The power of the Extinction Sword was too strong. A casual strike seemed to have the power to destroy heaven and earth. It was Su Chen's first time encountering such a powerful enemy. Even Mo Yun was not as threatening as Xu Canglan.
Seeing Xu Canglan slashing out with the Extinction Sword again, Su Chen's heart skipped a beat. He used the Thunderlight Step and ran away quickly, but he was still much slower than Xu Canglan.
The fierce sword aura blasted toward Su Chen's face. The fierce sword aura left thousands of bloody wounds on his body. If this strike landed, both Su Chen and Kong Lingxuan would die on the spot!
"Watch me!"
Kong Lingxuan recovered slightly. She clenched her teeth and clamped Su Chen with her legs. She turned around and lay on Su Chen's shoulder. Using his body as a cannon, she blasted a Five-colored Holy Light at Xu Canglan!
"Peacock Divine Light!"
Xu Canglan frowned. He seemed to be afraid of Kong Lingxuan's counterattack. He immediately slowed down and retracted his sword aura, dodging in a hurry.
"Boom!"
The Five-colored Holy Light burst out and turned into thousands of bursting light pillars. It blasted a fan-shaped crater that stretched for thousands of meters on the ground.
What a powerful Five-colored Holy Light!
Su Chen did not expect Kong Lingxuan to have such a powerful life-saving skill.
However, this life-saving skill seemed to consume a lot of energy. After the strike, Kong Lingxuan was completely exhausted. She lay on Su Chen's shoulder motionlessly, as if she had passed out.
However, because of this strike, Xu Canglan's footsteps were stopped.
Although Xu Canglan dodged in time, he was still enveloped by the Five-colored Divine Light that covered a large area. His body was riddled with holes. Although he protected his vital parts and did not suffer any fatal injuries, he still looked extremely miserable.
Su Chen took advantage of this opportunity and desperately activated the Thunderlight Step. He took Kong Lingxuan and fled into a forest in the distance. When the cooldown of his Teleport skill ended, he immediately teleported away and disappeared into the forest.
Xu Canglan raised the Extinction Sword. When he caught up with them, he had completely lost track of Su Chen and Kong Lingxuan's aura.
"Damn it!"
Xu Canglan flew into a rage and once again slashed out the Extermination Sword. With one slash, the surrounding forest was razed to the ground, but in the end, he still could not find Su Chen and his companion.
"Cough cough …"
In a dark cave, as soon as Su Chen put Kong Lingxuan down, she started coughing violently. Blood kept flowing out from the corner of her mouth. Even Su Chen's body was covered in her blood, which mixed with his own.
However, Su Chen's recovery ability was still quite heaven-defying. In just a short while, the sword wounds all over his body had almost healed.
However, Kong Lingxuan's injuries were not so easily healed.
Su Chen sat down cross-legged and channeled the power of the divine glyphs into Kong Lingxuan's body. Using the divine glyphs as threads, he began mending Kong Lingxuan's wounds.
"Sorry to offend you."
After dealing with her internal injuries, Kong Lingxuan's external injuries were also extremely serious. Su Chen could only remove her clothes before dealing with her wounds.
Kong Lingxuan said weakly, "Don't worry about it. I'm not a petty woman. I won't make you take responsibility for just one look."
Su Chen nodded and used the Yuchang Sword to cut open Kong Lingxuan's clothes, revealing her wounded body.
Su Chen first used water to wash away the dried blood on her body, then used the power of the divine glyphs to heal her. After working for almost an hour, he finally finished dealing with the hundreds of sword wounds on her body.
Although Kong Lingxuan said that she didn't mind, it was the first time a man had seen her body from head to toe. She was more or less a little embarrassed and shy. In the end, she simply closed her eyes and didn't dare to look directly at Su Chen.
"You should be fine. Take this pill, and you should be able to recover in half a day."
Su Chen said and put a pill into Kong Lingxuan's mouth.
Then, Su Chen took out a set of his clothes and put them on Kong Lingxuan.
"Thank you. If it wasn't for you, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to escape death today." Kong Lingxuan said.
Su Chen smiled bitterly and said, "I'm the one who dragged you into this. That Xu Canglan came for me."
"How did you offend him?"
Su Chen told Kong Lingxuan about the heavenly lightning that struck him at Xia Ke Abode. After hearing this, Kong Lingxuan couldn't help but laugh. She laughed so hard that it affected her wounds, causing her to suck in a breath of cold air.
Su Chen quickly held her down and said, "Is it that funny?"
"You don't know. That day, Xu Canglan was at the crucial stage of breaking through to the tenth level of Reincarnation Realm. For that breakthrough, he had been preparing for at least a month. After being struck by your heavenly lightning, a month's worth of effort went to waste."
Su Chen blushed with shame. Was that so?
No wonder Xu Canglan hated him to the bone and wanted to kill him.
"What is the background of this Xu Canglan? Why is he so strong and even has a dao artifact?"
In the entire Eastern Fence Sea Region, there were only a few dao artifacts. They were extremely valuable and were top-notch artifacts that couldn't be bought with money. Xu Canglan might be strong, but he hadn't been famous for a long time. Logically speaking, he shouldn't have enough power to obtain a dao artifact.
Kong Lingxuan said, "It is said that Xu Canglan has no parents. When he was young, he crawled out of a bottomless cave and was picked up by the mountain people. He was raised until he was three years old. Due to his violent nature, he was captured by the law enforcers of the Canglan Sect and imprisoned for ten years. Later on, he was accepted as a disciple by Archbishop Canglan and cultivated in seclusion for several years. In fact, his current temper is much better than when he was young. When he was young, he killed anyone he saw and loved to torture and kill innocent people. Even the mountain people who adopted him died in his hands."
"This guy can't be the descendant of an evil demon, right?" Su Chen couldn't help but ask.
Kong Lingxuan smiled bitterly. "I don't know, but that Extermination Sword doesn't look like a righteous artifact. It's too murderous. It is said that the Extermination Sword grew with Xu Canglan. As Xu Canglan grew stronger, the grade of the Extermination Sword also increased. It became a dao artifact a few years ago and will probably continue to grow."
A growth-type artifact?
It seemed that the Extermination Sword wasn't as simple as a dao artifact.
In any case, Su Chen didn't have the strength to fight Xu Canglan in the short term. He had to avoid him as much as possible.
"Rest well. There are still a few days before the Mystic Arts Conference. We still have a chance to rush to the rankings. But first, we have to heal our injuries," Su Chen said.
Kong Lingxuan nodded. She sat down cross-legged and began to circulate her spiritual energy.
Su Chen walked toward the depths of the cave.
When he found the cave, he smelled the scent of spiritual herbs and was ready to search.
The closer he got to the depths of the cave, the higher the temperature. The air was filled with an extremely foul smell of sulfur, accompanied by poisonous gas.
Su Chen became cautious. He approached cautiously and saw a deep pit. At the bottom of the pit, there was a large amount of boiling magma.
On the rock wall above the magma, a beautiful blue and white flower was slowly blooming.
Su Chen was shocked.
"This is … a spiritual herb!"
