If he couldn't escape successfully, there was no point in stealing. Before he dared to carry out his plan, Morus didn't dare to tell anyone about his plan. Otherwise, he would be caught by Kannek's men before he could make a move.
Later on, he came into contact with the Celestial Tribe by chance and knew that they could give him the Resplendent Emerald. Only then did Morus complete the Celestial Tribe's request.
He thought that he would be able to get the Resplendent Emerald after returning from the dangerous Country of Desolation. However, he didn't expect that there would be an accident.
Morus wanted to ask Chen Mo to return to the Celestial Tribe to get the Resplendent Emerald. However, he also knew about the Celestial Tribe's current situation. After Chen Mo returned, he might not return. In that case, the token that he had painstakingly brought back from the Country of Desolation would be useless.
Rather than that, Morus felt that it would be better to ask Chen Mo to help him steal the Resplendent Emerald from Kannek.
After hearing Morus's explanation, Chen Mo agreed without hesitation. In fact, Morus had made a lot of preparations and was just short of taking action.
Morus asked him to help because he wanted to use him as a shield to be hunted down by Kannek.
However, Chen Mo had no choice now. Even if he had a choice, Chen Mo would have agreed.
He was now wanted by the Angel Tribe. There was no difference if Kannek wanted him. No matter how powerful Kannek's wanted list was, it was not as powerful as the Angel Tribe's wanted list.
The two discussed for a while and decided to take action overnight.
"Follow me. We'll go in through the sewer here."
After the two of them made some preparations separately, Morus brought Chen Mo to a remote sewer entrance in Yellow Sand City.
It was indeed a sewer.
Chen Mo muttered in his heart.
When he heard Morus say that he had already dug an underground tunnel under Kannek's residence, Chen Mo had a hunch. Otherwise, with Morus's strength, it was impossible for him to dig a long underground tunnel.
This wasn't the first time Chen Mo had seen sewers. He had entered sewers when he was in East Sea Metropolis and Katrin, so he was no stranger to sewers.
Morus was very familiar with the sewers of Yellow Sand City. Even though the sewers were dark and there were many places without lights, Morus still moved quickly with Chen Mo.
Morus was not lying when he said that he had dug an underground tunnel under Cornell.
There was a hidden place in the sewers. After Morus removed the cover, an extremely narrow underground passage was revealed. People could only crawl in.
Chen Mo was speechless.
It was no wonder that Morus had asked for his help. If Morus had not asked for his help, he would not have been able to escape if he had been caught stealing.
The speed of crawling in this tunnel was extremely high, but there was a limit. If he was discovered, before he could crawl out, the other party would come to the sewers and intercept him. There was no chance for him to escape.
"I've already confirmed the end of this passageway. Once we reach the end and push open the bricks above, we'll reach Cornell's treasure room.
Cornell's jewels are all protected by magic arrays. Once touched, an alarm will sound.
After you enter, what you need to do is to stop Cornell's guards at the door after I trigger the alarm. Don't let them enter the treasure room until I get the Resplendent Gemstone and successfully escape.
If I'm caught, I won't be able to hand over the Celestial Tribe's token to you even if I want to. "
Before entering the passageway, Morus reminded Chen Mo again.
"Got it. Let's go in." Chen Mo nodded.
According to Morus' information, the guards in Cornell's house were between Level 65 and Level 70. He would not have a problem holding them off for some time.
After receiving confirmation, Morus took the lead and crawled into the passageway.
After crawling slowly for about 20 meters in the passageway, Morus reached the end and placed his palm on the bricks above his head. When he felt that there was no sound in the treasure room, he pushed hard and removed the bricks above him.
Morus crawled out of the passageway, and Chen Mo followed closely behind.
After coming out of the passageway, Chen Mo saw that they were in a corner of the treasure room.
It seemed that Morus had put in a lot of effort to get the Resplendent Emerald.
"So many gemstones!"
Following which, Chen Mo looked around and could not help but be surprised.
There were a large number of rare gemstones in this treasure room. Many of them were the size of a fist and emitted a dazzling light.
