...
Having lived two lives, Ye Chen's willpower was extremely strong. At this moment, in his heart, not only was there the temptation of many peerless beauties, there was also the endless luxury of life, as well as countless enemies who had turned into malicious spirits...
Fear, temptation, coercion...
None of these could make his heart waver!
He sat upright in a sea of blood, the scenery around him changing. Sometimes it was a sea of blood, sometimes it was a snowy mountain, sometimes it was laughter. Only the area around him remained unmoving!
If it were an ordinary person, under such karmic hindrances, they would choose to embrace, purify, and refine everything, and then improve their state of mind. However, Ye Chen, perhaps because of his personality, took an extreme path — using violence to curb violence!
Moreover, in the end, for the persistence in his heart, he would rather give up the Xuanyuan Divine Sword!
Cut off all external temptations!
Coincidentally, this just happened to prove the Buddhist Sect's saying that the four elements are nothing. If Ye Chen was able to let go of the obsession in his heart, then his mental state would advance by leaps and bounds, and it was even to the extent that he might gain sudden enlightenment on the spot and become a saint!
A Saint expert, with just the power of the soul, could enlighten all living beings, nurture disciples, and increase their own strength!
However...
Such a Saint was definitely not what Ye Chen wanted!
"If this is a Saint, I would rather not comprehend it!"
Ye Chen's eyes glowed red as he threw his head back and roared. Mountains collapsed and the ground cracked. Many scenes changed as everything was destroyed. He used the most powerful method possible to suppress the ruthlessness, guilt, and knots in his heart, causing the Inner Devil to grow stronger and stronger!
The Heart Refining Tablet was a top-notch treasure that could attract karmic hindrances and help purify them. Unexpectedly, on Ye Chen, it had the opposite effect, causing the karmic hindrances to grow bigger and bigger, like a rolling snowball, surging with killing intent.
Suddenly —
The blood-red sky was torn apart by a golden light, and an eternal scene appeared …
In the Outer Heavens, there was a primordial chaos world filled with turbid qi. A towering figure stood there, like a primordial giant. His body was like a mountain, and he rode a golden divine dragon as he soared into the Nine Heavens. In Ye Chen's eyes, this figure was extremely blurry. It was as if the space between him and this figure was distorted, obstructing his vision.
Just as the figure was about to enter the sky, it seemed to have sensed something and slowly turned its head. Even though there was a world between them, that pair of eyes that were as bright as the sun and moon was still deeply imprinted in Ye Chen's mind.
Boom ~ ~
Ye Chen's mind went blank, as if he had been struck by lightning. His heart was beating wildly, and the blood in his body seemed to have turned cold. The bloody glow in his eyes disappeared, and they were replaced with clarity.
However, not long after the baleful aura was forced back, it suddenly erupted, causing Ye Chen's expression to suddenly warp. His face was covered in a savage expression, and his devilish hair fluttered about while his baleful aura surged into the sky. In the world behind him, the heavens and the earth collapsed, volcanoes erupted, the sky split apart, and everything was damaged and revealed a scarlet red color. It was like a peerless devil intended to tear that world apart and break out!
In the distance, the figure in the primordial chaos world slowly stopped. He raised his hand, and a golden light shot out from his fingertip. It pierced through the void and imprinted itself between Ye Chen's eyebrows at the speed of light.
As the golden light surged, a majestic, broad, and vast spiritual energy surged into Ye Chen's heart, causing all the killing intent in his heart to melt like ice and snow. It was forced back step by step, forcefully suppressing it from his mind and settling in the depths of his heart. It was enveloped and sealed by the golden light!
Ye Chen's eyes were clear. He looked at his unharmed body in a daze. At this moment, the blood-red color in the surrounding world disappeared. It was replaced by the sound of birds and the fragrance of flowers. Peach blossoms were blooming, and it was like a paradise!
"What's going on?" Ye Chen was a little confused. "That person riding the wind and riding the dragon. Could it be the great Yellow Emperor?
But why did he help me suppress my inner demons? "
Ye Chen did not know that the Heart Refining Tablet was a top-grade treasure. In the long river of history, it was ranked in the top 1000 among countless civilizations. It could be seen how shocking its value was!
How could such a treasure only tempt the inner demons in people's hearts?
Its real effect was divided into three steps:
First, sit cross-legged in front of the tablet and calm your mind. Under the guidance of the Heart Refining Tablet, one could enter the inner world and defeat the inner demons!
Second, the tablet contained the projection of the Sage. It could only be activated when one fell into the inner demons. This was to prevent people from falling into the inner demons and never being able to recover. Therefore, the help of the Sage's projection was needed to force the inner demons away!
Third, the Sage's enlightenment!
Only when the inner demons reached a certain level could this level be activated!
These were the three main effects of the Heart Refining Tablet. The first step was the easiest to activate. If one was defeated by the inner demons in the inner world and fell into the inner demons, the second step would be activated!
Just now, Ye Chen had seen the Yellow Emperor's projection. That peerless demeanor, every move of the Yellow Emperor, contained the truth of the world. That was why Ye Chen had comprehended it. Furthermore, the Yellow Emperor's gaze had caused the murderous aura in his body to retreat!
One had to know that the Sage's gaze was as clear as candlelight. It was like the angry thunder in the sky. It could see all the chaos in the world. It could disperse the inner demons and reach the heart!
