Han and Tang Empires, Martial Arts Institute.
The lights were bright, and the crowd was bustling. One by one, the transcribers were copying the books that they had taken from the hands of the various accountants. This was to prevent anyone from making a mark and colluding with the judges to cheat.
The Demon Hunting Conference had a history of a hundred years. It had already developed into a complete system. Since the beginning of the Demon Hunting Conference, all the transcribers and judges had to be isolated. It was as strict as the ancient imperial examinations. However, the competition here was not about poetry, but the ability to hunt demonic beasts.
The transcribers placed the copied books on the ground. There were more than 100,000 people from the Han and Tang Empires Academy, the army, and the nobles. These books covered the ground like a sea of books.
Three judges, one inspector, and a few auxiliary civil officials stood in front of the stone statue of Qin Shihuang and lit a Soul-Summoning Incense.
"Qin Shihuang, please judge!"
The Soul-Summoning Incense burned to the end with a whoosh. An invisible force shrouded the room, and a gust of wind blew in the room. The pages on the ground flipped, and a spiritual light flashed between each page. The spiritual light was condensed from the prey that the owner of the page had hunted.
The spiritual light condensed from all the spiritual lights was different. If the demonic beast was of a low level, the spiritual light produced would be white. Only demonic beasts of the third level and above would be red. Demonic beasts of the fourth level would be pale purple, and demonic beasts of the fifth level would be rich purple.
A gust of wind blew, blowing the tens of thousands of books to the side and piling them up into a mountain. The remaining 200 books were directly spread out and neatly placed on the ground.
The red and purple spiritual light above the books flickered and condensed into various demonic beast shapes in the air. They did not disperse for a long time.
Assistant Minister Geng looked at his colleagues with a smile and said, "Everyone, do you want to guess who the first place is?"
Registrar Zhou said, "Is there a need to guess?
First place is definitely Han Xuefei. I heard that she hunted down a Fifth Stage Demonic Beast. This is something that has never happened in the history of Han Tang. She is truly a woman who does not lose out to men! "
Patrolman Zhang sneered and said, "Everyone, don't speak too early. You must know that this ranking is not only based on the strength of the demonic beasts, but also the number of demonic beasts. The Zhuge Clan's Zhuge Yu hunted a cart full of demonic beasts, and among them, there were quite a number of Grade 3 and Grade 4 demonic beasts. Hehe, we still don't know who will be the champion, so don't boast too much.
The two examiners were displeased when they heard this and were about to open their mouths to argue with Patrol Inspector Zhang.
However, the remaining Assistant Minister Deng said, "Alright, alright, they're all talents selected for the Han Tang. Let's quickly review them!"
The other three immediately shut their mouths and started to arrange the remaining over 200 scrolls by using their Battle Qis.
The remaining civil officials went to the corner of the room and sorted out the scrolls that had been swept off the floor. They sorted them out and converted them into rewards for the Ministry of Revenue to distribute.
In a short while, the 200 scrolls had been sorted out. At this moment, Assistant Minister Geng suddenly realized that there were two scrolls with extremely dense Purple Qi. He immediately said in shock, "The Spiritual Qi is dense, and the light is like the Purple Qi from the East. It's incomparably pure!
This is the sign of a Fifth Stage Demonic Beast!
Why, why are there two scrolls? "
Patrolman Zhang laughed proudly and said, "Our Han Tang is really a place blessed by outstanding people. Other than that Han Xuefei, there's another genius?
If I'm not wrong, it should be Zhuge Yu!
When the number of demonic beasts reaches a certain level, the color of the Spiritual Qi will also be upgraded! "
Registrar Zhou really could not stand this Patrolman Zhang's behavior. Although he knew that he was Prime Minister Zhuge's disciple, wasn't it a little too much for him to cheat so blatantly?
"Patrolman Zhang, please watch your words. If you say this again, I'll report you for corruption!"
