"Those with less than 10,000 reward points will be eliminated!
There are 13,220 people remaining. "As soon as the first stage ended, Yang Tian's auxiliary device issued a notification.
Next, it was the second stage.
After being teleported out of the cave maze in the first stage, Yang Tian, like the others, appeared below a tall stone platform.
The shape of this stone platform looked like a large pyramid. It was built with grey-white rocks. From the bottom to the top, there were stone steps that extended all the way to the platform at the top.
The second stage had not started yet. Many people wanted to climb up the stone platform to take a look at the platform at the top. However, they were blocked by an invisible force.
Yang Tian also tried. No matter how much strength he used, he could not go up.
Therefore, the cultivators who came out of the first stage could only wait quietly.
About half an hour after Yang Tian came out, the first stage of the reward event ended.
After the auxiliary device announced the number of people who passed the first stage, it immediately announced the start of the second stage.
"Rumble …"
As soon as the notification ended, the huge 'pyramid' in front of Yang Tian and the others began to change shape. Moreover, it was rising rapidly. The ground trembled non-stop, producing a strong sound of friction.
A few minutes later, the stone platform in front of Yang Tian and the others, which was originally pyramid-shaped, had risen to a height where no one could see the top.
This was because the top had been covered by white clouds.
The place that the stone platform originally occupied had doubled in size. It was originally in the shape of a pyramid, but it had become a cylindrical building with square potholes on the surface and a small head at the bottom.
"Sir, next, you will need to climb to the top with your bare hands. The virtual world will block the energy of all experiencers …"
Wasn't this an extreme challenge?
When Yang Tian heard the auxiliary device's notification, he could not help but open his eyes wide. He thought of an activity on Earth, which was bare-handed rock climbing. This was an extreme challenge.
It might be more difficult to climb up this cylindrical building.
This was because the potholes on the top were messy and irregular. Some places were densely packed, while others were three to four meters apart.
If one could not use powerful strength, it would be more difficult to climb up with just the strength of one's physical body.
Furthermore, this cylindrical structure would change every once in a while. Perhaps the hole in his hand would disappear in the next moment.
During this process, if one's luck was bad, no matter how strong one's combat strength was, one would only be eliminated.
Although this was a virtual world, it was extremely realistic. It felt exactly the same as the real world.
Therefore, in addition to testing the cultivator's physical coordination, this stage also tested their mental fortitude.
This strange pillar-shaped building was at least several thousand meters tall. If one fell from it and hit the ground, it would be very painful. It would be even more painful than being killed by strange beasts. Because cultivators had strong physiques, they wouldn't lose consciousness after falling to the ground like ordinary people …
As soon as the second stage was explained, hundreds of people gave up.
There were still 12,528 participants left.
After that, every time a person failed, the support device would prompt them.
The reward points for this level were awarded based on the time taken to complete it. The earlier one reached the top, the more reward points they would receive.
The countdown began!
When the support device announced the start, more than ten thousand people rushed toward this strange man-made building with small feet and a big head.
The holes at the bottom were denser and easier to climb. The higher one went, the harder it was to climb. After reaching a certain height, if one looked down, they would find that their bodies were floating.
Yang Tian followed the crowd and rushed toward the pillar-shaped building. He found that he could not mobilize the energy in his body. He couldn't even use his mental power.
Next, he could only rely on his physical strength.
In reality, cultivators who often participated in battles or liked extreme survival activities like this would have an advantage in this aspect.
The rule was to use bare hands. Of course, weapons could not be used. The armor on the body would also disappear.
Yang Tian followed the crowd and rushed to the pillar-shaped building. He grabbed the holes on the top and quickly climbed up.
At first, there were a lot of people. They were practically huddled together, making it extremely crowded.
During this process, many people played tricks. They even stepped on the heads of others to climb up. The people below were unconvinced and dragged the legs of the people above. Then, the two people fell together.
They only climbed for about ten meters. However, as soon as the two people touched the ground and got up and were about to continue, they turned into a red light and disappeared in a flash.
At the same time, everyone's support devices would prompt them to see how many people were left.
Was this considered elimination?
Many people were shocked when they saw this. At first, they thought that they would only be eliminated if they fell to their deaths!
Once such a situation occurred, everyone became well-behaved and even showed signs of modesty to each other.
After all, everyone wanted to climb to the top. They usually had no grudges. Why would they make things difficult for others at this time?
When he was still in high school on Earth, Yang Tian had watched extreme challenge videos in the school's reference room. He knew what to do at this time.
At this time, he tried not to think about how high he had climbed and how high he was to reach the top. He also did not look down. Instead, he focused his attention on climbing.
As he kept climbing, the speed of the air flow became faster and faster. Yang Tian's surroundings became quieter and quieter.
Soon, Yang Tian climbed to a height of a thousand meters from the ground.
From time to time, he could hear screams coming from below.
This was the sound of a cultivator who accidentally fell from the sky, unable to control himself as he fell from the sky. Then, a 'bang' sound came from the ground.
This sound of falling to the ground was unavoidably heart-wrenching. It was too painful!
From time to time, people fell above Yang Tian's head.
At this time, about an hour had passed since the start of this stage.
"Rumble …"
Suddenly, the column-shaped building Yang Tian was climbing began to move, making a rumbling sound.
When Yang Tian clung onto the square shaped hole, a square shaped rock was squeezing outwards. Very soon, the rock came into contact with his fingers and started pushing his fingers outwards.
"Ah … Ah … Ah …"
When the column-shaped building moved, the screams that had stopped for a while sounded again. Many people fell down.
Yang Tian ignored the screams of others. At this critical moment, he tried to keep his mind calm and pay attention to the changes in the stones around him.
When his fingers were about to be squeezed out and his feet had lost support, Yang Tian finally saw a square stone next to him slowly retracting.
Yang Tian seized this opportunity. He stretched out his right hand and used three fingers to grab the edge of the sunken hole. He began to shift his center of gravity to the right.
However, during this process, the stone that had shrunk back by about three centimeters suddenly squeezed out again.
"Phew …"
At this critical moment, Yang Tian let out a long breath. He still shifted his center of gravity to his right hand.
This was because the hole he was climbing on was about to flatten out!
