Am I the Devil - Chapter59

Pennister looked up at the huge ship that had never appeared in Hillard before.

"Tsk, the Rose Family sure is rich. This ship is at least of the Siren class, right?

Its defenses are almost comparable to some of the Dragon-class ships. "

The classification of ships was only introduced after the First Year of the Dragon. The lowest class, the Puppy class, could not travel long distances and could only carry three to four people.

The Beast class was an enhanced version of the Puppy class. It was equipped with a certain level of defense, but it still could not travel long distances.

Only ships of the Demonic class and above had the ability to travel long distances.

As for the Sea Monster class ships, only extremely wealthy merchants or nobles could own them.

As for the Siren and Dragon-class ships, ordinary people might not even see one in their lifetime.

"This is the Rose."

Boyka's eyes were filled with pride. "Father hired the best craftsmen and spent a year to build it."

"It's worth it, especially in the First Year of the Dragon, isn't it?"

"Yes."

In fact, Boyka could have sailed the Rose directly into the Endless Sea of Stars without having to go through Hillard. He was only here for Pennister. As for his ultimate goal, only he knew.

Under Boyka's lead, the group boarded The Rose.

Pennister stroked the well-polished Fairy Thorns staircase and said, "Tsk tsk, I heard that the Rose family has a good relationship with the Forest Fairies. Looks like it's true. I'm afraid even the imperial family doesn't have many Fairy Thorns of this grade."

Boyka chuckled. "Mr. Pennister likes to joke. How can the Rose Family compare to the imperial family?"

Pennister shrugged. "Are you nobles all so sensitive?"

Boyka's every word and action revealed the demeanor of a noble. His words were airtight, making it difficult for others to find fault with him. This was one of the reasons why the Rose Family could survive in the Empire.

The Rose was huge. After all, it was a Siren class ship. The ship's facilities were very complete. The division of the ship was very clear. The living and entertainment areas were in the middle, while the ship was surrounded by a military zone.

Ordinary people were not allowed to enter the military zone. Pennister glanced at the patrolling satellite on the deck. It was the famous Bloody Rose Army.

These soldiers were the best of the best. It could be said that half of the Rose Family's current status was due to them. The Bloody Rose Army was also a thorn in the heart of the Federation.

"If you're telling me this is just for sightseeing at Ford Island, I'm going to look down on you," Pennister said to Boyka as they entered the cabin.

Boyka smiled noncommittally. "The family rules are rather strict. We have to find a way out."

Pennister looked at Boyka in surprise. "Then your old man … Oh, Grand Duke Rose, won't he be worried to death?"

When he mentioned the old man, Pennister noticed that there was something wrong with the way the Bloody Rose Army looked at him, so he immediately changed his words.

Entering the living and entertainment area of the cabin, it was as if they had entered another world. The atmosphere was lively and peaceful. The young masters and young ladies of the nobility were chatting and laughing. Many of the crew members were drinking and chatting.

Boyka sighed. "Leaving them behind when we reach Ford Island, you know that's an excuse."

Pennister raised an eyebrow, indicating that he understood. If not for the excuse of a coming-of-age ceremony, Boyka would not have taken the Rose out of the cabin so easily. Grand Duke Rose was known for his protective nature. He would definitely not let his son take such a huge risk.

"Boyka!"

"The main character is here!"

"Come, come, come. Let's drink. This is your first time out at sea. Let me tell you, the scenery at Ford Island is amazing."

"Boyka … Shall we go to the beach together?"

Boyka had a headache, but he still maintained his smile. "You guys go ahead. I still have to make arrangements and introduce Mr. Pennister."

"Eh?

You can just let the servants do that! "

"That's right."

Boyka frowned and glanced at the two nobles who were talking. The two immediately shut their mouths. The sudden pressure made it difficult for them to breathe.

Boyka then smiled again. The two nobles relaxed and hurriedly took a few deep breaths.

"You are all honored guests. Of course, I have to make the arrangements myself. Mr. Pennister, please follow me."

Pennister shook his head. The peaceful environment of the First Era of the Dragon had made the nobles lose their sense of crisis. Only the old, iron-blooded nobles like the Rose Family could raise decent descendants.

Boyka brought Pennister to a room and introduced him to the Rose.

"The Rose's defenses can definitely support a large-scale naval battle," Pennister commented.

Boyka nodded in agreement. "But father didn't leave a single magic core. After all, I'm just going out to sea for 'fun'."

Defenses required magic cores to provide kinetic energy or magicians to inject mana. Otherwise, they would just be decorations.

After walking around the residential area, Pennister saw a stumbling figure when he passed by the main control room.

"It's a storm … The Rose should be able to withstand it, right?"

"Edward?"

Pennister greeted him when he heard the man mumbling to himself. He was also an old acquaintance.

"Pennister?" Edward had two dark circles under his eyes. He scratched his messy blonde hair. "Why are you here?

And Mr. Boyka. "

Pennister glanced at Edward and then at Boyka. He sighed. "The old witch said you were in Hillard. I was wondering why I couldn't find you in Hillard. So you're here."

"Hehe. Mr. Boyka invited me to be his navigator."

Pennister glanced at Boyka. "It must have cost a lot, right?"

"Ahem," Edward coughed.

Edward said righteously, "This is the Rose, a Siren class ship. It has nothing to do with money."

"Tsk," Pennister said in disdain. "Do you think I don't know you?

Besides, Boyka invited you here. You're probably going to challenge the stone matrix, right? "

Pennister had broken through the Death Circle six times, and Edward Norton had played a big part in that. He was a great navigator.

"I knew I couldn't fool you, Mr. Pennister," Boyka said with a smile. "By the way, Edward, what's the storm you mentioned?"

"Oh, right. I almost forgot about it."

Edward took out a route map. "Look, we've just set off from Hillard. At this speed, we'll soon reach the Platinum Dead Waters. According to my prediction, the Rose will encounter a storm when we reach the Platinum Dead Waters."

Pennister frowned. "The Platinum Dead Waters?

Since you're here for Edward, it means we can't avoid it … "

"That's right."

Edward drew a circle on the route map. "This storm will last for a long time. We have to force our way through. Otherwise, we'll have to wait until the next tide …"

"It's fine," Boyka said confidently.

Boyka said confidently, "We have the Rose, plus Mr. Edward and Mr. Pennister. A mere storm is nothing."
