"Big brother, be careful!
I feel … … a very evil aura! "Ling 'er reminded me.
I nodded. Actually, every boss was evil and we players were the brave warriors who killed evil. It was always like that.
The Wind General Zhang Han on the first floor of the Ancient Qin Barren Tomb was already strong enough. The boss on this floor was probably even stronger. To be safe, I switched to my Elemental Bow and shot an Armor Piercing Arrow!
"Xiu!"
The sound of the arrow breaking through the air was so loud that it hurt my eardrums. The Armor Piercing Arrow shone brightly as it landed on the chest of the statue. In the next moment, the surface of the BOSS was completely peeled off, revealing the appearance inside. Instantly, I was shocked — — a spear, a white robe, a body of silver armor, and a white cloak fluttering in the wind. This was the appearance of the White Robed General Zhao Yun!
But, in reality, this wasn't Zhao Yun, but he had another shocking title — —
[Earth General – Wang Jian] (Heaven Rank Boss)
Level: 135
Attack: 2750 – 3200
Defense: 2800
Health: 2800000
Skills: [Flurry Spear Technique], [Spear Light Flurry], [Earthquake Mountains]
Bonus: The general of the Ancient Qin Empire's infantry. He once used a silver spear to sweep through the Spirit of Grief Continent's Ghost Army. He also led 3000 personal guards to attack a Necromancer's nest and killed a hundred thousand evil spirits. In the Ancient Qin Empire, he enjoyed an irreplaceable reputation. At the same time, the Earth General – Wang Jian was one of the few experts on the continent in the past … …
Heaven Rank Boss!
I was shocked. As expected, this Earth General was much stronger than the Wind General. His attack power and other aspects were greatly increased. Moreover, he had a skill called "Earthquake Mountains". The name was very shocking, and its power should be far greater than the Wind General's Huashan Splitting skill!
The Earth General pointed his spear and shouted, "Ignorant junior, you dare to invade the borders of my empire!"
The BOSS didn't say anything and charged forward. He shook his silver spear, and instantly, countless spears of light rained down on me. I couldn't dodge at all, and could only raise my shield and take a defensive stance to defend against this attack!
"Pa pa pa!"
The silver spear wreaked havoc, creating three ripples on my Hell Shield. My health instantly dropped by half. I hurriedly retreated and drank a health potion. This BOSS was really strong. Just a single stab was enough to make me unable to block it!
"Ling'er, go!"
With a flash of sword light, Ling'Er used her most powerful Sword Sweeping Four Directions as soon as she came into contact with him!
At the same time, the opponent used another powerful skill – Spear Flurry!
Like a shockwave, dots of spear light exploded in the surroundings. The two forces clashed, and Ling 'er was still slightly weaker. She was pushed back by the Chaotic Dance of the Spear Light. However, the opponent was not having an easy time either. Ling' er's Sword Slash also swept out in all directions, instantly dealing 20,000 damage to the Earth General.
I quickly rushed to his side and slid to the BOSS's side. I raised my hand and used a [Shield Breaker Slash] + [Ice Wind Pierce] combo. The reason why I used [Ice Wind Pierce] was because this skill could slow down the BOSS's attack speed and movement speed. Against such a powerful Heaven Rank BOSS, I had to suppress his series of advantages. Otherwise, I would definitely be finished!
After two skill attacks, the BOSS's body swayed and a layer of frost formed. At the same time, his health dropped by another 20,000. With 2800 defense, I couldn't kill him like I was cutting melons and vegetables anymore.
The Earth General coldly snorted, and with a backhand, his spear fiercely landed on my shoulder!
“4782！”
I didn't retreat. Instead, I charged forward and swept my sword horizontally. Total Annihilation broke through the air!
“5423！”
“5592！”
“5706！”
“5890！”
With a total attack of over 20,000, I directly recovered 4782 of my lost health!
"Haha, again, again!"
My confidence soared. There was no point in running away. Since I had 24% lifesteal and the sharpness of the Soul Demise Sword, I could only use offense as defense!
Like this, once I stabilized my footing, the situation also stabilized. Although the Earth General was a Heaven Rank BOSS, he couldn't withstand the destruction of the Soul Demise Sword. After a few hits, his HP began to drop rapidly.
I focused my mind and paid close attention to the BOSS's every move. The moment he used a spear skill, I would immediately retreat. Fighting an enemy's fierce skill head-on was a very irrational thing to do!
But at this moment, the BOSS suddenly stopped moving and abruptly thrust his spear into the ground. In the next moment, the spear was pulled out of the ground, and a beam of light illuminated the entire second floor. When the Earth General's spear pierced the ground, it actually brought out a giant gray dragon!
