The naval fleets had been fooled by Katrina for two days. Knowing that this was a waste of time and manpower, the various kingdoms and empires decided to give up for the time being.
Faced with a city that could dive at any time and travel at astonishing speeds underwater, they had no way of dealing with it.
After Catelyn dived, they also thought of sending soldiers who were good at diving to attack her. However, they discovered that they could not get close to Catelyn at all.
Although they wanted nothing more than to occupy Catelyn immediately, they had no choice but to give up in the face of Catelyn's powerful diving abilities.
Peace finally returned to the eastern part of the Holy Sea. The pirates in the eastern part of the sea could not help but breathe a sigh of relief.
Afterward, the surviving pirate teams discovered that at least half of the pirate teams in the eastern part of the sea had suffered. Now was the perfect time for them to develop.
Meanwhile, not too far away from the Blackflag Pirates' area of activity, Catelyn quietly floated on the sea's surface.
After this incident, Catelyn's population had once again suffered a heavy blow. Eighty percent of the NPCs that had previously stationed themselves in Catelyn had escaped before the battle began. As a result, Catelyn's population had fallen to an extremely low point.
However, Chen Mo did not mind. Now was the time for Catelyn to truly develop.
The people who had previously escaped from Catelyn were most likely already regretting their actions. After this incident, Catelyn would soon be known by everyone on the Holy Continent.
After Catelyn's system was perfected and slightly opened, it would be overcrowded. The population could be as high as one wanted.
During the two days of being chased at sea, there were not many things that could be done. Chen Mo only did one thing, and that was to build a large library.
Previously, he had not had the time to deal with the books he had brought back from Undersea City. During these two days, while he had time, Chen Mo decided to build a library.
After all, the days at sea were different from those on land. There were not many places to go. With a library, things would be much more convenient.
Meanwhile, Enoch, Fatira, and You Ji were all in favor of the establishment of a library.
With so many people's hopes, Chen Mo naturally wanted to complete it as soon as possible.
"Alright, it's finally done."
In Katrin's city system, there was a special library management system. Chen Mo built a library and moved all the books into it. Then, he made the relevant settings on the library management system one by one. The system notified him that the library had been established.
"Sir Adventurer, I have asked Tana to help adjust the city's diving system. After this adjustment, the system's energy consumption will be greatly reduced.
Of course, if you continue to move quickly in the deep sea, the energy consumption will still be huge, but if you just stay still, the energy consumption will be lower than when you were in the Undersea City. "
When Chen Mo was celebrating the establishment of the library, Otto and Tana also came to report.
The city diving system was quite complicated. Fortunately, Otto was there. Otherwise, even if Chen Mo obtained the city diving system, it would be useless.
Previously, although he could use the city diving system, it was installed on Katrin in a hurry. In a hurry, there were naturally many problems.
In the past two days, after continuous testing, Ao Tuo had finally adjusted the city diving system to a perfect state.
Chen Mo had been using the city diving system nonstop for the past two days. Other than making the kingdoms and empires give up and helping the Blackflag Pirates eliminate their competitors, he also had the goal of testing and adjusting the city diving system.
"Very good."
Chen Mo nodded. There were no problems with the city diving system. With the Sky Tree, the city flight system could also be used. Only, there were not many functions for now.
System prompt: The city has both the city diving system and the city flight system. Condition 2 met …
System prompt: Checking for tools … proof of qualification!
System prompt: Checking for identity … not an assessment target!
System prompt: Special condition 3 met. Special development path unlocked …
When Chen Mo opened the city diving system and the city flight system, after confirming and making some adjustments, several system prompts rang out one after another.
Looking at these several system prompts, Chen Mo could not help but be stunned.
System prompt: Due to special conditions, your territory has evolved from an ordinary city to a strategic city. You now have two paths to choose from.
Path 1: Ordinary Player Path.
Under this path, for every level up of the strategic city, you will receive a large number of rewards from the system. Both the city and you will become increasingly powerful.
Path 2: Special Development Path.
If you have any questions about the game and wish to know the answer, you can choose this path.
Under this path, if you can develop the strategic city to the highest level and achieve the highest goal, the system will answer all your questions.
However, under this path, the development of the strategic city will no longer receive the system's assistance. Correspondingly, you will receive some hints that will help with development.
Please note that once the path is chosen, it cannot be changed.
The following system prompts appeared one after another. It would have been better if Chen Mo did not read them. After reading them, his pupils could not help but shrink.
"Hahahaha!"
Looking at these system prompts, Chen Mo could not help but laugh wildly when he came to his senses.
After entering the game and playing until now, his strength was already close to the strongest in the game. However, his understanding of the game was not as good as a core member of a financial group.
However, now, after Catelyn changed from an ordinary territory to a strategic city, the path that appeared gave him a chance to understand everything!
He did not need to ask for help. As long as he worked hard to develop Catelyn, he would be able to understand everything that he wanted to know!
Chen Mo had too many things that he wanted to understand about this game!
"I choose path 2!"
Without even thinking, Chen Mo decisively made a choice.
In the beginning, when he developed Catelyn, he was interested in the choice of gold coins. However, now, gold coins did not have much meaning to him. The reward for developing Catelyn was the most, so he did not value it too much.
Path 2 did not have the system reward. In the future, when he developed it, his financial resources might be tight, but he had plenty of ways to make money.
System Prompt: Path 2 … Choice confirmed!
System Prompt: The city has officially changed to a beginner strategic city. The city system has changed. The next level is an intermediate strategic city. Please confirm the upgrade conditions in the city system!
The system prompt sounded. Chen Mo immediately opened the city system. At first glance, he found that the system had indeed undergone a huge change.
Previously, when Catelyn was upgraded, she needed attributes such as population, finance, technology, and so on. Now that those attributes had disappeared, the upgrade conditions were completely different.
Intermediate strategic city upgrade conditions:
Intermediate city diving system – 100% completion.
Intermediate city flight system – 70% completion.
Intermediate strategic library – 100% completion (Condition: There are enough books about magic and technology in the library)
Intermediate defense system – 100% completion.
Intermediate talent reserve – 30% completion (Condition: Potioneering, tailoring, blacksmithing … at least three intermediate professions.)
Intermediate Artisan Worker – Completion 0% (Condition: The development of a strategic city cannot be separated from artisan workers. Many facilities require artisan workers to complete. At least 10 artisan workers are required.)
…
Different from the upgrade of a normal territory, the upgrade of a strategic city was much more complicated.
However, Catelyn's foundation was obviously good. Although there were many upgrade conditions, Catelyn had already met many of them. She was not too far away from upgrading to an intermediate strategic city.
Chen Mo glanced at the upgrade of the strategic city level. After beginner, it was intermediate, advanced, and the highest level.
Right now, it was not far from intermediate. Only two more levels and it would be able to upgrade to the highest level.
After upgrading to the highest level, he would be able to know everything.
Seeing this, Chen Mo was suddenly energized.
However, after calming down, Chen Mo also knew that it would not be easy to upgrade to the highest level.
Right now, the requirements for upgrading from beginner to intermediate were already quite complicated. If he wanted to upgrade to the highest level, he would need to do a lot of things.
Upgrading could not be rushed. It had to be done slowly.
However, to upgrade the city to intermediate first, it seemed that as long as he found a few more talents and 10 skilled workers, the city would be able to upgrade. Of course, Chen Mo wanted to upgrade to an intermediate strategic city first. He wanted to confirm the requirements for the next level so that he could prepare for the upgrade in advance.
…
The first level was even better.
