud City?"
"Your Majesty!
Even if we take over Wind City, after she takes over Wind Cloud City, she can attack us from both sides. We won't be able to defend Wind City!
Unless Your Majesty can give us more troops, we can defend Wind Cloud City while Your Majesty's troops take down her Wind Cloud City!
But … "
The Great General said, "It's a military taboo to send an entire army out to battle. It's impossible for Shangguan Yu to not know this. I'm afraid she has already guessed that we might attack her Wind Cloud City. She might have set up an ambush there. If there's another army there, our Wind Cloud City won't be able to take it down. Moreover, there's a person who can summon wind and rain.
"Then what do you think we should do?"
"In my opinion, there are two ways. First, send reinforcements to defend Wind Cloud City!
Second, abandon the city! "
"Abandon the city?
Give it up just like that? "
"Your Majesty, Wind Cloud City is exposed on three sides. If we insist on defending Wind Cloud City, even if we can defend it, our losses will be disastrous. A city is not worth the loss!"
The Divine Wind Emperor sighed.
"That's true. Moreover, if we continue to send troops to defend Wind Cloud City, the Heavenly Fire Empire might send troops to attack our territory!
His Linfeng Empire doesn't have this worry because of one person's existence!
Bastard! "
The Divine Wind Emperor cursed angrily.
"Abandon the city!"
"Yes!"
…
"Great General, Great General!
The Divine Wind Empire's army in Wind Cloud City has all retreated. They have all retreated to Jiuan City! "
Xiong Ba ran over and shouted excitedly.
Shangguan Yu wasn't surprised.
"Xiong Ba, take an army and station them in Wind Cloud City!"
"Yes!"
"The rest of the army, let them rest."
Then, Zhang You cupped his fist towards Shangguan Yu. "General Shangguan's foresight is godly!"
"Oh?"
Shangguan Yu glanced at him.
"This subordinate was just thinking that if we were to gather the three armies, our Tianfeng City would be an empty city. If we were to attack like this, even if the other forces don't dare to attack us, it wouldn't be good if the Divine Wind Empire took over. It turns out that General didn't intend to attack Wind Cloud City from the start. Instead, you purposely gave the order to gather the three armies. You had already expected that they would abandon the city and flee!"
Shangguan Yu nodded. "Wind Cloud City isn't worth it for them to defend. The loss outweighs the gain. If I were to only gather three million troops to attack, they would defend to the death. However, if I were to show them and gather the entire army, they would retreat!"
Ye Tianyi: "…"
Ye Tianyi, who was strolling at the side, was secretly shocked when he heard this.
Oh my god!
With just one order, he had taken back a city without expending a single soldier's strength!
Too ruthless.
