When Xu Yi saw Great Magician Camilla, he couldn't help bursting out in laughter.
Great Magician Camilla was currently wearing the standard sky blue linen clothes of New Flyer. He was holding two steel plates in his left hand and a Magic Welding Torch in his right hand. He was currently focused on the gap between the two steel plates, slowly moving the Magic Welding Torch.
If he had a protective mask on his face, he would be the same as a welder on earth.
Seeing that Great Magician Camilla was completely focused on the steel plates and the Magic Welding Torch, Xu Yi didn't disturb him. He just stood at the door and carefully watched his movements.
Compared to when he had just developed the Magic Welding Torch, the current Great Magician Camilla was without a doubt much more skilled at welding the two steel plates.
Although the Magic Welding Torch in his right hand wasn't moving very quickly, it was very stable and the Magic Welding Torch didn't tremble at all.
Just based on this, it was enough to compare him to the experienced welders on earth.
When Great Magician Camilla finished welding the two steel plates, Xu Yi took two steps forward to take a look. He found that there were no traces of welding at all between the two steel plates. It was like the two steel plates were naturally joined together and were a single piece.
Xu Yi couldn't help being amazed. He picked up the welded steel plate and pinched the two ends. He forcefully pulled with both hands, but the steel plate didn't move at all.
Great Magician Camilla saw Xu Yi's actions and laughed, "Brat, do you think I'm still the same as before?"
Xu Yi shook his head. He learned from the first time Great Magician Camilla finished welding the two sides. He placed the two ends of the steel plates on the table and left a gap in the middle. Then he picked up the other steel plate on the ground and raised it high before slamming it down.
"Keng — —"
A deep sound rang out in the lab. The steel plate bounced off the table and fell to the ground, but it didn't move at all.
Xu Yi picked up the steel plate from the ground and seriously looked at the gap between the two steel plates. He found that there were no signs of it moving and he couldn't help giving a sigh of surprise.
"This is too strong!
Grandfather, just how did you do it? "
Great Magician Camilla laughed and said in a very proud voice, "Actually I just made a small change to the welding method.
I've heard you talk about using a welding rod to fill the gap and using a melted electrode to connect the steel plates, so I was always thinking about how to fill the welding rod.
But then I thought about it. Since you want to use a melted electrode to solidify it, why don't you just melt the two steel plates and fuse them together. Isn't that much better than using a welding rod? "
Xu Yi was stunned, "Melting the steel plates themselves?
That can't be done, right?
The reason why the welding rod can melt is because the welding rod itself is relatively thin, and some accelerant is added … "
After saying this, Xu't's. Zhang's's's' '''s's' ''s
He suddenly remembered that when Great Magician Camilla was experimenting with welding, he didn't use any welding rods at all. This was because Great Magician Camilla had developed an earth attributed magic that Xu Yi called the "Transformers Array". It could directly melt the metal and didn't require any other methods.
Since it was like this, Great Magician Camilla's idea was undoubtedly correct.
Since it could easily melt steel, why would he need to use a welding rod for welding?
Compared to this kind of welding method that couldn't be considered reliable, of course it was much more stable to let the two steel plates melt together.
Xu Yi looked at the steel plate in his hand that seemed like a complete piece and his heart filled with emotions.
He had been deeply influenced by the ideas of earth, always using earth's methods to consider problems.
But in reality, because of the existence of magic on the Sines, there were some things that couldn't be done easily on earth that could be easily solved by magic.
For example, the Magic Array that Great Magician Camilla had developed that didn't require high temperatures to melt the metal. Compared to the high temperature smelting method on earth, it was much easier and easier to use.
"Let me show you a new welding method that I've developed."
Great Magician Camilla suddenly picked up two steel plates and his finger softly tapped the sides of the two steel plates.
Xu Yi could roughly see that he had placed several very small Magic Arrays on the two steel plates, but because the Magic Arrays were too small, he couldn't see them clearly.
After a while, Great Magician Camilla stopped and raised the two steel plates for Xu Yi to see. Then he placed the two sides of the Magic Array together.
Xu Yi felt a magic fluctuation coming from the steel plates and then Great Magician Camilla let go of one hand. He saw that the two steel plates were connected together like they had been welded together.
"How was this welded together?"
Xu Yi took the steel plate from Great Magician Camilla's hand in a confused manner and carefully looked at the joint between the two steel plates.