There was no light source in the treasure room, but the light emitted by these rare gemstones illuminated the entire treasure room.
Morus ran to a green, polymorphic gemstone. Through the transparent magic barrier, Morus' eyes flashed with a hint of passion.
"Hurry up and get ready. I'm going to make my move!"
Morus looked at Chen Mo and said impatiently.
He had waited too long for this Resplendent Emerald.
"These magic barriers are not simple. Can you break them in a short period of time?"
Previously, when Chen Mo heard Morus' plan, he had thought that the magic barriers set up by Cornell would be easy to break. However, after seeing it for himself, Chen Mo knew that if he and Big Fatty worked together, it would take at least three minutes to break through some of the main magic barriers.
Meanwhile, the time given to them was, in reality, a minute and a half at most.
Cornell's guards would be easy to stop. However, once Cornell's guards realized that they could not enter the treasure room immediately, they would request help from Yellow Sand City's guards.
Yellow Sand City's guards were all Level 75. If a few of them came, they would not be able to stop them.
Meanwhile, if Morus wanted to escape successfully, he would have to destroy the magic barriers within 30 seconds. Otherwise, it would be very difficult to guarantee that he could escape successfully.
Chen Mo doubted whether Morris could accomplish such a feat with his current strength. After all, Morris was only Level 70.
Meanwhile, Morus's NPC template was clearly only a Level 70 Common template. It was far from comparable to an Elite template NPC. Even if Morus's level was high, his strength was limited. Take Chen Mo for example, he could take on a dozen Level 70 Morus by himself.
"Relax, I've long since made preparations!
So long as you do as I say and wait until the city guards arrive, I will definitely be able to leave safely! "
Morus waved his hand, telling Chen Mo not to worry.
Seeing this, Chen Mo did not say anything else.
Inside Cornell's treasure room, there were a large number of gemstones that Chen Mo had never seen before. It would be a lie if Chen Mo said that he did not have any interest in this place. However, time was limited. Right now, Morus's reward was more important. Hence, Chen Mo did not consider taking advantage of this opportunity to steal some gemstones.
However, Chen Mo still hurriedly swept his gaze through the room, sweeping all the gemstones that he had never seen before into his mind.
Chen Mo followed Morus to the entrance of the treasure room. At this moment, a loud alarm sounded. Morus had made his move.
Chen Mo did not think too much about it. With a move of his hand, he pushed open the door of the treasure room and exited.
It was easy to open the door from the outside, but it was very easy to open it from the inside.
"Alarm?
Someone wants to steal my gemstones?
Guards!
Hurry up and see what's going on! "
In another tall building, a middle-aged fatty was awakened by the alarm. When he woke up, he was shocked and hurriedly shouted.
In fact, there was no need for Cornell to shout. The guards had already rushed to the treasure room.
"Mutated monster?
What a huge mutated monster! "
The guards arrived in front of the treasure room and saw a mutated lion.
This was a mutated lion that had fused with the power of a demon. Its body was nearly twice the size of an ordinary lion, and there were black patterns on its body.
It was already very impressive for an ordinary mutated lion to be half the size of an ordinary lion. When the guards saw this mutated lion that was twice the size of an ordinary lion, they could not help but be shocked.
Under the pressure of the huge mutated lion, the three guards slowed down their footsteps.
This mutated lion was, of course, released by Chen Mo to confuse the guards.
Although he did not mind being wanted, it was better to avoid trouble. If possible, he did not want to be wanted by Cornell.
As for the solution, Chen Mo also thought of one. He would use the mutated lion to block the enemy.
Chen Mo had three mount slots. The Spirit Queen and the mutated squirrel each occupied one.
After reaching Level 65, Chen Mo caught a Level 70 mutated lion as a backup while the surrounding monsters mutated and their strength increased greatly.
A Level 70 mutated lion could still be of some use if the Spirit Queen attached herself to it.
The reason why the mutated lion was so huge was because the Spirit Queen was already attached to it.
"Roar!"
The Spirit Queen controlled the mutated lion to intimidate the guards who came forward.
…
The third one was even worse.
