"Great!"
Chen Mo was overjoyed. He ran to the edge of the pit and fired a volley of crossbow bolts.
"Roar!"
Inside the pit, the Mutant Slime King was anxiously jumping around. However, it could not jump up.
"Be a good boy and let me kill you. Don't put up any unnecessary resistance!" Chen Mo laughed.
His efforts had not been in vain. If he could kill a Mutant Boss first, what would it drop?
Even a normal Slime King could drop Violet equipment. A Mutant Slime King would definitely drop Violet equipment!
Hmm, after I kill the Mutant Slime King in this Novice Village, I'll kill myself and respawn in another Novice Village. I'll kill all the other Slime Kings one by one. A full set of Violet equipment would not be a problem. When that time comes, Enoch will be waiting for me to deal with!
"Not good!"
Chen Mo thought to himself as he frantically attacked the Mutant Slime King. With the effect of the Slime King's poison, Chen Mo's damage output was definitely not low. Every normal attack was able to take out more than 60% of the Mutant Slime King's HP!
However, the Mutant Slime King had only been pushed into the pit by Chen Mo for about ten seconds. The Mutant Slime King was enraged. After it let out a furious roar, its body suddenly expanded a little. Then, it fiercely bounced about five meters high. From top to bottom, it ruthlessly smashed towards Chen Mo!
"Damn, a Mutant Boss is really not that simple!" Chen Mo thought resentfully.
The pit that he had painstakingly dug had only trapped the Mutant Slime King for about ten seconds. Although he had the Shock Trap, its cooldown time was as high as 27 seconds. It was still a long time before he could use it again.
With the Gale Shoes, Chen Mo's speed was not much slower than the Mutant Slime King. However, Chen Mo discovered that after the Mutant Slime King entered an enraged state, not only did it jump higher, its speed also increased. Chen Mo wanted to run along the edge of the pit with it. However, it seemed that the Mutant Slime King would catch up to him in a few seconds!
With no other choice, Chen Mo could only move his body and jump into the pit himself!
He had dug such a large pit. Other than using it to kill the Boss, it could also serve as a hindrance to the Boss!
If the Mutant Slime King jumped into the pit, Chen Mo would have to thank the heavens. However, Chen Mo did not think that the Mutant Slime King, which had just jumped out of the pit, would jump back in again.
As expected, the Mutant Slime King only angrily stared at Chen Mo in the pit. It did not jump into the pit.
"If you don't jump, I'm going to attack!"
Chen Mo had a crossbow. He stood in the pit and quickly fired a few arrows at the Mutant Slime King.
"Roar!"
After receiving several attacks from Chen Mo, the Mutant Slime King let out an angry roar. Its body shook, and a large number of fist-sized purple crystal balls shot out from its body and rolled into the pit.
"F * ck!"
This was not the first time Chen Mo had seen these things. The group of players from before had been instantly killed by these small balls. His HP was not much lower than that group of players. If he was hit by two small balls, he would definitely die.
There was no way to hide in the pit. Fortunately, Chen Mo had placed a rope in each of the four directions of the pit. At this moment, he hurriedly climbed back to the edge of the pit using the rope.
The bottom of the pit was already occupied by hundreds of purple crystal balls. It was simply impossible to attack the Mutant Slime King from within the pit.
Although there was a rope to climb out of the pit, the speed of climbing out was not as fast as jumping in. By the time Chen Mo climbed out, the Mutant Slime King had already jumped over. Its pair of bright black eyes stared angrily at Chen Mo. It looked as if it wanted to kill him.
As expected of a boss. It was different from low-level normal monsters. Even if one used tricks, it would be extremely difficult to kill it!
If it were any other player, they would have no choice but to let the Mutant Slime King catch up and be killed back to the city. There were still purple crystal balls in the pit. If they jumped back in, it would be suicide.
However, Chen Mo still had a trick up his sleeve!
Beast Trap!
The number of weapons he had obtained from Gerritsen was limited. Chen Mo was very reluctant to use them. However, if he did not use them now, he would die.
Without hesitation, Chen Mo quickly ran to the edge of the pit and placed a low-level beast trap in the path of the Mutant Slime King.
