Star Odyssey - Chapter40

Lu Yin stared coldly at her, "I'll say it again, help me apply the ointment."

Gerlaine gritted her teeth, "Fine, I'll settle this with you one day." She then applied the ointment on her hand and pressed it against his back.

Lu Yin exhaled as a cool sensation washed over him; the ointment from Shamrock Enterprises was very effective, scabbing over very quickly.

Gerlaine's small hands were soft, and with the ointment on them, he enjoyed it for a while. His gaze softened as he looked at her.

"Hmph, get up, let's keep robbing," she said.

Lu Yin tossed the cosmic ring back to her, "No more robbing, that's enough. Go have fun on your own."

"No, Eddy hasn't shown up yet, we have to rob him."

Lu Yin smiled and ignored her; these people hadn't taken him seriously before, thinking that one of the academy's strongest would be enough to deal with him. Now, however, seven of them had appeared at once. Only an idiot would try to rob them again.

Rummaging through the cosmic rings of the five students, he found two more cubes of star crystals and waved to Gerlaine before flying away.

Gerlaine suddenly shouted, "Bastard, my armor, my bow!"

"Lend it to me for now, I'll return it later." His voice drifted away until it couldn't be heard anymore.

Gerlaine stomped her feet in anger; her brother had given her the armor and bow for self-defense, and they were the reason why Eddy had been so wary of her. Now, they had all been taken from her, that despicable bastard!

In the capital, Zhang Dingtian and the rest saw the results on the network.

Bai Xue was shocked; the students from the heavens were all in the Realm of Sky, and those who dared to complete the mission were at least in the top three of their academy. She had personally witnessed the strength of the academy's strongest, but now, seven of them had been defeated. How had Lu Yin become so strong in just a few days?

Zhang Dingtian suddenly looked towards the south of the capital, a rare smile on his face, "An old friend is here."

Bai Xue's eyes lit up, "That's … Zhou Shan?"

The two quickly flew towards the south, but stopped halfway and looked towards the north, "Another old friend. Looks like they all want to get involved in this mess."

Bai Xue was pleasantly surprised, "Wu Sheng is here too, that's great!"

Zhang Dingtian took a deep breath, "They shouldn't have come. There are four of the Seven Sages, five against dozens of students. What a disparity in power."

In the distance, Lu Yin found a remote mountain village and set up fire crystals around it. He took out a large handful of star crystals and crushed them, causing a surge of star energy as he used Sirius to absorb.

In the west of the capital, Eddy and a dozen other students appeared, "Everyone, prepare yourselves. We'll officially attack the capital in three days. Our opponents won't be the natives guarding the capital, but the second batch of trialtakers. According to the rules, even if there are Melders in the second batch, their powers will be sealed and they'll only be Sentinels. Even so, they're not something ordinary people can handle.

All the students were solemn.

It was rare for a second batch of trial takers to appear in the Great Yu Empire's planetary trials. This time, it was purely because of Astral-10. Many hidden geniuses had participated in the trials for the sake of their results, and this was the reason for the second batch of trial takers. A portion of them had come to Earth, and the Great Yu Empire's students were about to face such geniuses.

More and more students approached the capital.

In the south of Huaxia, a dozen exhausted students landed on the ocean, "We're finally in Huaxia. That Eddy is organizing people to steal from the fugitive. Let's go, we can't let him get ahead of us."

Groups of students appeared in the east and north as well. Huaxia was surging like a storm.

When the sun lit up the land on the third day, Zhang Dingtian stood atop a steel wall and looked into the distance. A group of black figures had appeared.

At the same time, in the distance, Lu Yin opened his eyes. He had absorbed five cubes of star crystals over the past three days and expelled the impurities from his body. His body was now filled with boiling star energy, and he was much stronger than before. This was energy suppression; the more star energy he absorbed, the stronger his energy would become. He was now a peak Sentinel with a power level of 3,000.

Over the past few days, Lu Yin had stolen seven cubes of star crystals and used up five of them. He looked at the remaining two cubes in front of him and couldn't resist the temptation. He took out his die and rubbed his hands together, "Come on, let's gamble. I hope I don't get one this time, it's too much of a scam. It's almost impossible to steal anything good." He crushed one of the cubes.

