A cloud of dust rose from the flanks as a group of Northern Alliance riders charged toward us. A quick glance told me that they were all very high-leveled, and their leader was a Heroic Bannerman named Eye of the Storm. Overjoyed, I said to Li Chengfeng, Chaos Moon, He Yi and the rest, "Eye of the Storm can't stand us anymore. Let's set up a trap and kill this Heroic Bannerman first. We'll take down Hot Sand City's morale once and for all!"
"Got it!"
Li Chengfeng happily agreed. "Lu Chen, block the right flank, and I'll take the left flank. Boss, Chaos Moon, High Fighting Spirits, Little Gui, you guys attack from the front. Let's try to kill Eye of the Storm in one go!"
Eighteen Steeds of You and Yun was speechless. "What a beast! We're going to kill Eye of the Storm with so many people!"
… …
"Turn around! Attack!"
A dozen or so top-tier players turned around and galloped toward Eye of the Storm. The rest of the Dragonlight Cavalrymen followed suit. The formation couldn't be messed up, or the riders would be split up and killed one by one. The power of a cavalry Charge lay in a group charge. If they were split up, they would lose their power.
Eye of the Storm wore an angry expression as he lowered his sword. Beside him was another Heroic Bannerman, and he was also a magic knight. The two of them charged toward me in a straight line.
Li Chengfeng couldn't help but laugh. "Alright, the CGL Hall of Famer above Lu Chen's head is way too eye-catching. Everyone's already treating you as their target. Hehe, I'm sure they're thinking that two Heroic Bannermen versus one CGL Hall of Famer is a sure-fire win!"
Chaos Moon giggled. "Alright, let's show these people the power of a passerby!"
I nodded seriously. "Heh, I won't do anything. I'll leave them to you guys!"
"You're not going to do anything?" Li Chengfeng looked at me in surprise.
I nodded and smiled. "That's right. I'll be the bait today. Everyone, get ready for the ambush. I'm going out now …"
"Oh?"
I abruptly sped up under everyone's gazes. My speed was far faster than the Dragonlight Cavalry, and the Armored Ice Qilin Horse was an Earth Rank boss mount. It was an entire level higher than the Dragonlight Armored Horse, so I charged forward like a bolt of lightning. The moment I got close, the knight beside Eye of the Storm immediately stabbed him with his spear!
"Pu!"
A sharp beam of light that was almost ten meters long shot toward me, but I had already predicted it. I pulled on the reins and the Armored Ice Qilin Horse slid to the side, barely dodging the attack.
Eye of the Storm growled, "You're courting death!"
The warhorse neighed as Eye of the Storm closed in. It was extremely fast, and its blade suddenly pierced through. The Knight's Triple Slash and a normal attack came from four different angles!
The corner of my lips curled up into a smile as I moved my Cyan Netherworld Sword to the left and right. "Clang! Clang!" I parried the two slashes. Then, I raised my right arm and took the brunt of the attack. The third strike of the Triple Slash hit my Crimson Rock Dragon Armor. This time, I couldn't dodge it no matter what. The attack speed was just too fast, and it was extremely difficult to parry.
“17663！”
Eye of the Storm couldn't help but be surprised by the damage number that rose above his head. It wasn't even 20% of my total HP, but I didn't give him a chance to react. I spurred my mount past him and slammed Burning Blade Slash into a group of players behind him. A bunch of them screamed in pain and died in an instant.
Li Chengfeng and Chaos Moon covered me from behind, and I used Rock Crush + Barrier Break, Dragonbone Flurry + Cyan Dragon Horn Slash. The magic knight's HP dropped to zero, and he tried to retreat with a deathly pale face. However, Gui Guzi caught up to him and used Aurora Flurry from afar. The rest of the players looked at him with a normal expression: Bang!
Pu pu pu...
Gui Guzi's spear energy traveled about 17 yards away from the magic knight's back. It was common knowledge that the flames of an alcohol lamp were hotter on the outside than they were on the inside, and Gui Guzi's attacks were the same. His spear energy was the strongest when it was at a distance!
"Ah …"
The magic knight let out a scream of pain and collapsed to the ground.
Ding ~!
System Announcement: All players, please be informed that the Heroic Bannerman "Celestial" (Vietnam) has been killed by player "Gui Guzi" (China)!
… …
Very good, it was a one-hit kill. Not even a Heroic Bannerman could withstand the combined assault of our guild!
Eye of the Storm's face turned as white as a sheet. He hadn't expected so many powerful and skilled players to be present. At first, he thought that these magic knights were just a bunch of good mounts and equipment, but he didn't expect that every single one of them was a first-rate Heroic Bannerman!
Swhoosh!
Before He Yi's Blade of the Earthen Soul could hit him, Eye of the Storm activated his invincibility skill and retreated. At the same time, he shouted, "Just you wait, the Tempest Guild won't let you get away with this!"
"Pooh!"
Li Chengfeng spat on the ground as he stared at Eye of the Storm's back. "Experts?"
