Chen Mo walked towards Serena. Serena's eyes shifted and she turned to look at Chen Mo.
Serena sized up Chen Mo as he walked towards her. She nodded and said, "You're not bad. You're much better than those youngsters. You're even better than the three I met a few days ago."
The three I met a few days ago?
Chen Mo was slightly astonished. Based on Serena's words, before he came, three people had come to her and left a good impression on her.
This was no simple matter.
After meeting Serena up close, Chen Mo was certain that Serena's good impression of him was not because of his title as the Fallen.
Unlike Gleason, Serena's blue eyes did not contain Gleason's jealousy and hatred. It was very likely that she liked him because of various factors.
Reputation, favorability, honor, and so on. Perhaps the title of the Fallen was useful, but it was definitely not the main factor.
"Master Serena, I have heard some things about you from Bobol," Chen Mo stepped forward and said respectfully.
"Humph!
It's that little fatty again. Other than him, I'm afraid that no one in the City of Shadows still remembers me, "Serena coldly groaned and looked at Chen Mo." Why are you here?
Let me tell you, you are so weak. I don't have anything that I need your help with. "
Do you need help just because you've grown stronger?
Chen Mo thought to himself. He then explained, "Bobol said that you know a special medicine refinement technique."
"You want to learn it?" Serena looked at Chen Mo with narrowed eyes.
"Yes!"
Serena remained silent as though she was thinking. Chen Mo did not disturb her. If Serena was not willing to teach him, she would have rejected him directly. But since she was thinking, it meant that she had a chance.
After pondering for a while, Serena said, "It's not that I can't teach you, but over the years, I've suffered a lot because of this Alchemy technique and have seen many ungrateful people, so I won't teach you for free.
I have two requirements. As long as you can fulfill one of them, I will teach you. "
"No problem!"
Chen Mo hurriedly said. Learning skills from quests was a matter of course. He did not expect to learn the skill just by talking to Serena.
"Firstly, Bobol has a Crimson Cat's Eye Stone. Secondly, I've been very poor recently and need 100 gold coins.
As long as you bring me the Crimson Cat's Eye Stone or give me 100 gold coins, I will teach you the Blood Refining Technique! "Serena said slowly.
When he heard that he had to choose one of the two, Chen Mo thought that the task wouldn't be too difficult. However, after Serena told him what he had to do, Chen Mo realized that this was simply a scam.
Crimson Cat's Eye Stone, one could tell that it was a rare and valuable item. Moreover, it was in the hands of that greedy fatty Bobol.
With his Level 13 Purple necklace being sold for 188 gold coins, it would be impossible for him to sell this Crimson Cat's Eye Stone for less than a few hundred gold coins!
Even if Bobol had a quest, it would be equivalent to a few hundred gold coins. As a Level 10 player, he probably didn't even have the qualifications to accept a quest!
The second one was straightforward, but 100 gold coins was no different from robbery!
Right now, only real tycoons could take out 100 gold coins. Even tycoons might not be able to take it out. After all, the amount of money in the hands of players right now was pitifully small. It wasn't something that could be collected as and when one wanted to.
However, Serena also said that the skill she was going to teach was called "Blood Refining Technique". This skill didn't sound very good. If it was any other player, they would be willing to spend 100 gold coins to learn it.
This wasn't a skill that could be learned just because one wanted to. There were so many players begging Serena, but Serena didn't pay much attention to them.
"What, are you regretting it?" Seeing that Chen Mo didn't speak, Serena raised her eyebrows.
"Of course not!
Master Serena, please wait for my good news! "Chen Mo immediately replied.
"Okay, I'll give you three days. If you can't fulfill both conditions, then just pretend that I didn't say anything."
Serena gave him the quest time limit.
System Notification: You have accepted the quest "Serena's Request".
Quest: Serena's Request
Quest Difficulty: Unknown
Quest Details: Obtain "Crimson Cat's Eye Stone" or "100 gold coins"
Quest Time Limit: Three days
Quest Reward: Serena will teach you the skill "Blood Refining Technique".
Seeing the system notification, Chen Mo let out a sigh of relief.
