Catrin slowly drifted towards the Sacred Ocean. In the blink of an eye, two days had passed.
There were also monsters like sea beasts in the sea. At first, Chen Mo was worried that his territory would be attacked by monsters. However, after drifting on the sea for half a day, he knew that he was overthinking.
Monsters would attack players because they had entered their detection range.
This detection range was only effective against living creatures. Although Catrin, a huge monster, drifted past many sea beasts, in the eyes of the sea beasts, Catrin was no different from the wind blowing past.
Some sea beasts only looked at Catrin curiously for a while before ignoring her and letting her drift by.
Seeing this, Chen Mo finally heaved a sigh of relief.
The Sky Tree could allow Catrin to float on the sea, but it could not increase Catrin's defense. If a large number of sea beasts besieged Catrin's territory, Chen Mo would gradually become more and more troublesome even if he could use the puppets.
After all, there was a limited number of Everlasting Crystals. The more they were used, the less there would be. If they were frequently attacked by sea beasts, they would not be able to last until they reached the Sacred Continent.
Since the sea beasts did not attack Catrin, Chen Mo became idle for a while.
He did not want to provoke sea beasts, so he could not go out to level up. Catrin's territory was empty. He could see the city walls in the distance at a glance. He did not even need to walk around.
The only thing Chen Mo could do was to make sure that he was drifting in the right direction.
However, these boring days did not last for long.
On the third day of drifting on the sea, a huge black vulture flew over from afar. After flying over Catrin's territory, its huge claws loosened, and a large gray egg that it was holding fell from the sky into Catrin's territory.
Crack!
A crisp cracking sound was heard. The gray egg fell from the sky and hit Catrin's ground hard. Then, with a crack, the eggshell cracked, and the egg white and yolk flowed all over the ground.
For the past few days, Katrin's territory had been quiet. The sound of the gray eggs cracking was very ear-piercing in the territory. Chen Mo and Fathila, who heard the sound, rushed out immediately.
Chen Mo couldn't help but frown as he looked at the shattered gray eggs on the ground in front of him and the vulture above Katrin's territory that was glaring at the two of them.
He could feel that it wasn't a coincidence that the vulture appeared here and threw an egg from the sky onto Katrin's territory.
"Not good!
This is the egg of an Undead Spirit Bird. Judging from the yolk, it's not far from hatching a young Undead Spirit Bird! "
Fathila had already run to the place where the grey bird egg had been smashed. After she carefully examined the broken egg, her expression changed as she spoke.
"Dead Soul Bird?" It was the first time Chen Mo had heard of such a monster.
"Dead Soul Birds are monsters that only appear in the depths of the sea. The structure of their tongues is very strange. They only eat corpses, and they can't even eat fresh corpses. They can only eat corpses that have been dead for a long time and are about to rot.
It seems that because of this reason, it is very difficult for the Death Soul Birds to breed. It is not easy for them to breed a descendant. Therefore, the Death Soul Birds naturally attach great importance to their eggs. If anyone dares to touch their eggs, they will fight to the death with that person! "Fatila quickly explained.
Dead Soul Birds attached great importance to their eggs. Now that the eggs of the Dead Soul Birds had been smashed in Katrin's territory, the meaning of Fathila's words was very clear.
Chen Mo suddenly looked at the vulture in the sky. After listening to Fathila's analysis, the vulture's purpose was undoubtedly to make Katrin the target of the Dead Soul Birds!
"Hurry up and get rid of this egg first!"
The vulture in the sky ignored Chen Mo. After throwing down the eggs of the Dead Soul Birds, it flapped its wings and flew away.
Naturally, it was not the vulture's idea to target Katrin. However, Chen Mo did not have time to think about who had ordered the vulture to frame her. The most important thing now was to clean up the smashed eggs of the Dead Soul Birds.
If they cleaned it up, the Dead Soul Birds might not target Katrin.
"No, if the eggs of the Dead Soul Birds are not broken, we can still hide them. The Dead Soul Birds have a special smell. This smell is even stronger in their eggs. Even if we clean it up, there is no way to completely cover up this special smell.
Moreover … I don't think we have the time. "
Fathila looked at the sky in the distance and shook her head as she spoke.
Chen Mo raised his head and saw that the sky in the distance was dark. A large flock of huge grey birds was flying towards Katrin from afar.
Judging from the number, there were at least four to five hundred of these huge grey birds.
Each of the huge birds was three to four meters long. At a glance, they covered the sky and covered the earth. They were like a huge dark cloud, moving quickly towards Katrin.
Dead Soul Birds!
Without needing Fathila to say anything, Chen Mo knew that these Dead Soul Birds were chasing after the vulture.
It would take them at most two to three minutes to reach Katrin. It was impossible to clean up the eggs of the Dead Soul Birds on the ground in two to three minutes.
Needless to say, with the eggs of the Dead Soul Birds broken, the special smell that Fathila mentioned must have spread out. It would be futile to clean it up.
"You go back first and activate the defensive puppets. Then call Enoch out to prepare for battle!"
