"Five billion a month? That's way too expensive!"
Lu Chao said through gritted teeth. His partnership with Shengyi Group was only worth one billion, but October Rain was demanding an exorbitant price. Clearly, she couldn't afford it.
So far, the top players in Heavenblessed earned between 100,000-2,000,000 RMB a month by killing bosses, selling equipment, items, participating in tournaments, and so on. These people included Lin Yixin, Li Chengfeng, and Candlelight Shadow. Then came the first-rate players who earned between 20,000-100,000 RMB a month, such as Heaven's Rain, Eyes Like Water, and Blue Sky Scar. Then came the second-rate players who earned between 50,000-20,000 RMB a month, such as Du Thirteen, Zi Chuanyu, and so on. Finally, the average mid-tier players could barely make a living between 500-1000 RMB a month, and they had to earn enough to pay for their electricity bills. Finally, there were the players who were losing money. Whether it was repairing their equipment or buying potions, they had to spend silver.
That was why even though Warsky Alliance's 10k Golden Cavalrymen were all elite mounted players, 50k a month was still a bit too much. In other words, October Rain was taking advantage of the situation to take advantage of Mad Purgatory Dragon. There weren't many guilds that could take advantage of Mad Purgatory Dragon anyway.
… …
"You think it's too expensive?
How much do you think it should be? "October Rain tilted her head and asked.
Lu Chao answered without hesitation, "2E at most. Nothing more!"
"Deal!" October Rain smiled.
Roaming Dragon immediately realized that he had been tricked. October Rain had purposely raised the limit so much that Roaming Dragon's price had gone up by a lot.
Warsky asked, "Little Rain, do you really want to borrow troops?"
"Of course I do!"
October Rain readily lent 10k Golden Cavalrymen to Mad Purgatory Dragon without hesitation. According to our agreement, these people would only stay in Mad Purgatory Dragon to make up the numbers and wait for the Death Mode challenge. They wouldn't be under Mad Purgatory Dragon's command. In fact, once they joined, all of Mad Purgatory Dragon's information and secrets would be exposed.
… …
Wang Dongliang said, "Brother Chao, you're too impulsive! You threw out 2E all of a sudden!"
Lu Chao said, "There's no other way. Little Piglet has gone crazy, and we have to suppress him. Otherwise, if Mad Purgatory Dragon disbands, we won't be able to maintain our Ranking and fall out of the Top 10! That's a price we can't afford!"
"What should we do next?" Wang Dongliang asked.
Lu Chao sneered. "Let's continue. We can borrow ten thousand Lantern Maiden tamers from Candlelight Shadow, and maybe ten thousand Holy Demon Heart mages from Ancient Sword Dreaming Souls as well. We can hold out for a month, and I'll discuss this with my father. We'll continue to invest in Mad Purgatory Dragon as a gold brand. Also, there are a lot of new maps in Russia's Cold Sword City and Iron Horse City, so I'm sure they'll drop high rank mounts. Let's go to Russia and hunt for high rank mounts and create our own specialty troops. I'm going to make Mad Purgatory Dragon a solid foothold in one month, no matter how much we invest!"
Wang Dongliang nodded. "Well, I'm relieved to hear that …"
…
I tilted my head and looked at Wang Dongliang and Lu Chao at the bottom of the hill. I sneered but didn't say anything. Ancient Sword Dreaming Souls wouldn't lend them their troops...
At this moment, a bell suddenly rang in the air.
Ding ~!

"Fuck!"
I couldn't help but curse under my breath. When I checked the stats of the necklace, I was stunned.

… …
He Yi, Gui Guzi, Li Chengfeng, Chaos Moon and everyone else were stunned when they saw it.
"Damn!"
Gui Guzi clenched his fists and said, "The Heaven Suppressing Chain has 100% lifesteal? This Demon Weapon is too OP, isn't it?"
Li Chengfeng looked astonished. "I'm guessing that the price is OP as well …"
I said, "Purple Lily doesn't have any super strong mounted players, or Luo River God of the Capital wouldn't have sold it."
He Yi pursed her lips and said, "Lu Chen, come with me to Wind City later."
"What are you going to do, Eve?"
He Yi clenched her fists. "I'm going to get this Heaven Suppressing Chain. Hmph, I'm definitely going to get it. If someone else gets their hands on 100% lifesteal, there's no way they'll be able to kill them. They're too scary!"
I licked my lips and said warily, "This necklace is one of the Seventy-two Demon Weapons, so I'm going to sell it at a conservative price of 100 RMB. It's too expensive, and it's not that OP. If a player were to challenge Gui Guzi's Dragonlight Cavalry while wearing the Heaven Suppressing Chain, no one would be able to hurt them. Even 100% lifesteal would be useless against a barrage of Holy Mages. Eve, we're different from the Mad Purgatory Dragon. We rely on our own abilities to obtain high-grade equipment, not RMB …"
He Yi giggled. "Alright, but let's go and watch the show. The Seventy-two Demon Weapons are being auctioned, and it's even more popular than the Dragonbone Whip. We can't miss it."
