"Just in time, captain. I have something to report to you."
As soon as the call was connected, Meng Xiaotong couldn't wait to speak.
"… Go ahead." Lin Zhenyi's cold voice came from the other end.
"I met Chie's' Hundredweight 'level officer tonight."
Meng Xiaotong told her the whole story and said, "That person is quite interesting, but unfortunately, he rejected my invitation."
"From what you said, he should be close to the peak of Silver. For a lone Transcended to reach this level without joining any organization, his potential is not bad. But since he doesn't want to join, then forget it."
"Let's put this aside for now. This time, I'm contacting you for another important matter."
"What is it?" Meng Xiaotong heard the seriousness in Lin Zhenyi's voice and her expression suddenly froze.
"The Apostle Conference has decided to launch a general attack on Chie in two days. At that time, all four of us Team Apostles will be mobilized."
"Are we going to attack?"
Meng Xiaotong couldn't help but exclaim as her eyes sparkled with excitement.
"Then I have to go back as soon as possible!"
"No, you stay in Linyang City."
Meng Xiaotong was stunned. "Why?"
"Someone needs to stay behind."
"Eh, then why me?
And we don't have a stronghold in Linyang City, what's the point of staying behind? "
"Originally, it wasn't necessary, but Senator Yu from the upper house just arrived in Huaiping City the day before yesterday."
Meng Xiaotong gasped. Huaiping City happened to be right next to Linyang City and was only separated from Chie's territory by Linyang City.
After a moment of silence, she frowned and said, "Chie's people shouldn't be so crazy as to attack a senator from the upper house. If they do, the Special Management Committee will be the first to come after them."
"Under normal circumstances, that's the case. But what if the organization is about to be destroyed?
To them, Qianchong is nothing more than a chess piece. If we can exchange for the life of one of the councilors who supports us before we are destroyed and weaken our influence in the House of Representatives, it will be the best use of everything. We cannot take this risk.
Meng Xiaotong's expression turned bitter. "So you left me here."
Lin Zhenyi said calmly, "We have sent more people to Huaiping City. But just in case, we decided to let you stay in Linyang. That's the place Chie must pass by on his way to Huaiping. If you can find them in time and nip the threat in the bud, that would be the best."
"Sigh, this kind of mission where we have to wait for the enemy to show up is the most boring."
"Stop complaining. I've asked Cheng Chun to help you. He's already on his way to Lin Yang City."
"Okay, but captain, if the war is not over by the time that councilman leaves Huaiping City, remember to transfer me to the front line."
"Okay," Lin Zhenyi said succinctly. "Be careful."
.....
They were separated by thousands of miles.
In a city in the west of the Mauritanian Empire, in a classical and quiet courtyard.
The spacious and bright study was quiet. Only the slight sound of pages turning could be heard from time to time.
Mu Gang sat behind the desk, looking at the document in his hand intently.
Suddenly, his eyes focused, and he stopped turning the pages. He stared at a line of black text on the page thoughtfully.
"10 of Diamonds and 10 of Clubs lost contact. The last place they appeared was in Lin Yang City of the White Crown Federation. The reason has not been found yet."
"Lin Yang City?" Mu Gang's eyes moved and looked at the deputy standing beside the desk.
The latter understood and immediately replied, "Lin Yang City is a rural city in the east of the White Crown Federation."
"You mean to say that two Level-9 Transcendents actually disappeared without a trace in a rural city, and you couldn't find any clues?"
As soon as he said this, the atmosphere in the study suddenly became tense. Mu Gang narrowed his eyes slightly, and his body naturally exuded a heavy and suffocating sense of oppression.
The deputy's forehead was sweating, but he didn't dare to wipe it away. He hurriedly replied, "I've already sent the nearest members to Lin Yang City to investigate."
"Who did you send?"
"7 of Hearts and 8 of Diamonds."
Mu Gang pondered for a moment. 7 of Hearts was a hound shapeshifting ability user, and it was also a blood-seeking hound that was best at tracking. It also had Silver-level combat power, and with a Silver-level 8 of Diamonds, this combination was enough.
"They've already left?"
"Yes, I just left Mingfeng City this morning on the earliest train. I should be able to arrive in two days."
Mu Gang nodded and said lightly, "Pay close attention to the situation in Lin Yang City. Maybe the disappearance of 10 of Diamonds and 10 of Clubs was done by Empty Fist. Even if it wasn't, we have to find out who dared to make a move on us!"
"Yes, sir!"
.....
Back home, Lin Lichuan couldn't help but feel a little regretful. If it wasn't for the lack of strengthening points, he would've exchanged surveillance bacteria and placed it on Meng Xiaotong.
Nocturne and Chie were old rivals. If he monitored Meng Xiaotong, he might be able to get some valuable information.
"Even so, it's still unknown if surveillance bacteria will work on Silver-level Transcendents."
Lin Lichuan shook his head and opened the Grim Reaper's personal interface.
Name: Lin Lichuan
Spiritual Pressure: Lv4 (03000)
Kendo: Lv4 (0800)
Bai Da: Lv 2 (0/100)
Kido: Lv 3 (01200)
Shunpo: Locked
Zanpakuto: Heaven's Wrath, Gray Cat
Spar: 5
Strengthening Points: 9
Looking at the spar, Lin Lichuan's face couldn't help but show a hint of joy.
Although he was ambushed by Chie, in the end, he was more scared than hurt, and he also got 5 spar, which was half of the requirement for the third card draw.
Logically speaking, he should spend the spar to upgrade his VIP level at this time to increase the speed of strengthening points growth. But the requirement of 100 spar was too much, and he didn't know how long it would take to get it, so he could only use it to draw Zanpakuto first.
The Zanpakuto's effect on strength was very obvious, and what was more valuable was that it had a wide variety of abilities, and it could deal with different situations. Just like tonight's battle with Qian Chong, if he only had one Zanpakuto, he might not be able to kill the enemy in one hit.
And if he didn't kill the enemy, he would lose most of his Spiritual Pressure, and the following battle would inevitably be more difficult, and there would be more variables. In the end, it was still uncertain if he could be as safe as now.
"Let's wait until I find a stable way to obtain meteorites, then I'll upgrade my VIP level."
With a plan in mind, Lin Lichuan withdrew his thoughts from the personal interface and turned to another thing.
Tonight's attack gave him a wake-up call.
Even if Qian Chong didn't know his true identity, he still had a way to deal with him. It wasn't a good idea to just deal with whatever came his way. Perhaps he should find a way to take the initiative to attack.
Not to mention whether or not he could destroy Chie's organization, he should at least hurt them enough that they wouldn't dare to send people to deal with him for the time being.
And as long as he could survive this period, when he developed, wouldn't Chie be at his mercy?