Pa!
The Mutant Slime King was a large monster. Of course, a small beast trap would not be able to catch it.
However, when facing a large monster, a low-level trap still had the effect of heavily injuring the monster. After being caught by the trap, the Mutated Slime King's speed suddenly slowed down.
Good!
It was effective!
Chen Mo sighed. If the beast trap was ineffective, he would have no way to deal with the Mutant Slime King.
The Mutant Slime King's speed was greatly reduced. It could no longer catch up to Chen Mo. Chen Mo did not hesitate to turn around and set up traps and crossbow bolts to attack the Mutant Slime King.
The normal duration of a beast trap was 10 seconds. The Mutant Slime King was a boss, so it was more resistant to negative statuses. The effect could not last for 10 seconds. However, it was enough. The Shock Trap skill was about to come off cooldown.
The Mutant Slime King became angrier and angrier as it was attacked by Chen Mo. However, under the effect of Heavy Injury, no matter how hard it tried, it could not catch up to Chen Mo.
This was the first time Chen Mo used a beast trap. He discovered that it was a good item.
Under the effect of Heavy Injury, the Mutant Slime King's Defense would be reduced. His attacks could actually deal over 100 points of damage.
During the few seconds of Heavy Injury, the Mutant Slime King's HP dropped rapidly. In just a few seconds, it had lost over a thousand HP.
"Roar!"
The Heavy Injury effect finally ended. The Mutant Slime King roared angrily and charged at Chen Mo.
Chen Mo did not retreat. Instead, he advanced. The instant the Mutant Slime King came crashing down, he moved to the side of the Mutant Slime King and threw a Shock Trap!
Boom!
The Mutant Slime King's body floated and fell into the pit once more.
"Let's see if you can still survive this!"
After this torment, the Mutant Slime King still had over 80,000 HP left. A few more hits and he might be able to kill it!
After all, after this round, if the Mutant Slime King did not have any other tricks up its sleeve, Chen Mo could use the pit to slowly grind it to death.
Ten seconds later, the Mutant Slime King roared again and jumped out of the pit.
Chen Mo had already expected this. With his previous experience, he did not waver at all. When the Mutant Slime King caught up to him, he jumped into the pit.
After attacking the Mutant Slime King a few times in the pit, the Mutant Slime King released a large number of purple balls. Chen Mo immediately climbed out and used a beast trap to deal with the pursuing Mutant Slime King.
80% … 70% … 60% … 30% …
In the blink of an eye, twenty minutes had passed.
The Mutant Slime King's HP had dropped to 30%. Chen Mo looked at the Mutant Slime King nervously.
In traditional games, many Bosses would enter their second form or go berserk when their HP reached a certain level.
He remembered that the Tycoon Club's First Clear Slime King did not have a second form. He did not know if the Mutant Slime King would have a second form.
The current Mutated Slime King was already very difficult to deal with. If it had a second form, unless there was someone like him who thought of the method of digging holes, otherwise, with a second form Mutated Slime King, no matter how many players there were, they wouldn't be able to take it down. After all, the equipment of the players in the Novice Village was too shabby.
HP … 20% … 10%!
There was no more mutation!
There was also no second form!
The Mutant Slime King only became more berserk. However, there was no unexpected situation.
Chen Mo let out a sigh of relief. The Mutant Slime King was at most a Novice Village Boss. It was not too strong.
"Roar!"
Under Chen Mo's relentless attacks, the Mutant Slime King's last 10% HP was depleted. After letting out an unwilling roar, it finally fell to the ground.
"Crash!"
A large number of items scattered from the Mutant Slime King's fallen body.
The Mutant Slime King had dropped a lot of items!
Unlike the Elite Wild Wolf and Mutant Black Goblin from before, Chen Mo saw that besides copper and silver coins, there were also a few pieces of equipment. There were even items that looked like scrolls!
"Hahaha!"
Chen Mo excitedly jumped down and quickly picked up the items on the ground.
"A Skill Mutation Scroll?"
A red ancient scroll was beside Chen Mo's feet. Chen Mo could not help but pick it up. When he saw the system notification, he could not help but be shocked.
