Juliana's Workshop - Chapter108

Lulunaka finally arrived at her destination in a carriage that was on the way.

On the way, she changed her carriage again, but in return, she paid with a few fresh flowers and a lovely smile.

When she got down from the carriage, she saw a spacious square, a sky without any shelter, a dense crowd, and all kinds of voices … and a magnificent church.

Domed towers and a circular dome occupied half of the sky.

The domed towers were like swords that pierced the sky, and the dome was like a shield that protected the buildings below. Polygons of different shapes were put together, but they formed a symmetry. It looked so perfect, and the white appearance was so beautiful.

This was the landmark of the King's Castle, the most famous building in the west of the Euran Continent. It was also the holy land that made the believers of the God of Light and tourists from all over the world lose their minds and forget to go back.

It looked like a fortress, but there were no fortifications. It was like a palace, but no matter if it was the royal family, the nobles, or the civilians, they could all walk around here. Those who had the same faith, or those who were heretics, all offered their respect to it. It was a legend that had existed for more than a thousand years. Heroes, ambitious people, saintesses, mages, demons, dragons … they were all just hurried guests, but it had always existed here.

St. Sophia's Cathedral, the beginning and end of a legend, the resting place of a saint.

Lulunaka raised her head and covered the front of her eyes with her hand, blocking the sunlight with the back of her hand. "Long time no see, Sophia." She whispered something that no one could hear.

The silent believers and monks passed by Lulunaka, and the noisy tourists also passed by Lulunaka.

Lulunaka opened the empty paper bag that originally contained bread, and folded it into the shape of a flower basket. It was unknown when the basket was filled with fresh flowers.

No one would pay attention to what a girl was doing. Even if they saw it, they would probably just think that it was their own illusion. To be more precise, no one would notice Lulunaka.

"Sir, there are fresh flowers that were just picked this morning. Would you like to buy a few?"

Lulunaka had a flattering smile on her face as she walked towards the cathedral, not forgetting to sell the flowers in her basket along the way.

Some people ignored Lulunaka, but others threw a few copper coins to Lulunaka and took a few flowers.

Lulunaka didn't care how many copper coins she received. As long as there was money in the basket, she would say "Thank you, Sir" and "Thank you, Madam" several times. She was just like a skilled flower girl.

As they approached the cathedral, Lulunaka stopped by an open-air fountain. The flowers in her basket had been sold out.

She slapped the paper basket into a flat piece of paper and put it into her pocket. As for the money bag that was originally meant for Julius, it was half filled with copper coins.

"Earning money isn't an easy matter. I hope that brat can understand this principle." Lulunaka had a smile on her face as she softly muttered to herself.

Although Julius was a poor brat from the countryside, it didn't mean that he understood the hardships of the world and the power of money. Especially in a city like the King's Castle, in a place like the Rat Path, a single copper coin could lead to a dispute and even blood.

Lurunaka poured out the copper coins from the money bag. When her small palm couldn't hold the copper coins, she waved her small hand and the copper coins were scattered into the fountain as if someone had thrown them out.

Her actions attracted a few people's attention, but very quickly, no one continued to pay attention to her.

People like Lulunaka who did things like this weren't rare, and the bottom of the fountain was already covered with a layer of glittering coins.

Lulunaka wasn't that special, it was only to the extent of causing people to be slightly surprised.

The money bag in Lulunaka's hand became empty again. She turned the money bag upside down and nothing fell out of the money bag.

She put the money bag back into her bosom and clasped her hands together. Facing the fountain, she said, "Light God, I hope that you can make my wish come true … … Although a dead person like you won't be able to hear me, it's really a pity."

In the noisy square in front of the cathedral, no one could hear, and no one could hear, Lurunaka's whisper.

Lulunaka left the fountain and continued to walk towards the cathedral's door.

The cathedral was open to the public, so this place wasn't private property of the royal family or nobles.

This place was famous for a long time. No matter if it was the local residents or tourists, as long as they had the chance, they were willing to come here to pray to God or to see the lineup of God. Those paintings and statues, holy images and scriptures could always easily cause people to have fanatical beliefs.

Lulunaka followed the crowd through the cathedral's door and walked into the interior.

The unreachable dome above was a gorgeous mosaic glass. The sunlight penetrated the glass and fell into the hall, leaving dazzling spots of light.

Every bench was occupied, but it wasn't crowded. The priest and Nuns walked around, and no one made a lot of noise.

After Lulunaka came in, the first place she looked at was the altar at the end of the chapel. Then she frowned.

There were people following behind her, so she didn't stop, but walked forward and found a bench to sit down.

She placed her small hands on her thighs, and when she was about to raise her legs, she suddenly remembered that such an action would only attract the dissatisfied gazes of the believers, so she pressed down on her trembling thighs.

Now for Lulunaka, there was a little trouble. It wasn't big or small, but it was enough to ruin her trip today.

"I'm not here to have fun. This is a little troublesome …" Lulunaka half-closed her eyes and looked at the people walking in front of her.

When a young Nuns passed by, Lulunaka called out to her. "Sister Nuns, I have something to ask. Can you give me some time?" Lulunaka said to Nuns with a smile.

Lulunaka's smile was very bright and attractive. This made Nuns, who had work to do, stop and return a smile. "Is there anything I can help you with, child?"

Lulunaka pointed at the altar. "That place didn't look like that the last time I was here, but I can't figure out what has changed."

Nuns looked at the place where Lulunaka pointed, and her smile became a little stiff. "Child, I think you're mistaken. That's the place where God preaches the gospel. There won't be any changes. Even if there are changes, we believers won't know."

Lulunaka blinked, looking ignorant. "No changes?

But it feels so strange. It's like something is blocked. "

Nuns bent down and touched Lulunaka's head. "You're thinking too much, child.

Are you alone? "

Lulunaka nodded.

"God will bless you.

Enjoy this time, child. "Nuns stood up straight and left Lulunaka.

After leaving, Nuns recalled Lulunaka's words.

She was a person who liked to read and knew quite a lot about the history of the cathedral.

It was true that the altar had been changed, but it was not something that a child should know. It was something that happened decades ago, almost half a century ago.

Even she only knew about it from the diaries and information left in the cathedral. How could a child know that the altar had been changed?

She smiled and felt that she had taken a child's words too seriously.

After the young Nuns left, Lulunaka, who had a child-like smile on her face, showed a worried expression and sighed.

How could God bless her? She should be thankful that God didn't make things difficult for her. But then again, there was no existence in the name of God who wanted to make things difficult for her.

She didn't just casually find a young girl to chat with. She didn't expect that after being away for a while, the important place in the cathedral had been blocked.

Others couldn't see it, and they would never know that there was a secret door under the altar.

It was a perfect and ingenious mechanism that made it impossible to open except for triggering the mechanism.

However, the secret door was blocked, or even destroyed. Lulunaka only needed a glance to understand the matter. As the person who built the secret door and mechanism, how could she not see it?

"What a waste of my things …" Lulunaka sighed again.