The dim surface of the die changed rapidly, eventually turning into a sparkling star.

Lu Yin swallowed hard and tapped the die lightly with his finger. The die spun rapidly, and Lu Yin stared at it with wide eyes. Finally, the die's five faces disappeared, leaving only a single face — two pips.

Lu Yin grew excited. Two pips, an unfamiliar number. Lu Yin stared at the die, and a black hole suddenly appeared at the bottom of the die as it rotated. Lu Yin suddenly thought of a use for it. "Disintegrate?

Decompose everything? "Lu Yin was confused; what did that mean?

He looked at the slowly spinning black hole and thought for a moment before tossing a piece of scrap metal into it. However, the scrap metal fell out of the black hole in an instant. It was no longer scrap metal, but rather a complete piece of metal. Its surface was smooth and hard, and its volume was much smaller than scrap metal.

Lu Yin looked at the metal and understood what decompose meant. Anything that wasn't alive would be decomposed into its starting materials.

This wasn't a bad idea; he thought for a moment before tossing in a cosmic ring that he'd robbed from a student. He'd taken quite a few rings and hadn't returned them because they'd gone too far.

A fingernail-sized piece of dark red metal fell out of the ring. Lu Yin was pleasantly surprised; it was dragon gold, a precious mineral used to make cosmic rings.

He put the gold away and tossed all of the stolen cosmic rings into the black hole, obtaining a thumb-sized chunk of gold. He thought about it for a moment before tossing it into the black hole. A piece of metal that sparkled with a dark golden light fell out with a thud. Lu Yin's eyes widened; this was the essence of ancient gold. Its price far exceeded that of ancient gold, and it was a necessary material for making extremely large cosmic rings.

He carefully put it away and grew excited, "Should I find a junkyard to decompose things in the future?"

Five minutes later, the black hole disappeared.

Just like the Time Stop Space, the black hole's duration could be exchanged for star crystals. Lu Yin guessed that the exchange rate would be the same, but he felt a headache coming on; no amount of star crystals would be enough.

"Forget it, I'll think of something in the future," he muttered to himself as he moved his body, causing it to crack. He looked up in the direction of the capital, "It's time to go back." With that, he flew off into the distance.

By the time he reached the capital, it was already in chaos. Millions of survivors were looking up at the sky in fear as shockwaves swept across the land from time to time, bringing disaster to the city.

Eddy had joined forces with more than twenty students to attack the capital, and by the time news of this spread, the war had already begun.

The steel walls were immediately destroyed, and Bai Xue stood outside the ruined walls, panting heavily as she faced the arrogant Hayden and two other students.

"A mere native wants to stop us? She overestimates herself," one of the students said disdainfully as he stared at Bai Xue with burning eyes. She was just too beautiful.

The other student's gaze was just as fervent.

They were the strongest in their respective academies, and just one of them was enough to deal with Bai Xue. However, her beauty had attracted the attention of three other students, and if not for the fact that there were too many of them, there would have been quite a few students looking over from afar.

Hayden frowned at her, "Woman, I'll give you a chance to submit to us, and I'll take you away from this trash planet and explore the stars."

"Hayden, you can't be thinking of taking everything for yourself, can you?"

Hayden was cold and arrogant; there were differences between academies, and he was stronger than the other two. Only Eddy and Zhang Dingtian could defeat him, and he didn't care about the rest.

Bai Xue clenched her fists and slowly exhaled, her blue hair fluttering in the wind as the ground froze over and the surrounding temperature plummeted.

The three students didn't mind; this woman was at most comparable to the strongest in the academy, and it was unrealistic for her to take on all three of them at once.

In the distance, Zhou Shan roared in anger as he crashed to the ground with one of the students; he was barely strong enough to deal with one of them.

There were still a dozen figures floating in the sky, looking down with cold arrogance. They weren't worried about losing; this was just a native city.

"What a waste of time. Attack," one of the students arrogantly said, raising his hand and pressing down on the capital. The pressure dropped, and countless people spat out blood as they looked up in despair.
