I looked up and saw October Rain's beautiful face.
I pressed a hand to the ground and said in a low voice, "I will repay you for saving my life in the future!"
October Rain giggled. "Then marry me!"
"I'm not free!"
After that, I left behind a trail of dust and charged toward Thunder once more. At the same time, Moon Dew and a couple of priests healed me and healed me back to full HP. Thunder had lost 700k + HP to me, but I didn't care about that.
… …
Amidst the corpse-filled battlefield, Thunder was like a proud king. He raised his sword and slashed left and right, striking He Yi and her dragon three times in a row. Fortunately, the beautiful boss had activated Cave Ice Shield, so she wasn't instantly killed. Even so, she had still lost over 1.8 million HP. If she didn't have this new shield, He Yi would've been killed in that instant.
Swhoosh!
My blade burned with electricity as it slashed through the air. High Fighting Spirits, Li Chengfeng and the Dragonlight Cavalrymen were all caught in its path. Li Chengfeng reacted the fastest and raised his Scarlet Refined Sword to parry the attack. He wanted to mitigate as much damage as he could, but at the very least he wouldn't be one-shot. High Fighting Spirits was a bit slower, so he had no choice but to use the handle of his Bone Slasher to block the attack.
"Crack … Crack …"
Li Chengfeng lost 40% of his HP and High Fighting Spirits lost 64%. Both of them were knocked back and rolled on the ground in a pathetic fashion, but the other seven Dragonlight Cavalrymen were one-shot and returned to Sky City to respawn. Thunder's Attack had grown even higher after his HP had been reduced, and even our Dragonlight Cavalrymen couldn't withstand his attacks.
The moment my Ghostspirit War Boots brushed past the boss, I spun around and followed up with a Burning Blade Slash + Thousand Ice Slash combo. I hoped that Thousand Ice Slash would be enough to freeze the boss in place, but I had miscalculated. A huge "MISS" appeared above my head. I gritted my teeth and used Frozen Nine States again!
Swhoosh!
A layer of ice formed beneath Thunder's feet. He was frozen for 2.7 seconds. Damn, as expected of one of the Twelve Divine Weapons. The success rate was much higher than that of a silk weapon …
However, being frozen did not mean that he was completely sealed in ice. The Nine Sovereign King's resistance was extraordinary. Even though he was under the effects of the Nine Continent's Ice, he still raised his palm. Lightning crackled between his fingers as he stared at me with a vicious gaze. Thunder cackled and said, "Die, kid. I know that you are very important to the Wind Singer. Killing you might make the Wind Singer realize that she shouldn't have been enemies with the Purgatory from the start. We will definitely kill her. You can go to hell and wait for her!"
Thunder Abyss had arrived!
I knew that I couldn't dodge it. Thunder had locked onto me to unleash his skill. There was no way he would let me miss.
"Pa pa pa!"
As I retreated, I waved my hand and summoned my Battle Qi Astral Wind. The reason I hadn't summoned it earlier was because I wanted to deal with this Thunder Abyss. I took a dozen or so steps back to make sure there were no Ancient Sword Dreaming Souls players around me. Then, I raised my sword and shouted, entering Milky Way Transformation. Come!
Boom!
The Lightning Abyss descended upon me and I felt a burning pain all over my body. I also felt a numbing sensation from the lightning attack. My Dou Qi Astral Wind was broken and at the same time, a pair of bloody wings spread open behind my back, allowing me to stand in the air above the abyss. I exerted strength and my Dou Qi Astral Wind blocked most of the damage. Otherwise, the Lightning Abyss would have dealt over 2 million damage to me. My meager Magic Resist was like child's play in front of a boss.
Swhoosh!
Cold of the Nine Continents appeared in front of the boss with the power of Pardon. The moment a MISS appeared, I abruptly circled behind Thunder. Cold of the Nine Continents trembled as an Eight Trigrams formation appeared beneath my feet. Then, I used Universe Break and pierced through the boss' chest armor!
“890287！”
Pardon followed by Universe Break. This time, it hurt enough!
I kept retreating as Thunder chased after me furiously. I smiled and threw my longsword into the air. Swhoosh! The Coiling Dragon Revolution dealt another 470k damage to the boss. Just as the sword pierced through his chest, Thunder suddenly disappeared from where he stood. Here it comes again! This unfathomable movement speed!
My Spiritual Perception increased by a lot under the effect of Milky Way Transformation, and I could also control my Domain. I instantly sensed danger approaching from behind me. Without thinking, I turned around and raised the Azure Dragon Shield. Then, I activated Ghostly Steps and dodged every attack I could!
Swoosh!
The Blade of Thunder was like a lethal weapon. It glowed with lightning, and the Triple Thunder Combo was coming. No, that's not right, it was Quadruple Thunder Combo! This bastard had an extra attack!
Clang, clang, clang...
The crushing attacks came one after another. My left arm felt like it was about to shatter, and my entire body left a deep trench in the ground. My shield was about to shatter, and four damage numbers flew up above my head.
“1102834！”
“1072362！”
“1027377！”
“2103284！”
… …
The last attack was a critical one. Fortunately, my Dragon Suppressing Armor absorbed 10% of the damage and converted it into HP. In total, I recovered almost 500k HP. Murong Mingyue used a critical heal on me from afar and healed me for another 380k HP. I still had a little bit of HP left.
