As long as I didn't die in the game, then I was basically fine.
The boss charged toward me with a ferocious glint in his eyes. He tried to kill me with a single slash, but he couldn't get close to me at all. Bing Cha happened to be blocking the hole I had created. The boss could only watch anxiously as he tried to move forward, but he couldn't get close to me.
Bing Cha stared at the terrifying boss at close range. She was so scared that she couldn't say a word. She just stood there in a daze.
I suddenly came to a realization. Wasn't this our chance?
Originally, this Dark Gold Rank boss wasn't something we could handle. But now, a bug that couldn't really be considered a bug had appeared. I could use this natural advantage to defeat this boss without taking any damage!
I quickly stood up, switched to the Star Chaser Bow, and threw an Armor Piercing Arrow!
Clang!
The milky white arrow pierced through Bing Cha's head and nailed itself into the boss's chest!
“1279！”
When Ling Yue and Silent Rain saw this number, they stopped attacking. Ling Xue's eyes lit up as she chuckled. "Here's our chance!"
The little beauty was smart and understood my intentions, so she shouted, "Ice Tea, don't move!"
Bing Cha said helplessly, "I'm so scared that my legs are like jelly. I can't move even if I wanted to …"
At this time, the boss's aggro was completely focused on me. However, I was the only one who could attack, so my DPS was extremely low.
Seeing this, Ling Yue immediately raised her hand and hit the boss's shoulder with a Fire Dragon Spell. At the same time, she ordered, "Bing Cha, move out of the way. I'll lure the boss away. Ling Xue, get ready to block the exit!"
Ling Yue's Magic Attack was super high, so she successfully attracted the boss's aggro in one hit. The undead captain immediately swung his longsword and pounced at Ling Yue.
Bing Cha was still in a daze, so I hurriedly pulled him away. Zi Yun 'er hurriedly ran in, followed by Soundless Rain and Ling Yue, who was being chased by the boss.
When a few ranged attackers entered the narrow space, Ling Xue immediately flashed in front of the Boss. After a beautiful zigzag movement, she was already standing on the gap. The Boss could only stare at Ling Yue helplessly.
Ling Yue smiled. "Let's get to work!
Time to get to work! "
As a result, Zi Yun 'er, who didn't need to heal herself, could finally attack. She threw a curse at the boss's head, while Ling Yue and I attacked with Armor-Piercing Arrow and Fire Dragon Spell respectively.
The situation immediately became very clear. With everyone's cooperation, the undead captain couldn't enter the cabin at all. He could only wander around outside. He was twice as tall as Ling Xue, so he was an obvious target. We didn't have to worry about missing.
On the other hand, Zi Yue and Xia Xia stayed in the cabin where the boss was. The two of them were extremely worried. "Will the boss turn around and stab us?"
I smiled in the party channel. "Don't worry. At most, you'll just lose a level. If you stand far away, you shouldn't attract the boss's aggro."
Hearing this, Zi Yue and Summer immediately retreated dozens of miles away. From the looks of it, it looked like they wanted to stand in the safe zone of Muguang City.
Ling Yue and I acted as the absolute main attackers. Ling Xue blocked the boss's position. I felt bored, so I chatted with Ling Yue.
"Sis, you seem to have lost weight recently …"
"Yes, work is very complicated.
Snow, you seem to have gained weight recently … "
"Yes, it's very free in school. I just eat, drink, and play …"
I attacked while looking at Ling Xue and then Ling Yue. I said, "How come I can't tell who is fat and who is thin?"
Ling Xue smiled. "Nonsense!
My sister and I are only 0.5 kg apart in weight. It would be strange if you could tell! "
I immediately asked, "Ling Xue, how much do you weigh?"
Ling Xue said, "I won't tell you. How much do you weigh?"
"65 kg."
Ling Xue took an inch and wanted a foot. "What about your three measurements?"
I glared. "I should be the one asking you that. Why are you asking me?"
Ling Xue laughed. "That's because you haven't asked me ~ ~"
I immediately drooled. "That's good!
Now I'm asking, what are your three measurements? "
"I'm not telling you!"
"..."
Time flew by as we spoke. Half an hour passed in the blink of an eye, and the Dark Gold – grade boss's HP had dropped to critical.
Bing Cha said happily, "It's almost time to call it a day!"
