Dark Ruler - Chapter46

Thunder roared.

At that moment, the world was dyed white.

A dazzling flash exploded in the air and condensed into a sharp sword that pierced towards the Golden War Hammer.

When the sword and hammer collided, the explosion and airwaves swept across the entire mine. The sand and dust that whistled up and the scorching air that rushed toward them made the people who were fighting take a few steps back involuntarily.

Not good!

Seeing this scene, Alex was also shocked.

As the Patrolling Bishop of the Church of Holy Light, he had considerable strength. Although he hadn't entered the Legendary Stage, he wasn't far from it.

Naturally, he wouldn't be blinded by the lightning like the others.

Because of this, Alex could clearly see the Hammer of Judgement that she had summoned vanish into thin air the moment it collided with the Lightning Sword that the opponent had summoned.

On the other hand, the lightning sword's momentum did not diminish. After breaking the Hammer of Judgement, it quickly flew towards him!

What terrifying power!

Alex's back was drenched in cold sweat. The Hammer of Judgement was a high-grade divine spell of the Church. As the Bishop of the Church, she had never failed when she used this spell against demons. Even the mages could only retreat in defeat when faced with her Hammer of Judgement. At most, they could only block it.

But he didn't expect that there was someone who could so easily destroy it. Who exactly was this person?!

But at this moment, Alex didn't have much time to think. Seeing that the lightning sword was about to fly towards him, he hurriedly raised the Holy Emblem in his hand and praised the name of the Holy Lord.

As the Holy Emblem flashed, a translucent barrier suddenly appeared out of thin air and protected Alex within it.

Almost at the same time, the shining lightning sword had already arrived in front of the old man and hit the barrier without any deviation.

"Boom boom boom boom …!"

A low and resounding explosion rang out. For a moment, everyone felt as if their hearts had been struck by a heavy hammer, causing them to tremble.

There were even a few warriors who weren't strong enough who vomited blood and fell to the ground.

But before they could recover from their shock, a black shadow suddenly flew past behind them. Followed by a scream, the soldiers were immediately pulled to the ground and quickly disappeared into the depths of the dark cave.

After a while, the light dissipated. Everyone could clearly see the situation in front of them, and they couldn't help but suck in a breath of cold air.

The old bishop was still standing on the gate of the encampment, but his face was as pale as a sheet of paper. Although there were no injuries on his body, the originally sturdy gate beneath his feet had a crack that was at least half a meter wide. The crack extended all the way to the ground, and the crooked wall had completely collapsed.

Just by looking at this scene, one could tell how powerful the lightning was.

Even Alex was still in a state of shock. He held the Sacred Emblem in his hand and even trembled slightly.

It was the old bishop's first time encountering such a tyrannical force. When the Sword of Lightning struck, it gave off the feeling of a raging wave like a broken dam.

Even though Alex had activated the Guardian Barrier, she still felt powerless.

Only when the lightning dissipated did he let out a long sigh.

"Tsk …!"

But unlike Alex, who was sweating profusely, Jenn also smacked his lips in displeasure.

Up until now, he could only cast two spells. No matter how many variations he had, it was still useless.

This was essentially the same logic as Elyse's Magic Flame. It looked very impressive on normal days, but if it was targeted by the opponent, it would immediately become useless.

It was just like how he used Lightning and Fire. With his bonus as a Dungeon Lord and his Magic Penetration, they certainly had Legendary-level power.

But so what?

If he was seen through, wouldn't he be at a loss as long as a high-ranking mage used Elemental Protection or Elemental Immunity?

There was no such thing as invincible magic in this world. Every spell had a way to restrain it.

Even if it was a Space Spell that was rumored to be mysterious in the Main Plane, a Dimensional Anchor and Space Blockade would turn it into a pile of garbage.

But it was a pity that Jenn couldn't learn spells from books like a real mage. If he wanted to obtain spells, he had to build a library and put a unit in it for magical research.

Now that the Dungeon had been upgraded to level 3, there were two more Spell Slots in addition to [Stormy Thunder] and [Fiery Serpent]. However, as there were no suitable candidates, there was no room for him to research Mana Skills in the library. This made him rather depressed.

The Dungeon system had strict requirements for units in this aspect, and it wasn't to put in any random unit.

Summoning units like Xenomorph and Banshee were useless. To make the building work, he needed heroic units like Enoya, Bikers, and Verna.

Among them, Enoya was the adjutant and couldn't stay in the library every day. As a Gnome, Bikers specialized in Engineering and didn't know magic at all.

As a female Dark Elf, apart from being gifted in techniques, Verna wasn't very familiar with magic. Besides, with the characteristics of the Dark Elves, she would be more useful in the Blackstone Outpost Tower than in the library.

The most suitable unit was Elyse. As a Mage, though her Mana system was far from ordinary Mana systems, Jenn didn't mind.

The Dungeon system only needed a Spell Caster unit to be stationed in the library to automatically research spells. It wasn't important to the Spell Caster's level and Mana system.

Of course, the higher the level, the faster the research, and the stronger the spells, which was naturally good.

