Lu Yin was confused. "You don't know?
Aren't you Bai Wangyuan's daughter?
How can Bai Wangyuan not recognize the Fog Ancestor's power? "
"How dare you call Ancestor Bai by his name!" Ru Ying shouted.
Bai Qi stared at her and then looked at Lu Yin. "Perhaps they know, but they've never mentioned it. The Misty Cloud Sect is just a small sect, so it's not worth their attention."
Lu Yin looked at Bai Qi and then at Ru Ying. "Your Four Cardinal Scales are very good at smearing history, so use your advantage to advertise your attitude towards me." He pointed at Ru Ying. "I don't want to hear such words again, or else you'll have to pay the price."
Ru Ying glared at him and was about to say something, but Bai Qi stopped her.
Ru Ying was a wandering cultivator and didn't know what had happened in the outside world. She only knew the outcome, and there were many guesses about the outcome.
The Four Cardinal Scales were secretly spreading the news that they had allowed Lu Xiaoxuan to appear in order to draw out more of the Lu family's remnants. This was an answer that most cultivators in the Cosmic Tree Realm were willing to accept.
Bai Qi was different, as she knew about the agreement between the Four Cardinal Scales and Lu Yin. She also knew that Xia Shenji and Bai Sheng had both suffered in the Abandoned Lands, so she knew that Lu Yin wasn't someone to be trifled with.
"What about that beam?
What's that? "
Bai Qi asked.
Lu Yin clasped his hands behind his back. "It's a weapon that we developed in the Abandoned Lands. It can directly kill an Enlighter, but Corpse Kings have high defenses. However, a beam can easily kill a Hunter Corpse King."
"They're wearing defensive armor, right?"
"It's enough to block a peak Enlighter's attack."
Bai Qi was shocked. "You guys are so wasteful. Or did you use up all the resources in the Abandoned Lands for the fourth formation base?"
Lu Yin's lips curled up. "It's nothing. You'll know in the future."
Bai Qi looked at the battlefield again. "Then, where did the sword qi come from?"
Lu Yin took out the Splitting Heaven Array from his cosmic ring and tossed it to her. "Take a look. Does it look familiar?"
Bai Qi took it and looked at it. "I think so."
"This belongs to Bai Shaohong. I killed him and stole it," Lu Yin said coldly.
Bai Qi's eyes widened, and behind her, Ru Ying and the rest of the Commanders were stunned.
They knew that Lu Yin had killed Bai Shaohong, but to say it out loud in front of Bai Qi was tantamount to provocation.
Bai Qi's gaze turned cold as she stared at Lu Yin, "What are you trying to say?"
Lu Yin didn't care what Bai Qi thought, even if Bai Wangyuan was standing right next to them. "This thing is an instant-activation weapon created using a sourcebox array. I call it a microarray weapon. In your Frigid Immortal Sect, it's just a power vessel that belongs to Bai Shaohong, and it's gone once it's used up. But in our Abandoned Lands, we've turned it into a weapon of war, and we've developed countless microarray weapons based on it. We've distributed them to cultivators and stored sword qi within them." He then raised a finger. "A Sentinel can use a microarray weapon to kill an Enlighter."
Bai Qi and the others' expressions changed drastically as they looked at Lu Yin in shock.
"That's the use of microarrays. If your Frigid Immortal Sect had discovered its use earlier, the backline wouldn't have been suppressed to this extent. Bai Wangyuan is stupid, and so are your descendants. Your stupidity is beyond compare," Lu Yin mocked. He wasn't worried that the Frigid Immortal Sect would be able to produce it. Aurora had taken a long time to produce it, so how could the Frigid Immortal Sect make up for the difference?
After all, this starry sky is not empty.
The development of technology was more important.
No one cared about what Lu Yin was saying, and they all stared blankly at the Splitting Heaven Array in Bai Qi's hands.
Something that Bai Shaohong had treated as a power vessel was definitely not simple. How could something like this be mass-produced?
They didn't believe it, but when they saw the sword qi streaking across the battlefield, they had no choice but to believe it.
Every sword qi had the power of an Enlighter; how could there be so many Enlighters in the Fifth Mainland?
It was simply a mass release of sword qi, which was inconceivable.
Bai Qi looked at Lu Yin in shock. "How did you guys do it?"
Lu Yin ignored her. "Leave the fourth base. From now on, this place belongs to me." He then took a step forward and appeared on the battlefield of the fourth base. Bai Qi's headquarters wasn't too far away.
The Corpse King was gradually pushed back, and the million-strong Astral Beast Army climbed up the base to chase after it.
Lu Yin stepped into the headquarters, where some of the people who had originally belonged to the fourth base didn't want to leave and had stayed behind.
After Lu Yin entered, Elder Chan and the rest followed suit.
Within the headquarters, nearly a hundred cultivators held their breaths as they watched Lu Yin's group walk over. They all bowed in unison. "Greetings." Suddenly, they did not know how to address him. Lu Yin was clearly the most senior amongst them, but he was neither the commander nor the array core. As for the four Half-Martial Ancestors, who was the commander?
Lu Yin laughed. "Call me Daozi. My name is Lu Yin, and I used to go by the name Lu Xiaoxuan."
The fourth base had already been notified that Lu Xiaoxuan would be leading the Abandoned Land to take over the defense of the fourth base, so they weren't surprised.
However, when they heard Lu Xiaoxuan's name, they couldn't hide their shock.
The Four Way Scales had allowed Lu Xiaoxuan to walk through the Astral Tree safely, which didn't make any sense.
