The sound of the bell reverberated throughout the vast capital of the Sage Monarch Commandery. However, it didn't cause anyone to feel irritated. Instead, it calmed them down.
"Could it be that today is the day of the Sacred Clan's Clan Sacrifice?" Qin Xinghuo's eyes flashed with surprise when he heard the bell.
Ye Chen stood beside Qin Xinghuo and asked in a low voice, "Grand Elder, what is the Sacred Clan Sacrifice?"
"The Sacred Clan Sacrifice is an event where the Sacred Clan offers sacrifices to their ancestors. Back in the day, every Sacred Clan Sacrifice was the most lively event in the Sacred Clan."
Qin Xinghuo revealed a look of indulgence as he explained. Then, his face suddenly lit up with joy. "That's great! Ye Chen, after the Sacred Clan Sacrifice, the younger generation of disciples will be tested. We came at the right time. As long as you show enough talent and strength, you will definitely be valued by the experts of the commandery."
"Grand Elder, do you think I can still compete with others in my current state?" Ye Chen smiled bitterly when he heard Qin Xinghuo's words.
Right now, it was difficult for him to even walk, let alone fight with others.
"It doesn't matter. Although you are in a bad state, I can explain to the higher-ups of the commandery that you have become like this because of a mistake in your cultivation. However, there is no doubt about your talent. How can someone who has been blessed by the gods be weak?"
"The Sacred Clan Competition has two parts. The first part is to use the talent stone to test one's talent.
The second part is to test one's battle prowess. When you take the talent test later, it will be enough to prove everything. "
Qin Xinghuo's face was filled with excitement. He was very confident in Ye Chen's talent.
This was not surprising. After all, Ye Chen was someone who had drawn the blessings of the gods. In the history of the Sacred Race, every clansman who could draw the blessings of the gods would become an influential figure in the future.
"Let's hurry over and let you experience the Sacred Clan Sacrifice first." Qin Xinghuo excitedly led Ye Chen towards the center of the capital.
In the center of the Sage Monarch Commandery's capital was a huge square.
The ground of the square was also paved with the same white jade used to build the city walls. It was pure white and sparkling.
But now, there was a huge pile of offerings on top of the white jade.
Countless powerful Saint Race clansmen knelt on the square, piously praying to the ancestral tablets.
The Sacred Race's Tribe Sacrifice didn't seem to be a taboo for outsiders to watch. Qin Xinghuo brought Ye Chen to the edge of the square. They could only stand in the center of a large crowd of onlookers, watching every movement in the square from afar.
"Let the Sacred Race's Clan Sacrifice begin! Sacrifice!"
By the time Ye Chen and Qin Xinghuo arrived at the edge of the plaza, a Sacred Race expert whose aura was at least at the Ancestor God level was holding a golden scroll in his hand and reading aloud the sacrificial rites to the ancestors.
At the same time, hundreds of Sacred Race clansmen began to place the offerings piled up in the plaza in front of the ancestral tablets.
"Sacrifice Soul!"
"Blood Sacrifice Beast!"
The process of the Sacred Race's Race Sacrifice was carried out one after another.
In the end, a shocking scene appeared.
A Sacred Race expert flicked his wrist, and a spatial treasure in his hand immediately released many powerful savage beasts.
These savage beasts all had powerful auras and ruthless auras, but they couldn't even move. It was clear that they had been subdued by the Sacred Race experts.
Another Sacred Race expert stepped forward, grasping a giant saber. He aimed it at the savage beasts' heads and viciously chopped down.
Suddenly, the entire square began to fill with the smell of blood.
The blood that flowed out of these savage beasts wasn't all bright red. Some of the blood was seven different colors. This seven colored blood was extremely unique. After it flowed out of the savage beasts' bodies, it began to twist and distort, as if it wanted to break through the air and fly away.
But unfortunately, before this blood could escape, the ground below began to emit a light that enveloped the blood and sucked it into the ground.
In the blink of an eye, the number of savage beasts that were killed surpassed 100,000.
Every savage beast was drained of blood and then their corpses were discarded.
If the blood of 100,000 giant savage beasts were to flow together, it would be enough to drown half the capital. But, the ground of the square seemed to have some mysterious mechanism. Even after absorbing so much blood, there still wasn't any change.
Awoo!
After killing a hundred thousand savage beasts, another Saint Race expert released a savage beast from his spatial treasure.
This savage beast was three hundred feet tall and looked like a Qilin. However, its body was completely black and there was a faint black flame burning on its body.
It didn't seem to be completely subdued. After it appeared, it emitted a mournful roar.
"Blackscale Beast, it's actually an adult Blackscale Beast. It's said that an adult Blackscale Beast's strength is comparable to a Profound Divine realm martial artist."
"An adult Blackscale Beast is already a member of the beast race alliance. The Sacred Race is too tyrannical. They actually captured an adult Blackscale Beast and used it as a sacrifice."
"Humph, so what if they are Sacred Race experts? In the past, Sovereign Martial Emperor personally acted and suppressed the beast race alliance to the point where they didn't even dare to resist. Now that Sovereign Martial Emperor is in the central region, these Sacred Race experts have the guts to jump out and cause trouble again."
…
Seeing this pitch black Blackscale Beast, the surrounding crowd began to whisper amongst themselves.
As Ye Chen heard these whispers, he was stunned. But at the same time, he gradually understood why the Sacred Race would conduct such a sacrifice in front of so many people.
The Sacred Race's sacrifice of the past might have been a type of sacrificial activity for the Sacred Race.
But now, the Sacred Race's sacrifice might have become a chance for the Sacred Race to display their strength.
After the appearance of this Blackscale Beast, the Sacred Race's sacrifice finally reached its climax.
A Blackscale Beast with strength comparable to a Profound Divine realm martial artist wasn't able to escape in the end. It was beheaded by a Sacred Race expert.
The blood that flowed out from its body was like giant stones. As it dripped onto the ground, it emitted a dull thud. Even the white jade ground began to crack.
After the Blackscale Beast's blood was released, the surrounding Sacred Race clansmen became solemn once more. They knelt down in front of the Sacred Race's ancestral tablets.
At this time, a blood red light began to rise from beneath their feet.
Blood red light appeared one after another. Soon, all of the Sacred Race clansmen in the center of the square were covered in this blood red light.
Bang!
In just a moment, the aura of a Sacred Race clansman shrouded in blood red light suddenly erupted. From the Saint realm, he broke into the Divine realm.
"Someone has begun to make a breakthrough. The Sacred Race's sacrifice can refine the blood of many savage beasts into blood energy and inject it into a Sacred Race martial artist's body to increase their strength. In the last Sacred Race sacrifice, 173 people made a breakthrough. I wonder how many people will make a breakthrough this time."
"I really envy these Sacred Race clansmen. If it were me in this square, I would also be able to make a breakthrough."
… …
Seeing the Sacred Race clansmen in the square begin to make a breakthrough one after another, the many martial artists in the square revealed looks of envy.
"This is the main Sacred Race of the Hidden Dragon World." Ye Chen stared at the square in front of him, secretly sighing in his heart.
The Sacred Race's sacrifice had already allowed Ye Chen to see just how formidable the Sacred Race of the Hidden Dragon World was.
"I never thought that the Sacred Race's sacrifice would have been researched to such a degree. It can even increase the strength of a Sacred Race clansman through the process of the sacrifice." Beside Ye Chen, Qin Xinghuo was also shocked.