It was a pity that until now, the system didn't treat Elyse as one of its own. Perhaps it was because she was born in Black Agate City and belonged to another faction, which was completely different from Verna, who was a lone soul.

Now, Jenn could only hope that the power of "enlightenment" was strong enough. Even if it wasn't enough to make her completely degenerate and become a dependent of the Demons, she had to at least be recognized by the Dungeon system. Only then could she truly start researching spells.

But it seemed like it was almost done.

Gazing at the faint blush on Elyse's face, Jenn's eyes glinted. Then, he let go of his left hand that was hugging Elyse.

At this moment, the old bishop raised the Holy Emblem high in the air and yelled, "The Holy Empress!

"In the name of the Holy Lord, warriors!

Bathe in the holy light and vanquish these evil creatures of darkness! "

Along with the furious bellow of the elderly Bishop, rays of light as though penetrating the clouds descended from the sky and shrouded the bodies of the warriors around the Stronghold.

Along with the descent of the light, a layer of faint, white halo appeared on the bodies of the warriors.

The warriors who were terrified by Jenn's spells became much calmer at that moment. Their fearful expressions vanished, only to be replaced by firm faith and willpower.

They raised the weapons in their hands and shouted as they charged at Zayen and the others.

"Dungeon Lord, erm … what should we do?"

Leaning in Zayen's arms, Elyse did not feel very uncomfortable or shy. Perhaps it was because she and Zayen had done more "exciting" things than this in her dreams, so not only did she not feel uneasy, but there was a familiar sense of intimacy.

Because of this, when Zayen let go of her, Elyse could not help but feel a little disappointed in the depths of his heart.

But after all, she had rich combat experience, and she immediately regained her vigilance when she saw the soldiers attacking again.

Even Elyse had to admit that the surface humans were difficult to deal with. Back in the Black Agate City, it wasn't so troublesome for her to deal with the Dark Elves, Mind Flayers, and Gray Dwarves.

The Mind Flayers' Spiritual Shock was special, but it shouldn't be able to restrain her to this extent.

On the other hand, not only did these surface humans use some strange things, but they also had spells that specifically restrained her. Elyse couldn't help but feel a little worried and didn't know what to do.

Upon hearing her question, Jenn's expression didn't change in the slightest. Even his orders didn't change in the slightest.

"Kill them all. Don't leave a single one alive."

Jenn said, picked up his cane, and slammed it on the ground.

In a loud swoosh, a roaring torrent of flames erupted from the ground like a fountain, transforming into three enormous fire snakes that opened their mouths and pounced on the warriors.

Upon seeing the approaching fire snakes, the warriors didn't panic and hurriedly scattered.

But what they didn't expect was that these fire snakes were almost alive. As soon as they turned around to dodge, they suddenly turned around and swallowed all the soldiers around them.

Along with continuous screams, in just a few minutes, there were a few more charred bodies on the ground.

If it were in the past, these warriors would have long retreated in fear. But now, under the protection of the divine spell, they no longer had any fear. To them, the most important thing was to promote the holy light, eliminate darkness, and fight against evil!

For all of this, they were willing to give up their lives!

But it was a pity that faith and strength were two different things, after all.

The warriors of the Templar Order weren't afraid of death. Which one of Jenn's men didn't kill people like flies?

Under the joint efforts of Enoya, Verna, and Elyse, the warriors fell one after another to the lightning whips, the dark elves' assassinations, and the ice-cold demonic flames.

This isn't good.

Looking at this scene, the elderly bishop knitted his brows.

Of course, he witnessed the horror of the demonic flames. But at that moment, he didn't dare to act rashly because he could clearly sense that the mage dressed like a noble was staring at him. As soon as he made a move, perhaps he would immediately launch a thunderous attack on him.

When that happened, the elderly bishop wouldn't have the confidence to resist the attack.

The Underdark is indeed a terrifying place!

Such a powerful Dark Dweller was rarely seen even on the surface of the earth!

I really don't know where these people came from.

Could it be that they are the targets that the Holy Lord prophesied to destroy?

At this thought, the elderly bishop was shocked. If that were the case, he would have made a very wrong decision!

"Hurry, inform Sir Locus!

Tell him that we're under attack and need reinforcements! "

At this thought, the elderly bishop immediately ordered the warrior beside him. Upon hearing the elderly bishop's voice, the warrior's expression changed slightly, and he immediately turned around and rushed into the stronghold.

In order to prevent ambushes, the Templar Order had set up a special communication signal in the stronghold. If there were any accidents, as long as it was triggered, it could immediately notify all the surrounding troops and ask them to rush over to help.

Previously, the elderly bishop thought that it was just the magical creatures in the Underdark who came to probe. But after fighting with Jenn, he realized that he was ridiculously wrong, so he had no choice but to seek help.

If this stronghold were to fall, it would be too late for the Holy Church!

While giving the order, the elderly bishop stared at Jenn, for fear that he would notice his actions.

However, Jenn didn't seem to notice that the elderly bishop had sent someone to seek help. He just twirled his staff and stood leisurely at the back.

But the elderly bishop didn't see the strange arc that appeared at the corner of Jenn's mouth.
