"This time I actually want to ask little brother to do me a favor?" Zang Haisheng took out a box of exquisite cigarettes from the drawer and handed one to Luo Kai.
Luo Kai hasn't smoked for a long time, so he lit it and took a puff. The cigarette tastes mellow and is not an ordinary product. He thought that it must not be a trivial matter for Zang Haisheng to open his mouth. He said, "Uncle Zang, if I encounter some injustice, I will not stand by. That's why I saved Little Zhuo last time, but human power is limited. I can't change the situation, and I have no intention to participate in some trouble."
Zang Haisheng smiled bitterly and said, "This time I actually want to ask little brother to help me introduce a person, and I will never make it difficult for little brother."
Luo Kai had some doubts: "Introduce?
I don't know any big shots. "
Zang Haisheng pondered for a while and said, "Little brother, do you know the situation in Longyang County?
Seeing Luo Kai shaking his head, he continued: "In Longyang County, the three forces are the most powerful. The City Lord, Lang Zhengnan, occupies the righteous position and is in charge of 100,000 government troops. The second is the Jiu Yuan farm village. Although they are not powerful in Longyang County, they are extremely powerful in the counties and villages under their jurisdiction. Then there is my Blackstone. If the three forces were balanced before, they occupied politics, business and agriculture respectively. They did not interfere with each other and cooperated with each other."
Zang Haisheng took a deep breath and frowned: "Now with the Dragon Shark pirates entering Longyang County, this balance has been broken. The Dragon Shark pirates have joined forces with the Jiu Yuan farm village to form the Dragon Shark Business Group and officially enter the business world. The City Lord, Lang Zhengnan, is also very ambiguous with them.
These days, they have joined forces to find all kinds of reasons to cut off Blackstone Heavy Industry's supply and sales channels. Other than the military factory, Blackstone Heavy Industry has been forced to stop production. It means that Blackstone Heavy Industry has to deal with these three forces at the same time. The key is that Blackstone Heavy Industry does not belong to me alone. I only have 20% of the shares. The biggest shareholder is actually the Highlord's Residence!
Luo Kai frowned and said, "Since Blackstone's backer is the Great Lord, then there's even less to worry about. No matter how powerful the local forces are, they are still no match for the Great Lord. As long as the war stops, I believe that the Great Lord will not sit idly by."
Zang Haisheng smiled bitterly and said, "If only the Highlord was on the same side as me."
"What do you mean?"
Zang Haisheng sighed. "The outside world doesn't know about this, so I won't hide it from you, little brother. Actually, one of the conditions of the Dragonshark Pirates was to participate in military production. The Highlord's Residence has already transferred the shares of Blackstone to them!"
Luo Kai was a little surprised. "Does that mean Blackstone will belong to the Dragon Shark Pirates in the future?"
Zang Haisheng shook his head. "Not at the moment. I can only say that they are the largest shareholders. They have not taken over the management rights yet. I have 20% of the shares, my brother has 15%, and the other small shareholders together have 30%. My brother has never supported me to fully lean towards the Highlord's Residence. Now it seems that he was right."
"This Great Lord is a little unreliable. Isn't this asking a tiger for its skin?" Luo Kai was speechless.
"I know what the Great Lord is thinking. He wants to win the war at the frontlines and seize control of the Eternally Iron Vein. Then, he will use the momentum of his great victory to reorganize the internal affairs and reduce the local forces. However, war is a quagmire. Once you are trapped in it, it will be difficult to pull yourself out. Even if you win, it will be a pyrrhic victory. If you lose, you will lose everything.
"Isn't this the same as gambling?"
Zang Haisheng nodded. "Yes, it is gambling. Lord Lang Zhengnan is waiting for the outcome of this gamble. In the early years, the Great Lord was just a local lord. When the former Great Lord lost in the battle with the pirates, Lang Zhengnan took advantage of the situation to rise up. He joined forces with other forces to force the Great Lord to abdicate his position and become the Great Lord in one fell swoop."