However, the road to happiness was strewn with setbacks. Just as everyone was celebrating, the Undead Captain, the Dark Gold Boss, suddenly raised its longsword and roared, "Damned humans, go to hell!"
Ding ~!
System Notice: The Dark Gold – grade boss Undead Captain Hawk has undergone a mutation. All stats increased by 40%. Learned the skill "Sword Aura Slash"!
"Bang!"
A ray of sword light descended, and Ling Xue, who was in front of him, was instantly killed!
Ding ~!
Combat Log: Undead Captain Hawk used "Sword Aura Slash", dealing 5402 damage to player "Windy Snow". Player "Windy Snow" is dead!
The next moment, Ling Xue's body gradually condensed into light and was reborn under the effect of the Resurrection Prophecy. However, in this short span of one second, the cunning boss had actually passed through Ling Xue's void figure and directly attacked.
Ling Yue and I exchanged a glance with each other. There was only one outcome to this situation: the boss was going to slaughter us!
Whoosh!
I flew backward and grabbed Ling Yue's hand, pulling her toward a corner.
Bing Cha took the brunt of the attack. When the boss's sword cut across her chest, a number flew up. "10724!"
Fuck, over ten thousand damage!
The mutated boss was too scary!
Zi Yun 'er hurriedly used a curse on the boss, but it didn't affect its movement speed by much. The boss still caught up to me and Ling Yue!
Puchi!
The boss swung its sword, and Ling Yue and I were one-shot!
“7562！”
“18907！”
The ridiculous damage number was shocking. The good news was that Zi Yun 'er's Resurrection Prophecy was enough to buff everyone present, so we all had one chance to resurrect.
However, there was no second chance. Ling Xue shouted anxiously at the exit, "Idiot!
Sis!
Over here! "
I hurriedly ran over with Ling Yue. When I looked back, Zi Yun 'er was already within the boss's attack range!
Oh no!
Damn it, why is she daydreaming at a time like this!
After handing Ling Yue to Ling Xue, I returned to the exit. However, the undead captain was already ahead of me and killed Zi Yun 'er. Before she died, however, she smiled at me with eyes as gentle as water.
Right now, the undead captain was going all out. The newly resurrected Bing Cha couldn't react in time and was one-shot again. This time, she died for real and lost one level!
Zi Yun 'er's body gradually reformed. Resurrection took about three seconds or so, but the despicable boss seemed to be waiting for her to come back to life. He just stood there.
I couldn't help but groan inwardly. I charged forward and threw Total Annihilation with the Bloodthirst Spear!
"Peng peng!" Two damage numbers appeared above the Boss's head-
“543！”
“576！”
At the same time, the boss's sword suddenly froze in midair. My legs turned to jelly, and I fell to the ground.
Ding ~!
Combat Log: Combat Log: Your attack has been petrified. Target Undead Captain Hawk has been petrified. Unable to attack or move, Defense increased by 300% for 30 seconds!
… …
I let out a sigh of relief as I watched the undead captain slowly turn into stone. The 10% petrification chance had been triggered at this critical moment!
My character finally shone, and I immediately won the reputation of the King of Character!
Zi Yun 'er's cheeks were red, and she was clearly very nervous. She quickly reached out a white hand and said with a smile, "Why aren't you running?"
I stilled. Ling Xue was watching from afar, and I immediately felt a trace of murderous intent.
So I raised my arm and let Zi Yun 'er hold my armor and pull me up. This way, it wouldn't be too abrupt.
Zi Yun 'er seemed to know what I was thinking, but she pursed her lips into a smile and didn't point it out.
A few seconds later, we returned to the original cabin, and Ling Yue started attacking the boss. This time, we lost Bing Cha, but Ling Yue didn't die. After all, Ling Yue was currently the number one player in the China server. If we could keep this ranking, we would be protecting the golden name of Xue Yue Studio!
The undead captain's HP was completely empty, but this Dark Gold Rank boss had 850k HP. Who knew how much HP he had left?
As expected, after Ling Yue and I blasted the undead captain for almost two minutes, the undead captain finally fell to the ground with a painful groan. His giant body collapsed, and a bunch of gold and several pieces of equipment dropped.
Ling Xue was right next to the boss, so it was only natural that she should pick up the loot. When the equipment was put into her bag, Ling Xue immediately smiled and said, "Should we return to the city and look at the equipment in front of Bing Cha?"