Ding ~!
System Notice: Earth General Wang Jian used the skill "Earth Tremble"!
… …
The ground began to tremble, and many small pebbles flew into the air as if they were not under the control of gravity. Even I felt my body become very light, as if I was about to be sucked into the air. The gray dragon was already high in the sky, and it suddenly raged toward me!
I immediately raised my shield in front of my chest. At the same time, I swung my arm, and [Afterimage Strike] tore through the air, heading straight for the giant dragon!
Puchi!
[Afterimage Strike]'s light disappeared like a clay ox into the sea. Reality proved that the enemy's [Earth Tremble]'s grade far exceeded [Afterimage Strike]'s. It couldn't stop the BOSS's attack at all!
I could only defend!
I gritted my teeth and forcefully endured the giant dragon's attack!
Boom!
My body abruptly shook, as if it was about to be torn apart. That pain was truly heart-wrenching!
When I checked my HP, I was immediately shocked. My original 10720 HP had been reduced to less than 500!
At the same time, I heard Ling'er's cry of shock from behind me. There was no doubt that Ling'er wouldn't be able to escape this attack either. I glanced around and hurriedly retreated to the right. In just three seconds, I had already moved almost 20 yards away. The gray dragon was already letting out a sonorous roar and charging toward me!
Rays of golden light fell from the boss, covering a 50-yard radius around it. Clearly, this was the attack radius of [Earth Tremble]!
When I exited the area covered by the golden light, the giant dragon just happened to reach me. Its tail almost grazed the tip of my nose, causing me to break out in a cold sweat. If I had been one step slower, my 500 HP would have been gone for sure!
"Ling'er, transform into an eagle and fly out of the attack range!"
I shouted. Ling'er reacted quickly and immediately leaped into the air. She transformed into an eagle and flew away. When the giant dragon swept toward her, Ling'er still managed to escape the danger zone!
Just like that, the boss' [Earth Tremble] shocked us to the core. I hurriedly healed myself and Ling'er quickly recovered her HP. However, the boss was still buffing itself with that fierce skill. The golden light didn't fade even after a long time. The giant dragon flew around in the air but couldn't find a target to attack.
About a minute later, the boss finally stopped using the skill. Based on the strength of the skill, it shouldn't be able to use it again within the next hour. Otherwise, it would be a death sentence!
I recovered half of my HP, but I couldn't care less. I let Ling'er tank the boss's attacks while I ambushed it from behind. I used a Shield Breaking Slash. Against a boss with such high Defense, Shield Breaking Slash was the most effective attack!
"Swoosh!"
A golden light appeared and at the same time, the familiar Azure Dragon Energy surged from my body. In the next moment, an Azure Dragon flowed along my longsword. "Puchi!" The Soul Demise Sword stabbed into the Earth General's armor. At the same time, the Azure Dragon Energy suddenly roared and pierced through the boss's body. The Azure Dragon wreaked havoc and the arrogant Earth General suffered heavy damage for the first time!
“47824！”
The power of a critical strike and Azure Dragon Energy was astonishing. In one go, I dealt close to 50000 damage. It was enough to make the boss's body sway a few times before it could recover. I used the power of this attack to recover the HP that I had lost!
The battle started again. The boss waved his spear and suddenly used a skill called [Flurry]. I had long since seen through his attack, so I slid to the side and dodged the attack. Three big "Miss" popped up above my head. The boss must be furious. One of his three skills was dodged just like that. How could he have any face left?
As expected, the boss fell into a berserk state. With a loud roar, he used another powerful skill, [Spear Flurry]!
I hurriedly retreated. This skill's damage was too high. With my defense, I couldn't block it at all. It was better to let Ling 'er take care of it. A Phantom Warrior's Lv 100 defense was already as high as 5840. There was no better way to let Ling' er tank the boss's attack!
After a round of [Spear Flurry], the boss was once again defeated. It only had normal attacks left, so there was nothing to be afraid of. After all, I also had two Heaven-grade items and the Soul Demise Sword. In terms of stats, I didn't lose to the boss at all. On top of that, I also had two top-tier lifesteal equipment. This way, if I didn't use skills, the boss wouldn't be a match for me at all.
Of course, if I combined my skills, I wouldn't be able to block [Spear Flurry] at all, not to mention that crazy [Earthquake] skill!
"Goddamn brat, I will let you taste the taste of death!"