Under that gaze, Ye Chen was like a thief who had done something bad. His thoughts were all seen through. He was like an ant under a golden lamp. Therefore, he was scared witless.
However, the accumulated Evil Qi in his body was too large. After it was suppressed, it produced an even stronger rebound. Therefore, the third step was activated, causing the Yellow Emperor's projection to reach out and enlighten him!
After being enlightened, the Evil Qi in Ye Chen's heart was forced to retreat. It was compressed into a black sphere like a pebble. In the depths of his heart, it was covered by a thin layer of golden light. This black sphere seemed to have a life of its own. It was like a heart. As it expanded and contracted, the golden light on its surface also expanded and contracted.
Hu!
Ye Chen sat down cross-legged and exhaled a mouthful of turbid air. As the Evil Qi in his body was suppressed, his thoughts were unprecedentedly active. He didn't need to divert his spirit force to suppress the Evil Qi in his body!
At this moment, his mental state rapidly soared!
First Level Mortal, Second Level Mortal, Third Level Mortal...
In a few breaths' time, he reached Tenth Level Mortal. However, he didn't stop there. He broke through and reached the Sage Realm!
Sages didn't panic in the face of danger. They had the world in their hearts and could see through the essence of the world. They wouldn't be confused by the surface!
Following the improvement of his spirit force, Ye Chen had a mysterious state of understanding. In an instant, his spirit force was like that of an eighty-year-old man who had experienced the vicissitudes of life.
Soon, his mental state broke through the original realm and reached Third Level Sage!
"True and false, true and illusory. Everything is due to the change of the heart …" Ye Chen's eyes revealed enlightenment. "The wind moves, the clouds move. In fact, it's just the heart that moves.
Until one's nature sees one's nature and becomes a Buddha … "
In an instant, Ye Chen had a lot of enlightenment in his heart.
One Thought One World!
A flower and a blade of grass, withering and thriving in a year!
"Birds chirping, wind whistling, stream water …" Ye Chen had a smile on his face as he sat on the ground. The surrounding desert instantly turned into an oasis. With Ye Chen as the center, the greenery rapidly expanded in all directions. The entire world was filled with orchids blooming around him. This was a sign of great enlightenment.
"This is life …" Ye Chen looked at the flowers and grass around him. It was as if he could feel the joy of the flowers and the gentle breeze. This was the state of heart. Even when facing a mutated beast, he could still 'communicate with his eyes'.
Following the enlightenment in his heart, Ye Chen's mind became clearer and clearer. He could hear wonderful sounds around him. Many changes in the scenery, including his former enemies and the temptation of beauties, wrapped around him.
Ye Chen had a smile on his face as he casually picked up a flower. There seemed to be a grand radiance shining behind him, dispersing all negative karma.
In the outside world.
Huang Feng and the others stood up and walked towards the jade wall. It had been a month since they had entered the Dragon Emperor Holy Ground. After a month of hard work, Zi Wan and Huang Cang had both reached the Third Order Sage Realm. They were able to see through the jade wall and comprehend the profound principles contained within.
As for Huang Feng and the rest, they would try to look at it every time, but to no avail. They would then walk to the Bridge of Souls to test their souls!
After so many days, Zi Wan had walked the furthest. She was able to walk to the eighth step. This kind of improvement speed surprised the middle-aged man in the golden palace. He secretly praised this girl's innate talent. In less than twenty years, she could replace her father and become the Island Lord of the Purple Cloud Island!
Huang Cang was slightly worse. He could only walk to the seventh step. Every time he took the eighth step, he could barely hold on for two seconds before he was blasted back.
Huang Feng and the rest were at the sixth step. They could barely hold on for two seconds at the seventh step.
Even so, it was still not easy!
Boom!
Huang Feng walked on the Bridge of Souls. His body suddenly trembled and he took three steps back. His face was slightly pale. He looked at the Xuan Yuan Divine Sword on the other side of the bridge. After a while, he sighed inwardly. He turned around and walked to the Heart Refining Stele to continue his cultivation.
He knew that three months in the Dragon Emperor Holy Ground was equivalent to ten years of cultivation in the outside world. Therefore, he could not waste any time.
When he passed by Ye Chen, he did not look at him and walked to his own stele. After so many days, he had never seen Ye Chen move. At first, he was a little surprised, but he gradually got used to it.
Suddenly — —
Ye Chen, who had been motionless all this time, slowly opened his eyes. Two rays of bright light flashed across his eyes. His eyes were as clear as a lake and carried a feeling of being able to see through one's heart. Huang Feng's heart skipped a beat and his muscles tightened. It was as if all the secrets in his heart had been seen through by Ye Chen.
"Ye Chen." Huang Feng was surprised and overjoyed. He said, "You're finally awake."
Ye Chen glanced at him and smiled. Then, he slowly stood up and walked to the Emerald Jade Wall. Zi Wan, Huang Cang, and the others were stunned when they saw Ye Chen. They were a little surprised.
Ye Chen ignored them and sat in front of the Emerald Jade Wall. When he looked up, there seemed to be a layer of fog in front of his eyes. Then, his vision suddenly became clear. On the green Emerald Jade Wall, there were weather-beaten words, which revealed a mysterious meaning.
Ye Chen did not recognize these words, but he naturally knew what they were about. This was a scripture, which contained a profound meaning and was difficult to understand.
