"Did Emperor Qin really say that to you?"
Tongtian Empress looked a little hesitant. She didn't know much about Qin Tianzi's personality, but she could easily investigate what he had done. She came to the Underworld to find the Soul-Repressing Clock because she was requested by the Langya Emperor to get rid of Qin Tianzi and save the people of the Snow Empire.
In Tongtian Empress' mind, Emperor Qin was a heinous devil. If he wasn't killed, he would fall into the devil's path sooner or later and become the number one enemy of the cultivation world.
But if what Su Chen said was true, then she had to reevaluate Emperor Qin.
At least, if it was true, then Emperor Qin wouldn't be a cold-blooded person.
Su Chen said, "From my observation, Emperor Qin shouldn't be lying. And I can feel that he seems to know his end. Asking me to find Yu Rongqing is more like his last request before he dies."
"Yu Rongqing … What do you know about this person?"
Su Chen didn't try to hide anything, and he told Heavenly Empress Tongtian everything he knew.
In reality, he didn't know much. However, in the past few days in Soul Palace, he had specially sought out Gui Guzi to talk and ask about Yu Rongqing. However, what Gui Guzi knew was all in the past. He had been sealed by Zhang Daoling for ten thousand years. In these years, Gui Guzi didn't know what had happened to Yu Rongqing or why she had died.
Zhou Chuanhuo revealed some information about Yu Rongqing to Su Chen.
About a few decades after Guigu 'zi left the Snow Kingdom, the Snow Kingdom's Eldest Princess, Yu Rongqing, died of an illness caused by her longing for him. At that time, the Qin Emperor was heartbroken. The entire Snow Kingdom mourned the death of the Eldest Princess.
There was also a rumor that Yu Rongqing had been framed and killed.
In short, there were many rumors about Yu Rongqing's death. The whole thing was confusing and difficult to judge.
"Yu Rongqing has been dead for ten thousand years. Maybe she has already reincarnated. If you want to find her in the Underworld, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack," Tongtian Empress said.
"That's true, but I still want to try."
"Alright, we are still quite a distance away from the Eight Desolate Mountains. We will pass by a few ghost cities on the way. I can accompany you to investigate."
"Thank you, Your Majesty."
Two hours later, a second ghost city finally appeared in front of them.
Compared to the chaos in the City of the Wronged Dead, this place was obviously much more prosperous. There were many ghost cultivators here, and some of them had powerful auras.
The Dao Extermination Demonic Dragon didn't hide itself. It flew directly above the Ghost City and circled around. The huge pressure made countless dead souls and ghost cultivators in the Ghost City tremble uneasily. Some of the more powerful ghost cultivators popped their heads out. But when they saw the Dao Extermination Demonic Dragon, they quickly put away their magic treasures and weapons that they didn't have time to use. They all hid like turtles, not daring to show their heads.
At this moment, an Asura Zombie covered in red hair flew out from a blood pool in the center of the Ghost City. This person's aura was special, as if it was the product of the combination of an Asura and a Zombie. It was extremely ugly, so ugly that it had a unique charm in the depths of its soul.
"Jiang Chen, Hell King Jiang Chen, greets Tongtian Empress. I didn't know Tongtian Empress was coming, so I didn't go out to greet you. Please forgive me!"
Another Hell King.
However, his cultivation and strength seemed even weaker than Ye Hongshuang's, who didn't have long to live. Of course, it could also be because he didn't dare show off his strength in front of Tongtian Empress.
Before Tongtian Empress could say anything, Su Chen stepped forward and asked, "I want to ask you, do you know a woman named Yu Rongqing? She entered the Underworld about ten thousand years ago."
Jiangchen didn't dare ask about Su Chen's background. He knew Su Chen was definitely asking on behalf of Tongtian Empress, so he answered honestly.
"Reporting to Venerated Empress, this humble one has never heard of this name."
Tongtian Empress glanced at Jiangchen. "He's not lying. Let's go."
Su Chen nodded.
The two of them mounted the Dao Extermination Demonic Dragon and continued their journey.
They'd come in a hurry and left in a hurry.
Over the next day, Su Chen and Tongtian Empress visited several more ghost cities, but the results were the same. No one knew Yu Rongqing.
This only proved that Yu Rongqing wasn't famous in the Underworld.
Perhaps she really had reincarnated, or perhaps she'd changed her name ….
"It seems that it won't be easy to find Yu Rongqing in the Mansion of the Dead. Empress, I think we should go to the Eight Desolates Mountains to look for the Requiem Bell. No matter what, we have to get the Requiem Bell first. Then, the rest will be easy to deal with," Su Chen said.
Tongtian Empress nodded.
The Dao Extermination Demonic Dragon immediately sped up and flew toward the dark clouds at the end of the horizon.
The entrance to the Eight Desolation Mountains was right below the dark clouds.
The closer they got to the mountains, the more ghosts they saw wandering the earth. Outside the mountains, there were traces of ghosts everywhere. However, these ghosts didn't have any intelligence. They were all wandering ghosts, and seemed to have been attracted by the dense aura of death and yin in the Eight Desolation Mountains.
Occasionally, he would see some ghost cultivators hunting these dead souls and devouring their soul power to strengthen themselves. This should also be a method of cultivation for ghost cultivators.
Su Chen waved his hand and devoured a lot of ghosts, but soon he shook his head and gave up.
The spiritual bodies of these ghosts were too weak, and they contained very little soul power. Moreover, they were very turbid. Devouring them wouldn't increase his soul power by much. In order to purify these souls, he'd have to consume more energy, unless he spent a lot of time slowly purifying them. However, it wouldn't be worth it.
This cultivation method was only suitable for those low-level ghost cultivators.
"Roar!"
The Dao Extermination Demonic Dragon suddenly roared, as if it had sensed some threat.
The dark clouds in front of them were surging, and they couldn't sense what was inside. However, Su Chen still braced himself and took out the Soul-Calming Lamp. At the same time, he activated the Heavenly Shine Holy Light, trying to illuminate the dark clouds in front of them.
The Holy Light shone, and vaguely, there seemed to be some black shadows flying in the dark clouds.
"Those are mountain ghosts, special spiritual bodies that guard the Eight Desolation Mountains. They have a very special origin, so don't provoke them," said Tongtian Empress.
Su Chen nodded. He was familiar with the Holy Light, so he only illuminated the path ahead. At the same time, he put away the Soul-Calming Lamp.
Under the guidance of Su Chen's Holy Light, the Dao Extermination Demonic Dragon slowly boiled into the dark clouds.
The dark clouds shrouded the sky and the earth. The mountain ghosts were still swimming around, and screams could be heard from time to time.
If Su Chen was alone, he would have been terrified. However, with Tongtian Empress beside him, he was quite calm.
Even if the sky fell, there were tall people to hold it up. What was there to be afraid of?
After flying for a while, the dark clouds finally began to dissipate, and a boundless barren mountain range appeared in front of Su Chen.
"It's not good to attract attention ahead. Transform, little black dragon," said Tongtian Empress.
Su Chen saw the Dao Extermination Demonic Dragon's body change and quickly shrank. It turned into a handsome little boy with red lips, white teeth, and waist-length black hair.
"Uh …"
The Dao Extermination Demonic Dragon's voice was a bit different from its appearance after transforming.
Shouldn't it be an old man?