Luo Kai felt a headache coming on. It was difficult to change the deep-rooted bad habits of humans. Even if the current situation was so bad, and humans were almost forced to the two sides of the world by the Direbeasts, they still did not forget to fight for power.
Zang Haisheng hesitated and said softly, "In fact, there is an extremely powerful force, but they have never participated in the internal strife of humans …
"You mean Liu Hou?"
Luo Kai thought of something. Among the people he knew, only Liu Hou could be considered to have some status. However, the strength of an individual was ultimately insignificant, even if he was a Physique Warrior.
Zang Haisheng looked at him expectantly. "Yes, Liu Hou is not only the vice-principal of Panseok Sports School, but also a member of Seongma Province's Body Arts Research Association. The Body Arts Research Association has a high status, and its members are all in the upper echelons of politics, military, and business. They are very close. If Liu Hou can represent the Body Arts Research Association to make a statement, no local force would dare to make things difficult for Blackstone!"
Luo Kai was in a difficult position. He did not have a good relationship with Liu Hou. Even if he asked, Liu Hou would probably not agree.
Zang Haisheng said bitterly, "If there is no other way, I can only break up Blackstone and give the military factory to the Dragon Shark Pirates. However, once these notorious pirates obtain advanced military supplies, I'm afraid that they will become even more unscrupulous. When that time comes, the ones who will suffer will be the people of Seongma Province."
Luo Kai sighed inwardly. There were things that a man should do and things that he should not do. Some things could not be avoided. He nodded and agreed. "Okay, I will go back and tell Liu Hou."
Zang Haisheng was overjoyed. "Whether it works or not, I have to thank you, little brother."
After that, he took out a contract from the drawer. "Little brother, I know that you have a simple personality, but as long as you live in this world, you will need money. This is an employment contract. I, Blackstone, would like to hire you as a supervisor. You will not be responsible for specific matters and will not be under anyone's command. Twenty thousand star dollars a month."
Luo Kai did not refuse this time and signed his name. Now, he could receive a salary of thirty thousand dollars a month. In the entire Seongma Province, he was considered a high-income person.
…
As Luo Kai expected, when he found an excuse to tell Liu Hou about this matter, Liu Hou's fat face immediately pulled a long face. He scolded mercilessly, "Brat, what do you know? Do you think that Zang Haisheng is a good person?
Do you know how he made a fortune in his early years?
His younger brother is the leader of the biggest gang in Longyang City, the Sand Hammer Gang. He has countless hired thugs and forces all businesses to join the Longyang Chamber of Commerce. He sets the price of goods at will. Everyone, from big factories to small merchants and peddlers, is oppressed by him. Do you know this? "
Luo Kai's face turned red from the scolding. He scolded in his heart, "I have lived two lives. How can I not understand this principle? There is no such thing as black and white in this world!"
He made up his mind to not get involved in these disputes. He simply buried himself in the sports school's library and studied the knowledge of physical skills systematically.
After the Catastrophe, physical skills had been developed for hundreds of years. It had become a new comprehensive discipline. Not only did it study the way of self-cultivation and fighting, but it also studied the evolution of life on a deeper level!
Evolution had never stopped since the birth of life. Life had always been changing according to the changes in the outside world. Until now, the speed of evolution had suddenly accelerated. Even in a day, there could be terrible changes. The birth of the Ferocious Beast was because of this.
Luo Kai found the specific appearance of the Ferocious Beast in a simple picture book. It was a terrible creature covered with an exoskeleton. It looked like a rat that had been magnified dozens of times. The ribs in its chest expanded outward from its spine, forming bone spurs that wrapped its body inside. Its mouth was sharp, and the bone spurs were ferocious. It was incomparably fierce.
The picture book described it as, "Bone Beast, a Ferocious Beast that lives in groups. It is bloodthirsty and cruel. Its whole body is covered with hard armor. It is good at burrowing underground and has extremely high intelligence."