Although the joint between the two steel plates was not like the two steel plates that Great Magician Camilla had welded together without any gaps, the joint was very tight and the degree of connection was very high. Even if Xu Yi did a strong impact test again, there were no traces of cracks.
"It's very simple. I just set up several miniature Smelting Arrays on the sides of these two steel plates. Next, I just need to connect the two sides and channel Mana to activate the Magic Arrays. The sides of the steel plates will melt, and naturally, the two steel plates will be welded together."
Xu Yi simulated the welding of the two steel plates in his mind and understood.
This welding method was without a doubt weaker than the previous welding method, but the good thing was that the surface of the steel plates could be kept clean. There was no need to do post-processing like the previous welding method, which was without a doubt much easier.
Moreover, this welding method had a special effect. For example, if there were many places that needed to be welded with a Magic Welding Torch, it would be very difficult to weld because of the space and angle. However, if one used this welding method and placed a Magic Array on the sides of the steel plates, one would only need to touch the steel plates and weld them together. There was no difficulty at all.
Moreover, because this method could prepare ahead of time by placing a Magic Array, in an emergency situation, one could quickly finish the welding and satisfy some special requirements.
Xu Yi instantly thought of a situation where he needed to use this new welding method and couldn't help giving Great Magician Camilla a thumbs up.
"Grandfather, you really are a Great Magician, you can actually think of such a useful method." After saying this, Xu Yi gave a sigh.
"Ai, how good would it be if there were a few more Great Magicians like you researching magic machines."
Great Magician Camilla rolled his eyes, "Do you think that Great Magicians are cabbages sold on the side of the street?
That they can be found so easily? "
Xu Yi laughed, "Of course it isn't that easy to become a Great Magician, but it shouldn't be that hard for a higher level magician, right?"
Great Magician Camilla looked at Xu Yi and gave a cold snort, "Brat, what kind of idea do you have now?
To be honest, I knew that you wouldn't come looking for me for a good thing. "
Xu Yi immediately complained, "Who said it wasn't a good thing?
Could it be that me coming here to give you a raise isn't a good thing? "
"A raise?" Great Magician Camilla was instantly stunned.
"What are you giving me a raise for?
My salary is already over three thousand gold coins a year, what do I need a raise for?
Then again, I have the magic materials the company provides for me, so I don't need that much money.
If you think you have too much money, you might as well give the Academy of Magic a bit more funding. "
"Increasing the funding for the Academy of Magic has already been considered, but giving you a raise is a must. Otherwise, how could we use this to attract other magicians to work for our New Flyer?" Xu Yi said with a laugh.
Great Magician Camilla knit his brows to think about it, understanding Xu Yi's meaning.
"You mean ….. you want to give me a raise and use me as an advertisement?"
"That's right." Xu Yi nodded.
"Look, you are the only Great Magician in our New Flyer, you are the brand of our company.
If anything happens to you, it will definitely attract the attention of other magicians, don't you think? "
"Of course that's right, but ….." Great Magician Camilla looked at Xu Yi and said in a doubtful voice, "How are you planning to use me this time?
Are you just giving me a raise?
I don't think this will have any effect. My salary is already high enough, so it shouldn't have much of an effect if it's increased. "
"Hei, hei, it doesn't have much of an effect because it's too little.
If you want to create a stir, of course you can't be too stingy. "
Great Magician Camilla knit his brows, "How much are you planning on giving me?
Five thousand gold coins a year?
Isn't that too much? "
Xu Yi shook his head with a smile and stretched out a finger.
"No, five thousand gold coins isn't much, so how can it create the stir I want?
This time, I'm planning on giving you a raise of ten thousand gold coins a year! "
"Ten thousand gold coins?" Great Magician Camilla's eyes popped out in shock, "Xu Yi, are you crazy!
You're giving me a salary of ten thousand gold coins a year?
Do you think that the money of Xinfei merchants is free? "
"If you want a good return, of course you need a good investment."
Xu Yi gave a shrug and said in an uncaring voice, "Although ten thousand gold coins isn't considered little, I feel that if it's used to measure the value of a Great Magician like you, it is too little.
To me, just your value alone is far more than a trivial ten thousand gold coins. Not to mention that I have another goal in giving you this kind of salary. "
"To move the hearts of other Great Magicians?" Great Magician Camilla asked back.
Xu Yi nodded with a faint smile, "That's right."