In the game, there were mainly two types of quests. The first type was the quests that appeared on the quest panel.
As long as this type of quest was completed, the reward would definitely not be reduced.
The other type was a verbal agreement with an NPC. However, the final quest reward might not be the same as what was initially agreed upon. There were even situations where the NPC would go back on their word. There were already some players on the forums who had been cheated.
However, when this type of quest was completed, it was possible to obtain a better reward than what was agreed upon.
After accepting the quest, Chen Mo turned around and prepared to go find Bobol.
Although he felt that it was unlikely that he could obtain the Crimson Cat's Eye Stone from Bobol, he still had to try.
However, at this time, three players walked towards him.
Two men and one woman. The three of them had decent equipment, especially the man and woman who were closer to each other. Chen Mo glanced at them and could see that their equipment was most likely green or even purple.
The other man's equipment was a bit worse. From his attitude towards the two, this man seemed to be their follower.
The follower stepped forward and blocked Chen Mo. "What did you say to Serena just now?"
"It's none of your business," Chen Mo replied bluntly. He didn't even know the most basic of manners. He didn't need to be polite with him.
The follower's expression changed and he was about to explode.
Although they didn't get close, they could tell that Serena's attitude was definitely triggered by something!
However, at this time, the gentle-looking man beside the female player waved his hand and told him to go away.
"Sorry brother, this follower of mine doesn't know how to speak.
Let me introduce myself. The three of us are from Soaring Cloud Guild. I'm White Feather, a core member of Soaring Cloud Guild. She's Ling Yue, an elder of Soaring Cloud Guild. She's from the Ling Family Financial Group in reality. "
White Feather only introduced him and Ling Yue, not the follower. It seemed that he really was the follower. When he introduced Ling Yue, Ling Yue's chest was raised a bit higher.
Soaring Cloud Guild wasn't very famous in the game, but when it came to the Ling Family Financial Group, there weren't many people who didn't know about it in reality.
Normal players couldn't help but feel inferior when facing people from such a large financial group.
However, Chen Mo had never been interested in these financial groups.
"What does this have to do with me?" Chen Mo's attitude didn't change because of White Feather's politeness.
"Brother, don't misunderstand. We're not trying to show off. We just want to let you know that if you can provide us with some information that others don't know, we won't mistreat you!" White Feather smiled.
"I don't know anything. Even if I know, I won't tell you." Chen Mo couldn't be bothered to waste time with them. He turned around and walked away.
The follower was furious. He moved his feet and wanted to stop him.
Chen Mo's eyes flashed with a cold light. He wanted to kill him.
This guy was used to doing whatever he wanted in reality. Did he want to do the same in the game too?
"Stop!" However, White Feather called out to the follower.
No one stopped him. Chen Mo couldn't be bothered to argue with them and walked away.
"Little Yue, you should change your follower. If this continues, I'm afraid you will let down your sister's expectations." After Chen Mo walked away, White Feather glanced at the follower and calmly spoke.
Ling Yue's expression changed. She coldly said to the follower, "Qi Mo, go to the human resources department to collect your salary tomorrow!"
When Qi Mo heard this, he instantly panicked. "Miss Ling, please give me a chance. There won't be a next time!"
"There's no need to fire him. Since he can follow you, he has some capabilities. Change his position." White Feather shook her head.
"Thank you, Big Brother White!"
Qi Mo hurriedly thanked her. However, in his heart, he hated that fellow. If it wasn't for him, he wouldn't have almost been fired!
…
Three hours later, Chen Mo came out from the jewelry store.
Chen Mo looked for Bobo regarding the Crimson Cat's Eye Stone. However, this time around, Bobo pretended to be confused and said he had never heard of it before.
From Bobo's attitude, Chen Mo knew that even if he bribed him, this fellow wouldn't agree.
There was no other way. Right now, he could only take another path.
100 gold coins was a huge sum of money. However, Chen Mo was still able to take it out.
No matter what, he had killed over ten mutated bosses in the beginner village. He had over 100 blue and green equipment on him. If he sold them all, it wouldn't be a problem for him to exchange them for 100 gold coins.
…
The first step was even worse.
