Moke led the way, and Chen Mo did not suspect anything. He strode forward and told the Black Phoenix to wait for orders.
In the second form of the Black Phoenix, as long as he gave the order, it could attack the entire village in an instant. He was not worried that the other party would set a trap for him.
With his current attributes, no matter how powerful this group of NPCs was, they would not be able to kill him instantly. He had nothing to worry about.
Moke led Chen Mo into a wooden house at the end of the village. The interior of the house was very simple, and there was an old man lying on a bed.
The old man was naturally the Great Elder. When he saw Chen Mo walk in, he said apologetically, "I'm sorry, Sir Adventurer. My health is not good, and I can't get out of bed. I can only ask you to come over."
"Cut the crap. I just want to know who ordered you to attack my territory."
Chen Mo waved his hand. He did not intend to be courteous with the Great Elder. He went straight to the point.
"Regarding this matter, Sir Adventurer, since you have come to find me, I naturally do not intend to hide it from you.
However, I'm afraid my answer will not satisfy you, Sir Adventurer. "The Great Elder shook his head slightly.
"Why? Did you sign some kind of contract with the person who ordered you?" Chen Mo asked with a frown.
This wasn't impossible. In the game, players and NPCs could sign all sorts of contracts. If such a contract was really signed, things would indeed be very troublesome. However, there was still a way to get the Great Elder to reveal who the mastermind was. It was just that it might be a little troublesome.
"No.
We did not sign any contract with the person who ordered us to do this. That Adventurer should also know that it is impossible to use a contract to keep it a secret, so she did not request to sign a confidentiality contract with us. However, when she appeared, she was wearing a black robe, so we could not see her face clearly. However, we can be sure that she is a female Adventurer.
She should have powerful companions by her side. We have a deal with her. We will help her lure a group of Necro Birds to a floating island, and she will help us deal with the powerful monsters on the two islands. "
The Great Elder shook his head.
A female Adventurer?
When Chen Mo heard this, he instantly had an idea.
Although there was still no clear answer, it seemed to be the mysterious agent.
Other than her, Chen Mo couldn't think of anyone else.
As for why she covered her face to deceive herself, Chen Mo guessed that the agent didn't want to completely fall out with him. After all, it wasn't impossible for them to cooperate in the future.
Without evidence, it was just a guess. Everything was fine. With evidence, both sides would be at odds with each other.
"That's all we know. I hope this answer will satisfy you, Sir Adventurer," the Great Elder said with a sigh.
"That's fine too. I reckon that I won't be able to get anything out of him even if I ask again.
That's all for now. Let's talk about compensation. "Chen Mo nodded and changed the topic.
He had come all the way here, and he didn't want to just leave after getting an answer.
"Adventurer, what kind of compensation do you want?
We are on an isolated island, and the resources on the island are limited. Adventurer, you have seen what the village looks like. I'm afraid we can't come up with any decent compensation. "The Great Elder was stunned and smiled bitterly.
"There's no hurry to talk about compensation. Let me ask you again. How did you know the location of my territory and lure the Necro Birds over?"
Chen Mo didn't rush to ask how much compensation, but he asked a question he wanted to know very much.
There was a lot of distance between here and the place where Catrin's territory drifted past. At such a distance, the Great Elder and the others could know the location of Catrin and let the vultures attack. This was a bit incredible.
"It's very simple. Our family is all hunters. After a long time, we have developed the ability to communicate with sea beasts and pets.
When I was young, I raised a dolphin. Through that dolphin, I can easily know the location of your territory. "The Great Elder didn't hide anything.
"The ability to communicate with pets?"
Chen Mo couldn't help but think.
This ability was a very good skill for people who have pets.
"Yes, but this ability has a high requirement for both the user and the pet. It's not easy to use. Although my family has an inheritance, there are not many people who can use it." The Great Elder nodded.
"Very well. As for the compensation, I don't want anything else. Just teach me the ability to communicate with pets. I believe it won't be difficult for you, Great Elder." Chen Mo said immediately.
"Of course, no problem. Adventurer, you are also a hunter. In fact, I am very good at hunting beasts. If you are willing to do our village a favor, I can even teach you some experience to improve your ability to catch beasts."
The First Elder nodded. After that, he asked for Chen Mo's help.
Improve his ability to catch beasts. Does this mean that he wants to improve the level of his Capture skill?
