"Only I can accept it, and no one else can?" Chen Mo asked.
"Yes, the other party did say that!
I didn't expect you to be so secretive. No wonder you didn't accept the Ice River Group's request! "
Fatty Tian didn't know how strong Chen Mo was in the game. He only knew that the company wanted to introduce some more powerful and famous professional players to him in order to keep this request. However, the client refused without hesitation and said that if Chen Mo didn't accept it, they would immediately withdraw the request.
Chen Mo pondered after hearing this. The request was very strange. The client seemed to know what he did in the game last night. Otherwise, they wouldn't have only appointed him.
In the game last night, he was wearing a mask. However, in the three main cities, players could learn the "Scout" skill. Using the Scout skill, even if he was wearing a mask, others could still get his game ID.
Chen Mo didn't find it strange that his game ID was obtained by someone else. If he could get the Scout skill in the Novice Village, it wouldn't be strange for someone else to get the Scout skill.
The problem was that this person should know him and have seen him without a mask in the game. That was why they could find him in real life.
Of course, it could also be that the game company leaked his information.
Other players might not know about him, but everything he did was recorded in the game company. It would be too easy to find out.
Chen Mo had seen too many cases where the company staff sold their customers' information to make extra money. It was possible that someone in the game company sold his information to the client, and the client came looking for him.
Money makes the world go round. From the client's actions, this possibility was not small.
"Brother Chen, you won't refuse this request, right?" Fatty Tian asked nervously when Chen Mo didn't speak.
"Yes, why wouldn't I accept it!
Does that mean that as long as I agree to take the job, I'll be able to get a deposit of $100,000? "Chen Mo quickly reacted and agreed.
The rule of the Worm Company was that once the deposit was taken, it wouldn't be refunded no matter if the mission was successful or not.
Since the client already knew about him, there was no point in hiding it. It would be a waste if he didn't take the money. He would wait and see how the mission went. He didn't believe that if he didn't want to do the mission, the client could force him to do it.
Moreover, he was only a small character at level 10. Although he had a full set of exquisite equipment, it would only allow him to be impressive until he reached level 20. Once he reached level 20, if he did not make much progress in the game, he would only be slightly better off than the average player. Chen Mo was curious. Who was the person who commissioned him? Why did he think so highly of him?
"Hahaha, Brother Chen, you're so straightforward!
As long as you agree, the hundred thousand USD is yours!
However, the client also requested that you complete the first commission for free. "Fatty Tian laughed excitedly when he saw that Chen Mo had agreed.
"What's the first commission?"
Chen Mo asked. Sure enough, there was no such thing as a free lunch in this world. However, he had no reason to reject a $100,000 commission from a game.
"Brother Chen, which main city are you in now?
You must arrive at the City of Shadows before the first commission will be given to you. "
The City of Shadows?
The three main cities were very far apart. It was impossible for a level 10 player to move from one main city to another. Fatty Tian's meaning was very tactful. If Chen Mo went to another main city, he was afraid that Chen Mo would kill himself to get to the City of Shadows.
Chen Mo was still in the Novice Village. It would not be a problem for him to reach the City of Shadows. However, he would still have to wait for more than two days.
Thinking of this, Chen Mo said, "Old Tian, I need at least three days before I can reach the City of Shadows. Your company will contact the client. If you can't wait, then there's no other way."
If Chen Mo was willing, he could reach the City of Shadows in a day as long as he gave up on the Boss follower.
Logically speaking, the Boss follower was not worth $100,000 USD. After all, before a Hunter's second class advancement and took the pet route, the pets they caught could not be leveled up. Although the Boss follower was a monster, it was still only a level 10 Boss. For $100,000 USD, many people would choose to give up the Big Fat follower.
However, Chen Mo did not do so. He wanted to know what the client's attitude was.
He knew nothing about the client. That would be too passive.
"Brother Chen, you don't have to worry about this. The client has given us enough time."
However, Fatty Tian's words made Chen Mo's plan fall through.
Chen Mo did not give up and asked Fatty Tian about the client. However, Fatty Tian's knowledge was limited. Chen Mo could not get anything out of him, so the two hung up.
After hanging up, Chen Mo opened his messages.
"Come back to school this afternoon. Before 4 o 'clock."