My Azure Dragon Shield had been scorched red by the lightning, and even my shoulder armor was smoking. I glanced at my HP and saw that I only had 822 left. I grimaced. As expected, no matter how good a player's equipment, mechanics, or skills were, there was no way they could fight a top-tier boss head-on. We were like ants. We needed everyone's strength to have a chance of defeating a boss like Thunder.
That being said, the fact that I could stall the boss for a dozen or so seconds was more than enough...
"Lu Chen, watch out!"
Lin Yixin appeared in the distance and shouted at me in panic. She was holding the Purple Spirit Sword.
There was a huge ball of lightning above my head!
Fuck, it's Abyss Thunder!
Goddammit, Thunder is trying to kill me! Even if Gui Guzi and He Yi were busy dealing damage to the boss, Thunder would only feel at ease after I was dead. This bastard is so wicked!!
Boom!
The moment I closed my eyes, Abyss Thunder descended upon me. There was no way my 822 HP was going to survive its attack.
When I opened my eyes again, I discovered that I was still at the foot of Crossroads Valley. What … what the hell is going on?
I checked the battle log again and was overjoyed. It was Purgatory God's Pardon! The necklace's 30% chance to dodge magic attacks had just barely saved me!
Swhoosh!
At the distance, Lian Xin was almost at melee range. Her Absolute Freeze froze the boss and bought me a few seconds of time!
I jumped out of the pit. I was nearly buried, so I used Tenacity of the Dead and a Rank 13 health potion to recover my health. Then, I sprinted along the edge of the fortress while a bunch of priests healed me. Even Moon Dew was shouting, "Don't let our handsome guild leader die! Heal him!"
It didn't take long for my HP to recover to over 80%. With Murong Mingyue's healing, I entered combat mode again. Go!
… …
Chiang!
Thunder's Blade of Thunder abruptly clashed with Lin Yixin's dagger. Then, he kicked Lin Yixin in the shoulder and sent her flying. She let out a whimper and rolled on the grass. She had less than 20% HP left, and she was almost killed.
I sprinted toward Lin Yixin and activated Coldness of the Nine States. Then, I activated Xuanyuan Slash, an SSS Rank Ancient Divine Skill, and clashed head-on with Thunder's Quadruple Thunderous Combo!
"Bang!"
Since [Xuanyuan Slash] was a ranged attack, he was the first to reach his target and interrupt Thunder's attack. His entire body shook as he endured a huge amount of damage. He swung his sword and sent me flying with a bang. Fuck, I didn't even know how much weaker I was in terms of Strength. According to the rules of the game, the knockback effect would only appear if the opponent's Strength was at least 50% higher than the opponent's. But I wasn't just knocked back, I was sent flying...
… …
Thud thud thud thud...
The dense rain of arrows turned Thunder's back into a porcupine. He immediately turned around angrily and unleashed Abyssal Lightning, killing dozens of Dragonlight Archers. Then, he galloped away and killed dozens more Dragonlight Cavalry. Not even 7 seconds later, Abyssal Lightning activated again and attacked Snowy Cathaya's Dragonlight Archers. Maybe it was because the Dragonlight Archers were in too much pain, but it attracted Thunder's attention.
The battle was incredibly fierce, and it was a life-and-death battle. There weren't many of us who could block a single hit from the boss. Only a couple of Dragonlight Knights could. The rest of the mounted players, including High Fighting Spirits, didn't dare to attack again. Once Thunder used his Quadruple Thunderous Combo, it seemed like only I, He Yi, and Gui Guzi could block it. Even then, it was very dangerous. We could be one-shot at any moment.
… …
After nearly 20 minutes of intense fighting, I had to use my life to pin down the boss several times. Thunder's HP had finally dropped to 50%, but this also meant that the boss was about to enter a new phase.
Hum!
Thunder abruptly raised his Blade of Thunder and snarled, "You damned humans, you have completely angered me. Come, let me send you to hell. I will enslave you all!"
The ground within a radius of several hundred meters abruptly collapsed as countless lightning storms wreaked havoc. It was a large-scale AoE skill!
I hurriedly steadied myself and shouted, "Those with Invincibility, use it and heal yourselves!"
… …
As I spoke, I also activated Dark Shield, the Dark Lava Leg Guards, and became invincible for 30 seconds. At the same time, countless players in the collapsing city were turned to dust. The Dragonlight Cavalry panicked as their HP dropped rapidly. Since the skill was indiscriminate, some people were lucky enough to avoid being hit, while others were hit multiple times in a row.
Halfway through the AoE skill, I swung my sword and activated the Xuanyuan Art, increasing my HP by 50%. I barely managed to keep a lot of the Dragonlight Cavalrymen alive, and Gui Guzi followed suit with Shennong Tasting Grass a few seconds later!
The storm died down 15 seconds later, but the eastern fortress was nothing more than a pile of rubble. Thousands of Dragonlight Cavalrymen stood blankly among the rubble. Almost all of our mages, archers and priests had been killed, and only ranged players with invulnerability skills like Beiming Xue, Lian Xin and Moonlight Stone were still alive.
… …
"Fuck, this Thunder really is a catastrophe …" Warsky sighed.
