Starting early in the morning, the Dark Thunder Guard carried out a great purge!
Under Heavenly Venerable Hei Yan's tacit approval and the joint efforts of the three general managers, the entire Li Family's forces were uprooted in a short day!
The Li Family's two Unity of Heaven realm experts, Li Jue Ge and Li Family's Fourth Uncle, had suffered from the backlash of the Spiritual Attachment Technique. Their old injuries had yet to heal, and after learning that Li Jue Cheng had died, they were even more anxious.
They could not personally go to the scene and could only wait for the result at home. However, the result they waited for was a disaster!
Eunuch Gao, General Manager Hai, and Shentu Zhen personally took action and beheaded Li Jue Ge and Li Family's Fourth Uncle in a few moves. They did not even have time to say that Li Jue Cheng had gone to hunt down Leng Shiqi before they died with hatred.
They also framed Li Jue Cheng and the Li Family with one heinous crime after another, declaring that Li Jue Cheng reaped what he sowed and that they were cleaning up the family.
In this way, the Dark Thunder Guard's face was saved, and they also gained the reputation of being righteous and upright.
That day, the Dark Thunder Guard headquarters was filled with the smell of blood. Corpses were carried out one after another, piling up into a mountain of corpses!
It was not until evening that Heavenly Venerable Hei Yan summoned all the people above the inspector rank to gather in the conference hall.
Leng Shiqi was naturally present. After taking his seat, he found that there were only about three-quarters of the people left, and there were only about twenty deputy general managers.
Even if some people were out on missions, it was impossible for there to be only so few people. It seemed that within this day, many of the Dark Thunder Guard's upper echelons had died.
Of course, in the near future, this place would be full of people again. However, at that time, the Dark Thunder Guard headquarters' forces would have been reshuffled.
Everyone present sat upright and still, not daring to neglect in the slightest, and not daring to make the slightest sound.
This time, not only did the general come to the conference, but everyone also personally experienced today's purge. They were all extremely shocked.
The Li Family, which had been rooted in the Dark Thunder Guards for so long, was destroyed so easily. The Dark Thunder Guards changed so quickly, which made it difficult for most people to adapt in a short time.
After everyone arrived, Empyrean Black Flame finally appeared. He said, "This Empyrean has already reported Li Juecheng's death to His Majesty. Li Juecheng deserved his punishment, but we cannot allow the murderer to go unpunished. We must continue to investigate.
His Majesty meant that in order not to delay the plan to annihilate many powerful sects, the Dark Thunder Guards could not be lost.
Therefore, we will elect a successor to the position of the fourth Grand Chief within two days! "
As soon as he said that, a commotion broke out in the meeting hall. The eyes of the Deputy General Managers lit up!
According to the rules of the Dark Thunder Guards, every deputy general manager had the qualifications to become one of the four general managers. Perhaps one of them could become the fourth general manager!
That would truly be standing at the peak of the mountain of authority. With just this identity, one could do whatever they wanted in the Thunderflame Dynasty.
Empyrean Black Flame raised his hand, and the crowd immediately quieted down. "In the past, strength, ability, and meritorious service were indispensable in the selection of the four general managers.
But this time it's urgent, and I don't want another Li Juecheng to appear in the Dark Thunder Guards.
Therefore, the selection of the four general managers should be based on loyalty and ability! "
The Deputy General Managers present all frowned secretly. Most of these Deputy General Managers were experienced and had high strength and meritorious service.
But Empyrean Black Flame's words made them lose their biggest advantage, which was more advantageous to the new Deputy General Manager.
At this time, several people looked at Leng Shiqi sitting on the side.
Among all the Deputy General Managers, the one who was least likely to be one of the four general managers was definitely Leng Shiqi.
His cultivation was only at the middle stage of Gang Spirit Realm. Of course, at his age, the middle stage of Gang Spirit Realm was already very outstanding.
Moreover, his cultivation speed was also very fast. It could be said that his potential was infinite. Unfortunately, his time in the headquarters of the Dark Thunder Guards was very short, and his meritorious service was far less than that of others.
If he had a few more years, he might have become a strong competitor.
But the rules of the selection of the four general managers were different from those of the past. Even Leng Shiqi seemed to have a chance!
Eunuch Gao and the other two also showed a thoughtful look. Now the Deputy General Managers who could still sit here were the three general managers' subordinates.
If anyone could elect a general manager, it was equivalent to having the power of two general managers!
None of them would let go of such an opportunity.
So now the most important thing was, what was the process and test of the four general managers?
Everyone's eyes were focused on Empyrean Black Flame. He continued, "According to the previous rules, all the Deputy General Managers are qualified to compete.
There are three steps in the process. First, the meritorious service is verified. Second, the supervisor, the supervisor and the three general managers are elected.
Finally, the most important step is to be decided by His Majesty! "
When he said this, everyone's heart was a little turbulent again.
In the past, the process of selecting the four general managers was similar, but there was no competition. The biggest difference was that His Majesty was directly involved in this matter!
In fact, in the past, the appointment of the four general managers was also decided by His Majesty. Most of the time, it was the same person who was elected by everyone. But according to Empyrean Black Flame's words, the appointment this time seemed to be decided by His Majesty!
"Alright, His Majesty has decreed that the new general manager must be elected by tomorrow night. Prepare tonight, and the election will begin tomorrow morning." After saying this, Empyrean Black Flame waved everyone away.
A moment later, Leng Shiqi followed Eunuch Gao to the Cold Nether Pavilion. There were seven Deputy General Managers who came with him. They were all Eunuch Gao's subordinates who wanted to run for the position of the four general managers.
Only one of them was not in the Imperial Capital. He was afraid that he would miss this opportunity.
Eunuch Gao said solemnly, "Who among you wants to be the new general manager? Step forward."
As soon as he finished speaking, six people stepped forward.
As for the remaining two people, two of them were old men with white beards. They knew that they were too old and did not have the energy, so they gave up.
Leng Shiqi was one of the six people who stepped forward!
His actions were naturally seen by others. The other five people were more or less disdainful. In terms of potential and Eunuch Gao's favor, they admitted that they were not as good as Leng Shiqi. But in terms of other things, he was not good enough.
Leng Shiqi's stepping forward was completely within Eunuch Gao's expectations. After all, everyone knew about Leng Shiqi's ambition.
Eunuch Gao said, "There are six of you now. Instead of electing all six of you at the same time, it's better to choose the most likely candidate. I will fully support him, and there will be more hope."
The six people looked at each other. They all knew what Eunuch Gao meant. He wanted them to go through an internal selection first!