Patrolman Zhang heard this and waved his hand indifferently, "Report me as you wish. As the saying goes, the worthy do not avoid relatives!
Don't tell me that just because someone close to me is talented, I'll hide it from you? "
Registrar Zhou was greatly angered by this person's shamelessness. He picked up the scroll with the most Spiritual Qi and flipped through it. The scroll did not have a name or the process of killing the demonic beasts. There was only a list of demonic beasts killed, the number of demonic beasts killed, and their appearance.
"Killed a Fifth Stage Purple Crystal Gold Leopard. Appearance of fur, perfect!
Appearance of canine teeth, perfect!
… Killed a Third Stage Porcupine. Appearance of fur, low grade. Appearance of canine teeth, low grade. "
Registrar Zhou finished reading and nodded his head. If he remembered correctly, this should be the demonic beast that Han Xuefei had killed. It was said that she had used too much time to kill this Fifth Stage demonic beast, so the number of demonic beasts she had killed was not enough.
However, it did not matter. The value of this Fifth Stage demonic beast was immeasurable. Even if she had killed very little, the throne of the top scorer would still belong to her.
Registrar Zhou used his Battle Qi to imprint an "A" on the page, then passed the scroll to the next person.
The top two hundred scrolls were all cross-examined and the final average was taken. However, there was only one "A" grade. This person represented the top scorer of this Demon Hunting Meet.
Inspector Zhang glanced at it and laughed contemptuously. "Registrar Zhou, aren't you too hasty in giving out an" A "grade? You haven't even looked at the other scroll!
Both of them have purple Spiritual Qi. Don't be so biased! "
As Inspector Zhang spoke, he laughed arrogantly. He proudly picked up the other Purple Qi scroll and looked at it. Immediately, his face darkened.
Beside him, Assistant Minister Geng took a closer look and immediately laughed mockingly. "A Fifth Stage Giant Python. This was not killed by Zhuge Yu. Our Han Tang is really full of talents. There's Han Xuefei, and there's actually such a nameless expert!
How great! "
Inspector Zhang's face darkened. He gritted his teeth and said, "Assistant Minister Geng, don't go too far!"
Assistant Minister Geng did not mind. He smiled and snatched the scroll from Inspector Zhang's hands. He raised his hand and imprinted an "A" on it.
Inspector Zhang glared fiercely at Assistant Minister Geng and continued to flip through the scrolls. Indeed, he finally found Zhuge Yu's scroll in the third place. The Spiritual Qi on his scroll was a dark red color with a hint of purple Qi.
This was the peak of the Fourth Stage. There were already signs of reaching the Fifth Stage. In the past, if such a Spiritual Qi appeared, one would definitely become the top scorer. However, there was an accident this year.
Inspector Zhang imprinted an "A" grade on this scroll. Then, without batting an eyelid, he imprinted an "B" grade on the other two scrolls with purple Spiritual Qi. He then gave Assistant Minister Deng a look. Assistant Minister Deng sighed helplessly and imprinted an "B" grade on the other two scrolls with purple Spiritual Qi.
Not long after, the evaluation of the two hundred scrolls was completed. A transcriber rearranged the scrolls according to the comprehensive evaluation. The next step was to write this year's Top Three List and the Top Hundred List.
However, when the scrolls were rearranged, Registrar Zhou took a closer look. The one who appeared in first place was not the two scrolls with purple Spiritual Qi, but Zhuge Yu!
Host Zhou and Assistant Minister Geng both looked at Inspector Zhang. Registrar Zhou was still fine, but Assistant Minister Geng had a fiery temper. He pointed at Inspector Zhang's nose and said angrily, "Inspector Zhang, these two people both hunted Fifth Stage monsters. Why didn't you give them an" A "grade? I know you are Prime Minister Zhuge's lackey. This time, you want to hug your master's thigh, but don't go too far!
If you insist on placing Zhuge Yu in first place, I will ask the Emperor to expose you! "