"Greetings, Daozi." The group of cultivators bowed respectfully.
Some of the cultivators who had stayed behind were worried about the fourth base's defenses and wanted to see if they could help. They weren't optimistic about the Abandoned Land's strength, and they didn't want the fourth base's defenses to be destroyed because of the Abandoned Land. There were also those who had been ordered to stay behind and keep an eye on the Abandoned Land. There were also those who simply didn't want to leave the fourth base, as they wouldn't be able to survive if they did.
Lu Yin didn't care about their motives for staying behind, as it didn't matter. The fourth base was the humans' front line against the Eternals, and neither he nor the Four Way Scales could do anything here. As for learning more about Lu Yin through the cultivators from the Fifth Mainland, that was even less important. The more they learned about Lu Yin, the more astonished they would be. His experiences were legendary to anyone.
However, one of them caught Lu Yin's attention: Jiu Zizai, the fourth base's commander and the only one who had stayed behind.
He also had another identity: Redback.
Back when Lu Yin had used his die's Possession, he had coincidentally fused with Jiu Zizai's body. He knew that Jiu Zizai was a Redback developed by Marquis Wuyi, and that Jiu Zizai had never done anything to the fourth base. Marquis Wuyi's goal had been to have Jiu Zizai retire after the fourth base had been completed, and then use his contributions to return to the Astral Tree.
As he looked at Jiu Zizai, Lu Yin wondered how many people were like him on the battlefield.
Some had come to the battlefield for the sake of humanity, some had come to hide from their enemies, and some had come to fight for a future. Regardless of the situation, there was no lack of people who were afraid of death on the battlefield, and there were probably many such Redbacks.
It should be said that many Redbacks in the Astral Tree had been developed here.
The frontlines of humanity were supposed to be a place where they would risk their lives, but instead, it had become an eternal battlefield.
It was the most advantageous place for the Eternals to develop Redbacks.
Everyone quietly waited for Lu Yin to speak.
Lu Yin just looked at Jiu Zizai, causing him to panic.
He wasn't worried that his identity as a Redback would be exposed, as that would be impossible. He had never done anything that was detrimental to the fourth base, so how could he be exposed? He was worried that Lu Yin would chase him away.
"Jiu Zizai?"
Lu Yin spoke up, looking down at him from above.
Jiu Zizai's heart trembled, and he stepped forward. "Yes, Daozi."
Lu Yin asked, "Why did you stay? The other Medallions have all left with Bai Qi. You're the number one Medallion Medallion, second only to the commander and the core of the formation. As long as you follow her back to the Astral Tree, you'll definitely be put in an important position."
Jiu Zizai felt bitter. If only that were the case, then his goal would have been accomplished. However, it was precisely because he was outstanding that Bai Qi thought highly of him that he had been forced to stay behind and watch over these people in the abandoned land. He didn't want to do that either.
"This subordinate swears to protect the fourth base to the death. I won't back down," Jiu Zizai gritted his teeth. He was unwilling, but others saw him as resolute.
Hen Xin and the others looked at him with satisfaction. Not everyone wanted to stay behind, and this person was not bad.
Lu Yin smiled. "Not bad, not bad at all. Since you want to stay, we won't treat you unfairly. When the Fifth Mainland's army changes out, you can choose to go to the Fifth Mainland's Heaven's Sect. You don't have to go to the Astral Tree. I'll leave that choice to you." He then waved his hand, and Jiu Zizai and the others all left.
He was stunned. Go to the Fifth Mainland?
That was an abandoned land, right? Only an idiot would go there.
Lu Yin watched as Jiu Zizai left. He hadn't given Jiu Zizai a choice, but rather the Everlasting Race. He wanted to see how the Everlasting Race would use Jiu Zizai, a Redback.
"Dao Disciple, it's unlikely that he'll go to the Fifth Mainland," Hen Xin said.
The others found it strange as well. Lu Yin had given Jiu Zizai a choice on their first meeting. Why would he go to the Fifth Mainland?
It was a little strange.
Lu Yin smiled. "Not necessarily. Maybe he'll be conquered by my magnanimity, haha."
Everyone was speechless.
"Alright, we've arrived at the back of the battlefield. From now on, this will be everyone's battlefield. I, Lu Yin, am here to thank everyone for their contributions to the human race," Lu Yin said solemnly.
Outside the fourth base, Bai Qi watched the astral beast army clean up the battlefield. The astral beasts were organized, and they really did look like an army.
The abandoned land wasn't as weak as she had imagined. On the contrary, it was very strong. At the very least, in a battlefield of this level, not even the blood-red fifth base could compare.
The way the Abandoned Land fought had opened Bai Qi's eyes. She wanted to report back to her sect and her father that the Astral Tree's way of fighting should change.
It wasn't just Bai Qi; Wang Zheng was thinking the same thing. He was one step ahead of Bai Qi and had already reported to Wang Fan.
After Bai Qi's report, Bai Wangyuan and Wang Fan grew serious.
The Fifth Mainland wasn't as simple as they had thought.
On the Wang family's mainland, Wang Zheng continued to listen to Wang Shang's report on the Fifth Mainland. Wang Fan's ancestor had said that everything about the Fifth Mainland had to be reported in detail.
At that moment, someone reported, "Patriarch, someone else has walked out of the Xinkong Corridor."
Wang Zheng was puzzled. "Someone else?"
He didn't hesitate and went to the edge of the mainland to look down.
Two people had walked out of the Xinkong Corridor. One was the Skymender Imperial Tutor, and the other was naturally the Blood Ancestor.
