Juliana's Workshop - Chapter154

The two black-robed men came to the hall.

For them, this place was not a place they could use. It was more like a place they usually used for collective communication. Also, if they lured the snake skeletons here, it would be easier to deal with them.

In those complicated passageways, the skeletons could move swiftly on the ceiling, walls, and floor. They were only bones, so they moved silently. Fighting in those places in the passageways was just courting death.

The mages needed space and time to cast spells, but the snake skeletons did not. They only needed to send the armed guards flying and strangling them. They could easily use their tails to roll up the mages and drag them into the underground lake, no longer making a sound.

Compared to fighting in the passages, in such a spacious space like the hall, although the snake skeletons would not be weakened, they could at least deal with them normally.

In a larger space, using spells to attack the snake skeletons was also a good choice. They could always force them to retreat into the underground lake.

As for defeating them?

Whether it was the two black-robed men, their companions, or their leader, no one thought of such an impossible thing.

If the snake skeletons were existences that could be destroyed, they would not need to guard against these powerful, terrifying, and persistent monsters for a long time.

As long as they could drive them back and let the tools and equipment in this area work normally, it would be enough for them.

There was also a very special thing in this place, and that was a hole that led upwards. The black-robed men tried to enter the hole above, but there was nothing except for a solid cover.

Considering that there was actually a reservoir above, no one thought of opening it. Who knew if a large amount of water would come down, or countless bones … or the snake skeletons that somehow ran to the reservoir above.

In a worse situation, it could be that all three would pour down, turning this place into a water zone. That would be a complete disaster for their work.

When they came to the hall, the two men found that it was filled with countless small light balls.

These were the spells used by the old black-robed man. They could illuminate and track, and even if they were cut into pieces, they would disperse into smaller individuals.

Looking at the situation now, someone had viciously vented their anger on these light balls.

"All the light is gathered here," the old black-robed man said.

The old black-robed man said. Tiny balls of light rotated around him and then dispersed. However, no balls of light left the hall and floated in the air.

"They should be nearby. They shouldn't be running away anymore … But where are they?"

The ball of light seemed to have lost its target and no longer extended outwards in a straight line.

The old man in the black robe didn't think that the two children could escape from his spell. If they could, then they wouldn't have been caught just now. One of them had his face cut, and the other was almost burned to a crisp.

"Where else can they hide in this place?" The young Black Robe frowned and looked around. Soon, he found his target.

She lay motionless in the corner of the hall.

At the sight of Rei, the young black-robed man turned around and looked at his companion, "Let me ask you a question: If that brat abandoned the little girl and ran away alone, would your light ball continue to follow that brat?"

The old black-robed man thought for a while and answered, "In a hurry, I didn't set a precise target … You know, although this spell is very convenient, if it's too casual, there won't be a precise result."

The young black-robed man certainly knew about this. He was also a mage, so he knew about this spell, although he never liked this kind of spell that consumed a lot of magic power.

"In other words, it's possible that the other big rat could escape."

"If he really abandoned one of the targets, it's very possible," the old black-robed man said.

When he first used this spell, the targets were Julius and Rei. If one of them disappeared, these things without intelligence would indeed stop at one target and let go of the other.

Of course, it was also possible that the other person had some kind of magic tool that could serve as a cover. This possibility was very small, but it was not completely impossible … As long as they didn't catch Julius and interrogate him for information, they couldn't be sure how he escaped.

The current situation was that the young man abandoned the little girl and ran away without looking back.

"Until just now, he was still trying to protect her," the old black-robed man said, "but he escaped alone?"

"People change their minds easily. Maybe he was finally scared, or maybe she persuaded him to let go of this burden … Or maybe, this child is already dead," the young black-robed man said and then walked towards Rei.

Rei's motionless appearance really did look like she was dead.

This was not good news for Black Robe. What they wanted was the death of two rats, not just one.

The young black-robed man walked towards Rei, just passing by the hole in the ceiling.

Older people were not necessarily more capable than younger people, but as long as they were not hopeless idiots, they would always have more life experience than younger people.

The old black robed man watched as the young man walked to the bottom of the cave. A terrible possibility flashed through his mind. "Be careful of your head!" He didn't care whether or not he had lost his composure. He shouted at the young black robed man in a hoarse voice.

If Julius hadn't left, if Julius hadn't abandoned Rei, if Julius had still been in this hall … The old black-robed man noticed that most of the light balls around him were actually moving towards the ceiling, as if they were sticking to the ceiling.

This was not their normal behavior, so there must be a reason why they were like this.

Someone might be in the hole, lying on the ceiling like a gecko, quietly waiting for prey to appear in his sight — a prey that was actually going to deal with his prey as prey.

The young black-robed man heard his companion's shout, raised his head, and subconsciously covered his head with his hands.

He had already made the most appropriate defensive move in a hurry, and the protective spell on his body was activated again.

This was the second time his defensive spell had been activated, but the light on his body was much weaker than it was at the beginning.

This wasn't something that could be casually used to produce miraculous effects. It needed to be carefully prepared. Moreover, if it was used too much, the item used to store spells would be worn out.

Julius, who was lying on the ground in the hole, jumped down from the young black-robed man's head, and stabbed the broken sword in his hand.