After being caught off guard by me, the boss flew into a rage out of humiliation again. This time, however, I didn't retreat. Brazenly using [Total Annihilation] and [Whirlwind Slash], I actually forced the boss's attack back!
At this time, the boss's HP had been reduced to half. Without another word, I threw a [Crescent Moon Slash]. Immediately, a crescent moon appeared above the boss's head, reducing its attack speed and movement speed by half!
This way, killing it was even easier. The boss's attack speed had been reduced, and when it used [Spear Flurry], I was already thousands of miles away...
In the party channel, Ling Xue asked, "Scholar, your HP is dropping like crazy again. Are you fighting a boss again?"
I gasped for breath. "Yep!
A Level 135 Heaven Rank boss, so troublesome. Luckily I have my Phantom Warrior, or else I would be like you guys, Level 100 … "
Ling Xue smiled. "Don't give me that. Do you dare look down on us Level 100 players?
Hmph hmph, there are three Level 100 players in White Cloud City right now: me, my sister, and Seven-star Lamp. If you look down on us, you look down on us … "
"What about you guys?
How's the situation? "
It was Ling Yue's turn to say, "Our situation is very stable. We've killed almost one-fifth of the southwest area of the Ancient Battlefield, and we even killed two bosses. One was a Level 125 Earth Rank Skeleton General, and the other was a Level 130 Earth Rank boss, a super giant lizard. It took us a long time to kill them!"
I couldn't help but smile. "You guys have Fragrance with you, so it shouldn't be too difficult. Oh right, I'm already at 85% of Level 101. I'll definitely reach Level 102 by tonight."
Ling Yue smiled. "Good. Keep up the good work. Don't let that bastard Seven-star Lamp steal your spot. Also, Blood Drinker the World has become much stronger. He's now in the Top 10 of the Heavenly Ranking, and he's pushed Battle Soul Proud Heaven down. The experts of White Cloud City are just too strong!"
"En, it's actually because the Clear Breeze City is too weak. Do you know why the White Cloud City has more experts?"
Ling Yue's interest was piqued. She asked, "Why?
Don't tell me that White Cloud City is the only city in the entire Spirit of Grief Continent, and that it's superior and distinguished! "
I shook my head and chuckled. "Of course not!
Back when Rank 2 cities started transferring players to White Cloud City, Battle Soul had already taken over as the number one fighting guild in China. Because of that, no one was willing to fight over Battle Soul. After all, even those who weren't afraid of Battle Soul couldn't afford to fight over it. Therefore, a large number of players flooded into White Cloud City. But who would've thought that it would backfire and turn White Cloud City into a battlefield of heroes! "
"Yeah, that does make a bit of sense!"
I swung my sword at the boss and smiled. "Forget it, my boss is almost dead. I don't want to be killed by the boss at the last moment. I don't have the Resurrection Prophecy effect!"
Qin Yun chuckled. "I want to buff your avatar in the party, but the system says that you're too far away …"
"..."
… …
Less than half an hour later, the boss's HP was finally almost gone. Thankfully, he was a boss. Otherwise, my Flick Slash would've killed him a long time ago!
However, at the final moment, the Earth General suddenly jerked his spear and stabbed it into the ground once more!
I was shocked. This starting move was too terrifying. It was that Earth-shaking Mountain skill again!
"Ling'Er, hypnotize him!"
I shouted. At the same time, I dashed forward and landed a Total Annihilation on the boss's shoulder. However, the boss only swayed a bit. Surprisingly, the skill wasn't interrupted!
Ling'Er turned into a demonic fox and screamed!
Whoosh!
A ray of white light landed on the boss's head and the shaking stopped!
Ling'Er had done a good job!
I laughed. "Good job, Ling'Er, kill him!"
After Ling 'er was praised by me, she smiled faintly and immediately transformed into a young girl. With a Four Directional Slash, she landed on the BOSS' chest armor. Under the vibrating sword energy, the BOSS's health suddenly dropped!
Ding ~!
System Notice: Congratulations, you have killed the Heaven Rank Boss, Earth General Wang Jian. You have gained 80,000,000 EXP, 20000 gold, and 40000 Reputation!
… …
"I … can't accept this … Despicable brat, the cavalry of the empire will trample the continent once more!"
Earth General Wang Jian let out a wail. His glorious life was finally over. Of course, he would respawn in a month.
The boss's giant body collapsed to the ground. At the same time, golden light flashed and a pile of gold dropped. There were also a few pieces of equipment mixed in with the gold.
I walked forward and picked up the gold. There were more than thirty thousand in total. The equipment was a spear, a leg guard, and a skill book glowing with green light.