With so many Dead Soul Birds appearing together, Chen Mo and the other two who were in Katrin's territory would not be able to escape their vigilance. Even if they wanted to hide and wait for the Dead Soul Birds to leave, it would be impossible.
"Alright." Fathila nodded and quickly walked into the house.
As for Enoch, he had already heard the sound and walked out of the house.
Seeing hundreds of Dead Soul Birds flying over, Enoch's expression could not help but change.
Although her strength had increased a lot after obtaining the Witch's Ring, and it was not a problem for her to deal with more than ten Dead Soul Birds at the same time.
But hundreds of Dead Soul Birds, after being surrounded, would not even have a place to hide.
Fortunately, they still had a large number of defensive puppets!
Before the Dead Soul Birds flew close, Fathila released hundreds of defensive puppets from the ground one by one.
The levels of the Dead Soul Birds were not clear, but Chen Mo estimated that they were around Level 60. After all, Katrin had only drifted on the sea for three days and had not drifted too far away. She would not encounter monsters that were too high level.
The defensive puppets could withstand the attacks of the Abyssal monsters, so it would not be a problem for them to withstand the Dead Soul Birds.
Croak!
Croak!
The Dead Soul Birds flew close to Katrin quickly. Before they landed on the ground, they were already crying out angrily.
The special smell of the eggs of the Dead Soul Birds had already told them that the offspring that they had painstakingly given birth to with hundreds of Dead Soul Birds had died before it was even born.
Whoosh!
Looking at the shattered eggs of the Dead Soul Birds below, Chen Mo and the others beside him, hundreds of Dead Soul Birds flapped their wings and swooped down from the sky like bombers.
"Defend!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Chen Mo let the defensive puppets defend against the attacks of the Dead Soul Birds, but something that surprised Chen Mo happened.
The Dead Soul Birds crashed into the bodies of their beloved defensive puppets one by one. The defensive puppets' strong bodies that could withstand the attacks of the Abyssal monsters without being shaken at all, were all knocked down by the Dead Soul Birds. A few defensive puppets were directly knocked to the ground!
"The bodies of these Dead Soul Birds are a little too strong!"
Chen Mo was a little shocked. The bodies of the Dead Soul Birds were like steel, unbelievably strong.
They relied on the advantage of swooping down from the sky and used their steel-like bodies to fight the defensive puppets head-on and gained the upper hand!
"The defense of the Dead Soul Birds is very strong. The best way to deal with them is to use magic attacks," Fathila hurriedly reminded.
Magic attacks, he was just a hunter, where would he get magic attacks?
On the other hand, Enoch's skills should all be magic attacks.
However, Chen Mo did not think that with his attack power, he would not be able to break the defense of the Dead Soul Birds!
Bang!
Chen Mo moved, and the God's Punishment Dagger stabbed into the body of a Dead Soul Bird in front of him. The Dead Soul Bird fell to the ground with a bang, and a damage of more than 10,000 appeared above its head.
More than 10,000 damage was not low, but compared to the Dead Soul Bird's HP of more than a million, it would take a hundred hits to achieve.
With one successful move, Chen Mo used all his skills, except for some powerful ultimate moves like Eternal Stardust, to deal with the Dead Soul Birds.
But even so, Chen Mo's face still darkened when he realized that the situation was very tight with the Dead Soul Birds. The surrounding defensive puppets were obviously receiving more damage than when the Abyssal monsters attacked.
Moreover, there were no players around to help deal damage. If he and Enoch could not kill the Dead Soul Birds quickly, Catelyn would probably be torn apart by the Dead Soul Birds.
After fighting with the Dead Soul Birds for a while, Chen Mo finally killed one Dead Soul Bird, but he realized that the situation was getting worse for him.
If this continued, even if the Everlasting Crystals were used up, it would be difficult to resist the attacks of the Dead Soul Birds.
This could not go on, it was a waste of resources!
The Dead Soul Birds were more powerful than Chen Mo had expected. If he allowed the Dead Soul Birds to wreak havoc, even if Catelyn was not destroyed, most of the resources in his hands would be destroyed.
"Dark Phoenix!"
The situation was getting worse, and Chen Mo did not hesitate to summon the Dark Phoenix.
Second form!
As soon as the Dark Phoenix was summoned, Chen Mo let the Dark Phoenix enter its second form.
After obtaining 30 pieces of Hellfire Crystals, Chen Mo returned to Catelyn's territory. The first thing he did was to raise the Dark Phoenix's favorability to more than 90, in case there were any accidents along the way.
And now, it was obviously time for the Dark Phoenix to make a move.
If it did not make a move, Catelyn's losses would be too great.
Woo!
After changing back to its second form, the Dark Phoenix let out a cheerful cry.
The Dark Phoenix's second form was getting closer and closer to its original size. As soon as it appeared, it occupied most of the surrounding sky.
Boom!
After the Dark Phoenix came out and saw so many Dead Soul Birds as its targets, it did not hesitate and directly spat out a huge black fireball, which exploded in the group of Dead Soul Birds.