"Come back to school before 4 o 'clock. If you don't come back, you'll have to bear the consequences."
There were two messages. The first one was from the class teacher, Su Yuehong. The other one was from the class monitor, Li Yun.
The content of their messages were the same. It seemed that something had happened at school.
Thinking about it, he had not been back to school for almost a month. It was time to go back and show his face.
Chen Mo dawdled at his residence until it was almost 3 o 'clock. Braving the scorching sun, he rode the tram to the University of Nan Hua.
Walking into the computer science department's third year class two classroom, Chen Mo sweated profusely. He found that the class monitor, Li Yun, was the only one inside. The other students were nowhere to be seen.
Damn it, the world has changed after not coming to school for a month.
"You're here?
The school has decided to cancel the computer science department. This is the application form that the school specially prepared for the computer science department. It is valid until 5 o 'clock in the afternoon. After it expires, you will have to go through the normal application process. The other students have already settled it. You're the only one left. "
Li Yun was wearing a white shirt and black trousers. His cultured face had a hint of schadenfreude as he threw a document to Chen Mo.
"The deadline is 5 o 'clock in the afternoon?" Chen Mo frowned.
Chen Mo flipped through it. This was a specialized application form. Although it was very convenient to transfer to another department, there were many procedures. It was definitely not something that could be done in just a few hours.
"What, are you unhappy?
Who can you blame for not coming to class?
For me to be able to inform you at this time, it's already being extremely benevolent! "Li Yun said with a cold smile.
Chen Mo glanced at Li Yun indifferently. He knew that Li Yun had always been unhappy with him.
The reason was very simple. In this class, he was more outstanding than Li Yun.
In his first year, Li Yun recommended himself to be the class monitor. His computer skills were also far superior to his classmates. He was quite famous in the entire computer science department.
At that time, Chen Mo not only did not skip class for a whole month like he did now, but he also immersed himself in studying every day. In a whole year, he self-studied nearly three years' worth of university courses.
Therefore, at the beginning of his second year, when Chen Mo learned most of the remaining university courses, Chen Mo rarely appeared in the classroom except for the necessary class hours.
In the second year, computer science students could participate in the annual computer competition that was regarded as a major event by the entire computer science department. At least two people from each class had to participate.
In Chen Mo's class, Li Yun naturally signed up for it. What made all the classmates puzzled was that the class teacher, Su Yuehong, forced Chen Mo to participate as well.
When the results came out, all of his classmates were shocked. Chen Mo had shocked the world with a single brilliant feat and obtained a good result of third place!
In the history of the University of South China's computer science department, few people could get the top three in the computer science competition as a sophomore.
Li Yun, who they thought highly of, only got the tenth place.
The students in the class began to pay attention to Chen Mo. Then, they were surprised to find that this classmate, who had always been quiet, seemed to be hiding something. He didn't come to class, but his scores on various exams were not low. Especially some difficult questions that others didn't know, he could answer correctly. It must be known that these questions, even Li Yun couldn't solve them.
Li Yun, who had always been high and mighty in the class, was suddenly compared. It was difficult for him to have the status and superiority of the past.
Although Chen Mo rarely came to school, he could feel the faint jealousy in Li Yun's eyes. He just did not expect that Li Yun did not take the opportunity to retaliate against him at this time.
Chen Mo rarely came to school, but his popularity could not be said to be bad. He also told the two classmates in the class to inform him if there was anything important.
With mobile phones these days, informing someone was just a matter of a call or a text message. However, these two people did not tell him about the transfer.
Looking at Li Yun, who had a proud look in his eyes, Chen Mo had some guesses in his heart. However, it was still a guess. In the end, this matter was caused by him not coming to school for a whole month.
"Got it. I will deal with the transfer myself." Chen Mo nodded, put away the transfer application, and turned to walk out of the classroom.
Looking at Chen Mo's back, the pride in Li Yun's eyes gradually turned into anger!
He had spent so much effort just to see Chen Mo lose his composure in anger and hysteria, but this guy was still the same. It was just like when he had gotten third place in the competition, and he didn't care at all!
"Pretend!
You continue to pretend!
One day, I will tear off your hypocritical mask! "
In the empty classroom, Li Yun slammed the table fiercely!
Because of this guy, he lost too many things that should have belonged to him!
