"Plan 1: Consume 100,000 skill points to instantly refine one ball of Eight Barren Divine Flame and absorb all of its energy."
"Plan 2: Consume 5,000 skill points to refine one ball of Eight Barren Divine Flame in two hours and absorb 80% of its energy."
There were only two plans.
The skill points cost was 20 times more than the first plan. However, the first plan required instant refinement while the other one required two hours. Moreover, the effect was only 80% of the first plan.
Su Chen had to start calculating.
He had less than 30 billion skill points left. If he chose the first plan, he could refine it 300,000 times.
However, if he chose the second plan, Su Chen could refine it 6,000,000 times!
However, the second plan could only refine it 12 times a day. That would take a lot of time.
It was better to choose the first plan. In order to upgrade the Great Holy Flame, he would not hesitate to spend more skill points.
"Ding! Successfully refined Eight Barren Divine Flame."
Su Chen did not even have the chance to close his eyes before the Eight Barren Divine Flame in front of him was completely refined.
This efficiency was beyond words.
Su Chen stood up and planned to continue searching for more Eight Barren Divine Flames.
"Oh right, I can refine the Eight Barren Divine Flame while completing missions to replenish my skill points."
However, the Ancient Desolate Star was a deserted place. There was probably no one else within 10,000 miles of Su Chen. Would he be able to find a mission in such an environment?
Su Chen decided to give it a try.
Let's start with the first level.
"Ding! Exploration failed. No suitable mission found. Skill points returned."
It really didn't work.
However, Su Chen did not give up so quickly. He tried all the missions of different levels. Since the skill points would be returned if he could not find a mission, there was nothing to lose.
Finally, on his 30th attempt, he found a new mission.
"Ding! New mission: Destroy Eight Barren Divine Flame. Mission progress 0/30."
Eh?
Wasn't this a mission tailored for Su Chen?
Without hesitation, Su Chen began to search for more Eight Barren Divine Flames. After finding one, he used the Divine Rune to grab it and spent 100,000 skill points to refine and absorb it.
As expected, the refined Eight Desolation Divine Flame was counted in the progress of the mission.
With the acceleration system, Su Chen was able to refine the Eight Barrens Divine Flames effortlessly. In less than an hour, Su Chen had refined thirty balls of Eight Barrens Divine Flames that were left behind.
'Ding! Congratulations to host for completing the mission. Reward: 35,000,000 skill points.'
He had earned 5,000,000 skill points!
Refining the Eight Barren Divine Flames only took Su Chen 3,000,000 Skill Points.
In other words, Su Chen had gotten all the benefits, and he had even gotten two million Skill Points for free?
Su Chen actually encountered such a good thing that couldn't be found even with a lantern.
If he could keep receiving such missions, wouldn't that be awesome?
Su Chen immediately explored the Level 30 mission again.
"Ding! New quest: Destroy the Eight Barrens Divine Flame. Quest progress: 0/30."
Exactly the same!
Haha!
Su Chen was grinning from ear to ear. The heavens were really helping him. Su Chen had originally planned to squander a large amount of Skill Points. Now, not only did he not lose them, he even found a way to earn Skill Points.
How wonderful.
Was this a loophole in the system?
Forget it, he had to quickly complete the mission before the system realized it and changed the mission.
In the next few days, Su Chen wandered around the Ancient Desolate Star's Arctic Circle, continuously capturing the Eight Barrens Divine Flames that were left behind. While refining the Divine Flames, he also completed the missions.
On average, Su Chen could complete a round of missions every hour and earn 2,000,000 Skill Points. In one day, he would earn close to 50,000,000 Skill Points.
In just a few days, Su Chen's Skill Points did not decrease. Instead, they increased by a few hundred million, breaking through the 30,000,000,000 mark.
However, in the past few days, the Eight Barrens Divine Flames that were left behind were basically all swept away by Su Chen.
The rest were the Eight Barrens Divine Flames that were gathered together.
Su Chen planned to challenge them.
He found a crack with twelve balls of Eight Barrens Divine Flames inside. Su Chen wanted to try and see if he could capture all of them in one go.
With the acceleration system, refining the Divine Flames did not take much time.
However, he could only refine one ball of Eight Barrens Divine Flames at a time.
The only problem Su Chen faced was how to ensure that he would not be attacked by the other Divine Flames when refining the Divine Flames.
For this reason, he even let the Eight Barrens Divine Flames attack him once to confirm how much damage the Eight Barrens Divine Flames could do to him.
The result was still very painful. As long as the Eight Barrens Divine Flames touched his body, they would leave a large patch of charred marks. If he was unlucky and was burned between his eyebrows, his life would be in danger.
However, he still had to give it a try. He tried to use the Sacred Runes to delay the Divine Flames. The Mystical Fire Sword could also help him block for a while. As long as his luck was not too bad, Su Chen should be able to withstand it.
After calming himself down, Su Chen took a deep breath and flew directly toward the twelve balls of Eight Barrens Divine Flames.
"Hiss …"
Su Chen's speed was already very fast. In just three seconds, he had refined the twelve balls of Eight Barrens Divine Flames. However, in these three seconds, he was still attacked by the Eight Barrens Divine Flames a total of five times. The clothes on his body were burned to ashes, leaving only a pair of Invincible Underpants.
"No, this is still too risky. I need to increase my fire resistance."
Su Chen had a thought and took out the seven hundred or so fire-attribute Divine Herbs that he had bought earlier.
Then, Su Chen entered the Skill Library and used one billion Skill Points to upgrade his Alchemist Skill Points to Level Nine Divine Medicine.
A Level Nine Divine Medicine was enough to refine most of the Divine Herbs.
Su Chen took out some supreme-grade fire-attribute ores and refined an alchemy furnace. He threw the Divine Herbs in and began refining pills.
After spending seven days, Su Chen refined all seven hundred stalks of divine medicine and finally obtained fifty divine grade pills.
One by one, Su Chen swallowed the fifty Divine Pills one after another like jelly beans.
It took another three to four days to refine the Divine Pills.
"Huff …"
Su Chen exhaled a mouthful of turbid air, which turned into flames and gushed out.
These pills had increased his fire resistance by more than thirty percent.
With the protection of the Fire Dragon Armor, Su Chen could probably withstand the fatal injuries caused by the Eight Barrens Divine Flames.
Although he could not avoid being injured, Su Chen did not ask for much as long as he did not die.
With enough confidence, Su Chen continued to complete missions to refine the Eight Barrens Divine Flames. After a few days of continuous experimentation, Su Chen found some ways to reduce the damage of the Eight Barrens Divine Flames. Now, he was facing thirty balls of Eight Barrens Divine Flames at the same time and did not feel too much pressure.
In the blink of an eye, a month had passed.
Su Chen could no longer remember how many missions he had completed to eliminate the Eight Barrens Divine Flames. He also could not remember how many Eight Barrens Divine Flames he had refined. He only knew that the Great Holy Flame had been upgraded to Level 16 and that its Skill Points had increased to thirty-two billion.
Not only was he able to upgrade the Great Holy Flame once a month, but he was also able to earn two billion Skill Points for free. Even though Su Chen's entire body was riddled with scars and bruises, he was still feeling extremely satisfied.
