Su Chen blinked innocently.
At this moment, the most powerful woman in Spirit Mountain's Still Province was in his arms. Furthermore, Su Chen was absolutely certain that she wouldn't dare kill him.
In truth, Su Chen could've continued to pretend to be Yu Tianheng and duped her.
But he knew when to stop.
The more he pretended, the easier it was to expose himself.
Su Chen only had memories of Yu Tianheng's youth, but not of Lady Providence. Obviously, Yu Tianheng had joined some powerful sect later on and become Lady Providence's senior apprentice-brother. If Lady Providence asked about this period of time, Su Chen wouldn't be able to answer.
Lady Providence quickly withdrew and left. She wasn't angry, but rather regretful.
"You …. How did you meet my senior apprentice-brother?" asked Lady Providence.
"Minor Thousand Realms, in a place called Xuanyuan Planet, there's a purple peony. The Sovereign of the World, Yu Tianheng's soul, is sealed within. I just happened to discover it. However, the Sovereign of the World's soul is extremely weak, and he needs my physical body to survive. Back then, in order to protect his life, I took a great risk. Shouldn't you thank me?"
Su Chen chuckled mischievously. Obviously, he wanted to ask Lady Providence for some benefits.
However, Lady Providence wasn't angry. She nodded seriously and said, "I'll accept this favor on behalf of my senior apprentice-brother. If you have any requests, feel free to ask."
As soon as she said this, Su Chen knew that he'd made the right bet.
Lady Providence's attitude towards Yu Tianheng was definitely no longer that of an ordinary senior apprentice-brother and junior apprentice-sister.
Since that was the case, Su Chen wouldn't be polite.
"Release the Yutian Clan and return the Heaven-encompassing Seal."
Su Chen said resolutely and decisively. "Lady Providence, it's not that I want to criticize you, but since you like the Sovereign of the World so much, why did you act so heavily against his family?"
Hearing this, Lady Providence looked confused. "Senior apprentice-brother's clan?"
"Eh, Your Highness, don't you know? The Supreme One of the World, Yu Tianheng's real name is Yu Tianheng. He reincarnated in the Immortal World and was born in the Immortal Clan. Although the Supreme One of the World is a reincarnated Immortal, the blood of the Immortal Clan still flows in his body."
"This … I've never heard Senior Brother mention this before."
Lady Providence suddenly felt some lingering fear. If the Yutian Clan had really been destroyed by her own hands, how would her senior brother view her?
"So that's how it is. Then it's no wonder. You can't be blamed for this matter. After all, the one who did it was Ye Guihong. I will do my best to help you get away from the Revered One. You don't have to worry."
Su Chen didn't know whether it was Lady Providence or Ye Guihong who'd given the order to seize the Overflowing Sky Realm, but that wasn't important now. As long as Lady Providence could order Ye Guihong to stop and give up on seizing the Overflowing Sky Realm, that would be the most satisfactory result they could achieve.
As for holding someone accountable ….
There was no need to even think about it. Ye Guihong alone was something they couldn't afford to offend. The Soul Mountain Sect controlled the lives and deaths of countless people in the entire Spirit Mountain and Tranquil Province. It possessed supreme and irresistible authority. Su Chen was able to use Yu Tianheng's influence to change the outcome that had already been set in stone. This was definitely an unexpected result.
Could it be that Lady Providence had to give the order to punish Ye Guihong?
If the real Yu Tianheng had come, perhaps he'd have the ability to do so, but Su Chen was just a fake. No matter how well he acted, he wouldn't dare use a chicken feather as an arrow. After all, he didn't have the strength to match it.
Lady Providence thought for a moment, then said, "How about this: I'll leave the matter of the Overflowing Sky Realm to you. I'll now appoint you as a guest elder of the Soul Mountain Sect. Your status is on par with the seven elders. You can do whatever you want. I'll help you from behind the scenes."
Su Chen's face instantly lit up with joy. "Lady Providence, are you serious?"
"You're my senior apprentice brother's benefactor, which means you're my benefactor as well. A trifling guest elder position is nothing. However, I have a request."
"Lady Providence, there's no harm in asking."
"I won't restrict you from staying in the Soul Mountain Sect, but I want to know your movements at all times. This isn't to restrict you, but rather to ensure my senior apprentice brother's safety at all times. I won't interfere with your activities in the Soul Mountain Sect, but if you want to leave, you must report to me first."
It was obvious that he still did not trust Su Chen enough.
But that was normal.
In fact, Su Chen actually hoped this was the case. The more Lady Providence paid attention to Yu Tianheng, the more power Su Chen would have, and the more benefits he'd be able to reap.
A guest elder of the Soul Mountain Sect!
If word of this got out, it was enough to scare a bunch of people to death.
As long as Su Chen could firmly cling onto Lady Providence's thigh, he might not be able to do as he pleased in the Soul Mountain Sect, but the number of people who'd dare provoke him could be counted on one hand.
"Lady Providence, don't worry. I cherish my life very much, and I won't joke about my future."
Lady Providence nodded. She formed a seal out of thin air and imprinted it between Su Chen's eyebrows.
It looked like a command medallion.
The medallion gradually merged into Su Chen's body and branded itself on his sea of knowledge.
"This is your elder seal. With this seal, you can be considered an official member of the Soul Mountain Sect. However, I won't announce your identity for the time being. Otherwise, it'll bring you even more trouble."
Su Chen nodded, indicating he could accept it.
He was a nameless Sky Pillar junior. If he suddenly soared to the heavens and became the most powerful elder of the Spirit Sword Sect in the entire Soul Mountain Sect, his status would be on par with the other seven Godking elders. This would cause a huge sensation. When the time came, countless gazes would fall on Su Chen, which wouldn't be a good thing.
For the time being, it was safer to keep a low profile.
"Lady Providence, is there anything else?"
Su Chen couldn't wait to deal with the matter of the Immortal Clan. Before, he'd been considering how to steal the Great Heaven Covering Seal, but now... Haha, he was a dignified elder of the Spirit Sword Sect. Why would he need to steal the Great Heaven Covering Seal?
"Next time... when will I see Senior Brother again?" Lady Providence's face was filled with anticipation.
"Senior World Supreme's soul still needs to slowly recover. For now, he can only stay awake for a stick of incense's worth of time. If my strength can increase, for example, after I break through to the Clear Heaven Realm, I can use my strength to nourish Senior World Supreme. At that time, Senior World Supreme will be able to stay awake for even longer."
Lady Providence seemed to have made a decision. "After you've dealt with the matter of the Great Heaven Realm, come back to the Spirit Mountain and stay there for a while. I'll think of a way to help you increase your cultivation and break through to the Clear Heaven Realm as soon as possible."
Su Chen was delighted and hurriedly thanked her. "May the Lady Providence be blessed with good fortune and peace. Su Chen will take his leave now."
"Phoenix Dawn, escort Su Chen down the mountain," said Lady Providence.
As soon as she said this, a gust of wind blew over, and the pig-clawed girl appeared at Su Chen's side.
She bowed deeply to Lady Providence, then grabbed Su Chen's arm. Her figure flashed, and they returned to the small hut by the lake at the foot of the mountain.
"You... What kind of bewitching potion did you feed Godmother? She actually let you take over the position of guest elder!" Phoenix Dawn's large eyes were filled with shock.