Chen Mo used the Capture skill when he caught Big Fat and Ceci Hailow. After that, he didn't use it much and its level hasn't increased.
Although he felt that improving the Capture skill wasn't very useful to him, Chen Mo was still very happy to help the village and then improve the level of the skill.
He can't guarantee that the Capture skill will be useless in the future. Moreover, if the level of the skill is improved, it can save him a lot of time to catch meat shield pets.
"Okay, but I want to know, what do you want me to help with?" With a decision, Chen Mo asked.
"Here's the thing.
More than ten years ago, two giant flaming lava monsters appeared in the interior of this island for some reason.
If it were other monsters, our clan could still deal with them, but the people in our village were extremely afraid of fire attribute monsters.
We lived on the island all year round, and our resistance to fire was very low. It was extremely difficult to get close to the two flaming lava monsters, let alone fight with them.
The masked female adventurer helped us get rid of one of the flaming lava monsters. She said that she would help us get rid of the other one after we succeeded.
Now that we have failed and told her about it, she can't help us anymore.
There is still one more flaming lava monster. I want to ask you to get rid of it. With your strength, it won't be a problem for you to deal with that flaming lava monster. "
The Great Elder said quickly.
"Okay, take me there now."
Chen Mo heard and nodded immediately.
He had to act as soon as possible while the Black Phoenix's second form was still there.
After the Black Phoenix turned into its second form, it only made two or three moves and scared the Necro Bird away. It didn't use much of its power, so it could maintain its second form for much longer than before.
However, a lot of time had passed, and the power of the Black Phoenix's second form was probably about to end. Chen Mo planned to borrow the power of the Black Phoenix before it ended.
Although others could deal with the flaming lava monster, Chen Mo could too, but with the Black Phoenix around, it would save him a lot of trouble.
"Moke, bring this adventurer to the cave where the flaming lava monster is. Be careful not to get too close."
The Great Elder immediately instructed Moke, who was standing quietly at the side.
"Yes, Great Elder." Moke nodded. "Sir adventurer, please follow me."
"Let it bring us there."
The two of them left the Great Elder's wooden house. Moke wanted to bring Chen Mo there on foot, but Chen Mo thought it was too slow. He let the Black Phoenix fly over and let it bring them to where the flaming lava monster was.
There was a dense forest around the village. The Black Phoenix flew over the forest and could see the movements of some birds and beasts below.
"It's there."
However, a black rocky hill soon appeared in the middle of the forest. The forest around the rocky hill was charred black, as if it had been burned down by a fire.
Moke pointed at the black hill and let Chen Mo land.
"The flaming lava monster is underground in this cave."
There was a cave at the side of the black hill. The cave was two to three meters high and slanted downwards.
Damn, this cave was too small. The Black Phoenix could not enter at all!
Chen Mo wanted the Black Phoenix to help, but he realized that the Black Phoenix was too big to enter the cave where the flaming lava monster was.
After thinking about it, Chen Mo decided not to waste the Black Phoenix's energy and kept it.
Moke led the way in. As soon as they entered the cave, a wave of heat rushed over.
"There is an underground cave below the cave. It was originally a volcano crater, and lava would come out occasionally. That flaming lava monster lives in the lava in the cave.
The temperature here is too high. I can't continue. Adventurer, you can only go in alone. "
Halfway through, the walls of the cave were already faintly red, and the temperature had obviously increased.
Moke was sweating profusely. He could not continue.
"Leave it to me."
Estimating that they were not far from the bottom of the cave, Chen Mo left Moke and strode forward alone.
Within a few minutes, Chen Mo arrived at the bottom of the cave.
At the bottom of the cave, there was indeed a volcano crater full of lava. The surrounding walls were red and the temperature was extremely high.
If not for the fact that Chen Mo had eaten the Flaming Rock Fruit and had high fire resistance, he would have started losing HP just by standing there.
After entering, Chen Mo had not seen the flaming lava monster. However, he first saw a black rock egg in the boiling lava.
This rock egg seemed to have been boiled in the lava, which made Chen Mo feel very strange.
Seeing this black rock egg, Chen Mo could not help but recall that he had also kept a black rock egg in the Oceanic Tribe's treasury.
The giant egg was still sitting in his storage room, collecting dust.
"Roar!"
Just as Chen Mo recalled the black rock egg in the warehouse, an angry roar came from the lava.
…
The second one was even worse.