"Mn!"
It was true that the Heaven Suppressing Chain was good, but my Ancient Divine Equipment necklace, Forgiveness of the Gods, wasn't inferior to the Heaven Suppressing Chain in the slightest. Not only that, it had the Forgiveness of the Gods, which gave it a 30% chance to dodge all magic attacks. This stat was in no way inferior to the 100% lifesteal effect of the Heaven Suppressing Chain. Of course, the real reason was that the price of the Heaven Suppressing Chain would skyrocket, and we didn't have enough spare cash to buy it. In that case, we could only say that the Heaven Suppressing Chain was sour grapes.
… …
I used a Heaven Suppressing Chain to disperse the battle aura from the Outer Realms. I took out a return scroll and teleported back to Wind City. Lin Yixin and Nangong Lexi had arrived as well, so I spent 70 gold to book a cramped and leaky F-rank VIP room. Mn, SSS-rank VIP rooms were top-tier, and F-rank rooms were bottom-tier. Everyone had their own goals...
Lin Yixin swept away the spiderwebs on the windowsill and leaned against the window. She said with a smile, "The Heaven Suppressing Chain has 100% lifesteal. Sister Eve and Little Cheat, have you thought of buying it?"
I shook my head. "No, I can't afford it!"
Lin Yixin giggled. "Mn, I can't afford it either, but I'll consider it if it's less than 10 million …"
He Yi rolled her eyes. "Don't even think about 10 million, Yiyi. That's impossible …"
"I know …"
… …
While we waited, familiar figures appeared in the auction house one after another. Warsky, Stranger of Three Lifetimes, Candlelight Shadow, Wang Dongliang and more showed up.
I hugged my sword and sat on the windowsill, looking at the grand scene outside. The huge auction house was packed with people, and the densely packed players made me speechless.
Lin Yixin leaned against my leg and said, "Lu Chen, you have the Unfettered Chain. Have you ever thought about …"
I shivered. "No!"
"Liar!"
"Fine, if it's in the enemy's hands, I'll consider it …"
"Mn mn. Contact the intelligence team, and we'll head over immediately once we have the coordinates. Use God Binding Art, Xuanyuan Slash, Unfettered Chain, and Unfettered Chain. Heehee, it'll be great if we get the Heaven Suppressing Chain …"
I snorted. "In your dreams …"
… …
Time flew by, and three hours passed in the blink of an eye. A beautiful host walked up to the stage and smiled at the sea of people below. "The theme of today's auction is the Heaven Suppressing Chain, so I won't beat around the bush. Since everyone is here, let us begin the auction. Players who are interested in buying it, please prepare the money in your bank account. Don't overdraft it, or you won't be able to bid."
The beautiful host waved her hand, and the powerful stats of the Heaven Suppressing Chain appeared in front of everyone once more. Although its Attack and Defense were terrible, the 100% lifesteal made up for it. It was a godlike stat...
"The Heaven Suppressing Chain is here. Players, please bid!" The host said in a sweet voice.
A brawny man below the stage rose to his feet and raised his hand. "10 million gold!"
It was the leader of the God Destruction Alliance, Dominating Heaven Blade. He was obviously going all out!
"OMG!"
Lin Yixin stomped her foot in anger. "That uncle Dominating Heaven Blade is so hateful. He didn't even give me a chance to bid …"
I spread my hands and smiled. "Don't worry, you weren't planning to buy it anyway …"
In the end, the beautiful guild leader standing by the window raised her arm and said in a sweet voice, "20 million!"
Everyone immediately shuddered. No one had expected the Seventy-two Ghost Armament necklace to go this far, and the price was so high that it cut into the flesh right from the start.
… …
“3000W！”
Someone from an SSS-rank box above us made a bid. The bidder's ID appeared on the big screen. As expected, Roaming Dragon made a bid.
Then, someone from another box also made a bid. "70 million!"
The bidder, Warsky, couldn't hold back any longer.
The battle for the Seventy-two Ghost Armaments was in full swing.
I hurriedly jumped off the windowsill and covered her mouth with my hand. "Ahem, Eve, stop fighting. It's meaningless. Let them fight amongst themselves. We'll just sit back and watch the tigers fight amongst themselves." "That's right.
Hugged in my arms, He Yi nodded her head and didn't continue bidding.
… …
On the stage, Candlelight Shadow's voice rang. "90 million!"
Candlelight Shadow's voice didn't affect the bidding at all. Warsky continued, "100 million!"
Finally, Roaming Dragon exploded. He raised his spear and abruptly leaped out of the SSS room. He abruptly landed on the stage and extended two fingers. "Two hundred million!"
Candlelight Shadow was silent for a few seconds. Then, he let out a self-deprecating laugh and said nothing.
Warsky also fell silent. In the end, he chose to remain silent.
… …
"Bang!"
The beautiful host announced sweetly, "The Heaven Suppressing Chain has been sold to player Roaming Dragon for the price of 200 million gold. Congratulations!"
