Blackstone Cipher - Chapter30

"Mom!"

The door of the ward was suddenly pushed open by a young man, and Mrs. Michael immediately sat up. The young man walked over to her and gave her a hug with a hint of concern and fear on his face.

He had met the police early in the morning, and they told him about the attack on his mother the night before. Fortunately, their community security had arrived in time, and the culprit had been scared away before he had a chance to harm Mrs. Michael.

After a night of rest, Mrs. Michael had already calmed down, and she described the appearance of the culprit. The police had already determined that the crime was committed by an acquaintance, so they thought that Little Michael might have some clues, such as whether he had seen the culprit before.

With that in mind, and the fact that he had to inform his family, Little Michael left school early in the morning and rushed over.

At this moment, the expression on his face had disappeared, and it was replaced by an angry and menacing expression. "I'll find that person, I swear!"

Mrs. Michael clearly didn't want to be involved in the crime. She held Little Michael's hand and stroked his soft golden brown hair. He had inherited his hair color from Michael, and it looked brownish yellow in places where there was no light.

However, in places where there was strong light, the brownish yellow would turn into golden brown, and it was very beautiful.

"The police are more professional than you; we should trust them. Look, I'm fine, and I don't want anything to happen to you!"

Mrs. Michael squeezed Little Michael's hand, and said, "I'm fine now, don't get involved in this!"

She still remembered the weapon in the man's hand, as well as his brutality. She didn't want her child to become the next victim, but sometimes, children didn't listen to their parents, especially Little Michael, who was only 16 or 17 years old.

They felt that they had the intelligence and experience of an adult with a body that was almost the same as an adult's. They often wanted more respect, but they always screwed everything up.

In this cycle, they also wanted to prove that they had matured and grown up, and didn't need to be controlled by their parents anymore. As such, they would do things that their parents didn't want them to do to prove that their parents weren't always right.

Little Michael comforted his mother, and promised that he wouldn't pursue the culprit. At the same time, he also agreed to Mrs. Michael's request to not tell Michael about the incident for the time being.

After all, he was still on a business trip, and it was said that there were some dangers. If this incident affected him and caused some irreversible consequences, then Mrs. Michael would never be at ease. That was exactly what Little Michael wanted to say.

He wanted to settle this matter before Michael returned and let them know that he had grown up and that there was no need to continue restraining himself.

After meeting his mother, little Michael was invited to the police station by the police. They also took out the wanted poster that the police were printing and showed it to him.

"Have you seen this man before?"

The sheriff in charge of this case held a cup of coffee in one hand and pointed at the arrest warrant on the blackboard.

Usually, a case like this would not be supervised by a sheriff, but Michael was a person with a "license plate" and was a public servant. When such a family was violated, the handling of the case would go beyond the norms. It was also a message to the outside world and the Federation Tax Bureau that they were very concerned about this case. It would deter potential criminal behavior and protect their own interests at the same time.

Little Michael looked at the wanted poster on the blackboard and frowned. He didn't know this guy at all. The contact between the masthead and Michael had always been very secretive. Besides, there were other things besides this incident itself. Neither the masthead nor Michael would let people know about their relationship too openly, let alone let Little Michael participate in it.

Although he didn't know this person, it didn't stop him from showing a contemplative look. The sheriff didn't disturb him. After waiting for about four or five minutes, little Michael shook his head. "He looks a little familiar, but I can't remember where I've seen him."

The sheriff nodded noncommittally, and asked a few other questions. Just as he was about to send little Michael away, little Michael suddenly asked, "Can I take this with me? Maybe I'll remember when."

He pointed at the wanted poster on the blackboard.

The Saibin Police Department had printed hundreds of copies of this thing, and they were going to distribute it to all police stations in the state and Federation level police agencies. It didn't matter if there were one more or one less.

The sheriff nodded. He put down the coffee cup in his hand, tore off the arrest warrant, and placed it in little Michael's hand. He then said earnestly, "If you remember anything, don't be reckless. Call me as soon as possible!"

After that, he took out his business card and stuffed it into little Michael's hand.

The latter nodded repeatedly, and after repeatedly promising that he would call the sheriff as soon as possible, the sheriff watched him leave.

Looking at little Michael driving the Bison 239 and disappearing into the traffic, the sheriff couldn't help but tease his colleague next to him, "Look, the tax bureau is rich. Even a child can afford a Bison 239, and I'm still driving an old car."

In the Bailey Federation, as long as one was over five feet tall and over 15 years old, one could apply for a driver's license. These two conditions were necessary. The former was to ensure that the driver could step on the pedals, and the latter was to take into account the applicant's living and handling ability.

The sheriff's colleague smiled and didn't say anything else. Everyone knew what kind of people the Federation Tax Bureau was.

It was impossible for them to hand over all the fines they collected every year. They would always withhold the money and divide it up for various reasons. Besides, Michael was the leader of the investigation team, so he belonged to the management. That was normal.

Little Michael didn't take these people's words to heart. He was now filled with a sense of mission. He had to do something big to show his mother and father. At the same time, he had to show the bastard who almost hurt his mother how powerful he was.

About 20 minutes after the car merged into the traffic, it stopped outside a nightclub called Kimberly. This nightclub was quite famous in Saibin, and it had a head office behind it. There were almost 80 chain stores in the Bailey Federation.

Many people who didn't want to dirty themselves were willing to spend money here. Coupled with Kimberly's background, it was not only safe here, but it also showed the status of the guests.

During the day, Kimberly wasn't as lively as it was at night. When Little Michael entered the hall, there were only a few cleaners cleaning the place. The bartender was checking the inventory and adjusting the various reserves.

The sound of footsteps made the bartender turn around to take a look, but he quickly averted his gaze. He knew Michael Jr., a young man who only had a little bit of power in Saibin. His power did not come from him, but from his father.

Little Michael strode to the bar counter, took out the wanted poster, and slammed it on the counter. He poked the counter with his finger, making a banging sound. Only then did the bartender turn around and look at him.

"I want to find this person …"

The bartender lowered his head and glanced at the wanted poster. His eyelids were half-closed as he said, "Then you'll have to go to the police station. We don't have that service here."

Little Michael looked around and leaned closer. "I know you guys are more well-informed. I'm willing to pay, and this matter has nothing to do with anyone else."

The bartender pondered for a moment. "Five thousand dollars. I'll help you find out about this person. If you want more information about him, we'll talk after I find out who he is …"

Little Michael couldn't care less about this at this point. He immediately agreed.

The bartender put away the wanted poster, turned around, and continued to check the inventory. "Come in through the back door at seven o 'clock in the evening!"