Ling Xue was very understanding. This was probably the only way to calm Bing Cha's mind. However, there was another problem we faced, and that was that we had to turn in the quest first!
At this time, Bing Cha's voice came from the party channel. "I'm on my way. Wait for me for half an hour. Will the boss's body be gone in half an hour?"
I said, "I hope not. We'll wait for you here then!"
"Mn!"
Thus, everyone guarded the Boss' corpse. At the same time, everyone obtained the quest item — Captain Hawk's head. The strange thing was that each of us had one head. This Captain Hawk had so many heads that he looked like a nine-headed monster.
Half an hour later, Bing Cha finally arrived. Less than two minutes after she picked up the quest item, the boss's body quickly refreshed!
Patting his chest proudly, Bing Cha let out a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness I made it in time. I felt like my backyard was on fire the whole time!"
Ling Yue couldn't help but giggle. "Alright, alright. Let's look at the equipment!"
Ling Xue nodded and immediately took out the three pieces of equipment dropped by the Dark Gold Boss. They were a staff, a pair of armor boots, and a ring. Apart from that, there was also a light blue skill book.
First was the staff. It glowed with a cyan light, and there was a pearl embedded at the top of the staff.
[Staff of the Snow Goddess] (Dark Gold – grade)
Magic Attack: 220 ~ 350
Intelligence: + 20
Stamina: + 12
Passive: Increases user's ice magic damage by 20%
Slots: 1
Level Requirement: 48
(Unappraised)
… …
Everyone was dumbfounded. This was definitely the first Dark Gold – grade staff in Spirit of Grief. It already had 350 Magic Attack before appraising. What would happen if it was appraised?
Without a doubt, the staff's ownership couldn't be more obvious. It would be a waste not to give such a top-tier weapon to the number one female mage.
Ling Xue asked with a smile, "This is for my sister, Ling Yue. Does anyone have any objections?"
Everyone smiled and nodded. The Staff of the Snow Goddess appeared in Ling Yue's hand in the next moment. Ling Yue was overjoyed when she held the Dark Gold – grade staff.
The second piece of equipment dropped by the boss was a pair of golden metal armor boots —
[Radiant War Boots] (Gold-grade)
Defense: 85
Strength: + 15
Stamina: + 10
Passive: Increases user's physical attack by 3%
Level Requirement: 45
(Unappraised)
… …
Another Gold-grade item!
Ling Xue glanced at me. Suddenly, I received a message from her: "Dummy, I want to leave this equipment to you. What should I do? Do you have any good ideas?"
I looked back and saw Ling Xue staring at me with wide eyes. I couldn't help but laugh. The little girl was trying to sneak up on me. As expected, this was Ling Xue's style.
Therefore, I replied, "No need. Give it to Bing Cha. We'll just have to get better equipment in the future!"
Bing Cha's gaze lingered on the boots for a few seconds. She looked like she wanted to say something.
I saw it and said with a smile, "I took the Petrification Necklace and the Fearless Breastplate. In that case, the Radiant War Boots will be split between Bing Cha and Ling Xue …"
Ling Xue immediately shook her head and said, "I won't trade the Gale Silver-grade set unless it's over Level 50 Gold-grade!"
It was obvious that the Gold-grade boots would belong to Bing Cha.
Bing Cha looked at me and said, "Scholar, your boots are the Bronze-grade ones. Let's roll to decide who gets it. Otherwise, I won't feel at ease …"
I smiled and said, "It's fine. I already feel sorry for what I did to you today. Besides, that Fearless Breastplate's stats are even better than these boots. I also spent 1500 gold to buy the Fearless Breastplate. Um … Iced Tea, if you feel bad about it, you can return the gold to me!"
Bing Cha immediately smiled and said, "No way, I exchanged the gold for RMB. I'm going to buy clothes, so just treat it as my expenses ~ ~"
I complained, "Uhh, why am I the one paying for your clothes?"
Ling Xue glared at me and said, "Stop complaining. This armor belongs to Sister Bing Cha, and I'll compensate you if I get any more melee equipment!"
I could only nod.
At this time, Ling Xue opened up the stats of the third equipment — —
[Gale Ring] (Gold-grade — Ring)
Strength: + 17
Stamina: + 9
Passive: Increases user's attack speed by 2%
Level Requirement: 45
(Unappraised)