… …
Three whole hours passed by in the blink of an eye, and by the time everyone was exhausted, the number of enemies who had died to our swords was too many to count. Just the Nation War points ranking alone showed that 37 of the Top 100 players in China were Dragonlight Cavalry. It was a miracle!
Clatter clatter clatter...
Our horses galloped across the green grass as we returned to our camp. He Yi was beside me, and her snow-white cape was dyed red. My Soul Suppressing Cloak was in an even worse state. My tattered cape was soaked in blood, and there were even drops of blood dripping down my back.
Thud...
Blood dripped onto the grass and blossomed into a beautiful red flower.
I jumped off my horse and stabbed the Cyan Netherworld Sword into the ground. Then, I sat down next to a pine tree and closed my eyes. This is too tiring!
He Yi sat down next to me and smiled. "You must be tired, Lu Chen?"
"Mn."
"I'm tired too, but it looks like we won't be able to rest at all."
"Yeah …"
I opened my eyes and looked at He Yi beside me. There was a tired look on her beautiful face as she took off her helmet and let her hair cascade down her shoulders like water. I gave her a smile and put an arm around her shoulder. "Sister Yi, you've worked hard for the past few days, but if you can keep this up for a while, you'll definitely become one of the top experts of the China server!"
He Yi nodded with a smile. "Mn, I know. I was too careless in the past, but now …"
"Now what?"
"It's different now, hehe …" He Yi replied noncommittally. She leaned against my chest and said, "Lu Chen, your Nation War points have risen to second place. You're less than 3% away from Luo River God of the Capital."
"Yeah. Sister Wang Luo is a mage, so her attack power is incomparable. My AoE skills have cooldowns, but she can AoE every time she attacks …"
"Yeah, this is unfair …"
… …
It was at this moment a group of people walked over to us. They were Xu Yang, Stranger of Three Lifetimes, Chaos Moon and more.
Xu Yang sat down on the ground when he arrived in front of us. He said, "Boss, Lu Chen, the casualty count for the past five hours is out!"
"Tell me about it …" I mentally prepared myself.
Xu Yang nodded and said, "We still have 1,755 Dragonlight Cavalrymen left. They are our most well-preserved unit and also the unit that has killed the most enemies. The Cyan Tiger Cavalry is second only to the Dragonlight Cavalrymen. Including the Dragonlight Cavalrymen and Cyan Tiger Cavalry, we have lost 13982 players in total. The subguilds have suffered even greater losses. Almost all of the magic knights in the first to third subguilds have died. The Northern Alliance's firepower is too fierce, and 87% of Bloody Mercenaries' frontline troops have died. Right now, we only have a little over a thousand people left. Based on a rough estimate, we only have around 110k people left, and that's not a lot of people …"
Based on a rough estimate, we can only mobilize about 110,000 people. That's really not a lot … "Stranger of Three Lifetimes walked up to me and said," Blazing Hot Lips has lost another 2000 or so players. Right now, we only have around 7000 players left.
How terrible … "He Yi's eyes were as clear as water. She said softly," It's too much of a stretch to think that we can fight against an army of several million with only 110,000 players. The terrain here is too open, and we've lost too many of our mounted players. If we continue to fight like this, we'll definitely be wiped out. "
Xu Yang said, "But what else can we do if we don't continue fighting like this?"
I didn't say anything. Instead, I opened the map and looked at it. Behind us was a dense forest, and to the southwest was a deep valley called Horse Hoof Valley. As the name implied, it was shaped like a horse's hoof. It wasn't too big, but it was very quiet and quiet. I guessed that very few players went there to hunt. The entrance to Horse Hoof Valley was extremely narrow, but the interior was wide. However, it wasn't suitable for cavalry charges.
I asked, "Right now, what is Eye of the Storm's strongest army?"
Xu Yang answered without hesitation, "Cavalry. Just an hour ago, Eye of the Storm claimed that he had one million cavalrymen from Hot Sand City under his command. He said that he could flatten Ancient Sword Dreaming Souls."
"Very good!"
My eyes turned cold. "If that's the case, then let's annihilate these one million cavalrymen and make Eye of the Storm cry all the way back to Hot Sand City. Dammit, listen to my command! Ancient Sword Dreaming Souls, start a stealthy retreat! Mages, archers, bards, tacticians and more, retreat into Horse Hoof Valley and set up an ambush in the forest surrounding the valley. Everyone else, enter Horse Hoof Valley and leave the Dragonlight Cavalry behind!"
Xu Yang was caught off guard. "What are you doing?"
I smiled. "Since Eye of the Storm wants to annihilate our Dragonlight Cavalry so badly, then we'll use them as bait and lure them into Horse Hoof Valley. Then, we'll coordinate with our mages and archers to seal off Horse Hoof Valley and annihilate them all!"
Stranger of Three Lifetimes' eyes lit up. "That's a good idea! The terrain of the valley isn't conducive for cavalry charges, so we can let them trample each other inside the valley. Then, we can fire ten thousand arrows from both sides at the same time!"
I nodded and rose to my feet. "Pass down my order. Let's move out immediately. This is a crucial battle for us, and we must annihilate these Vietnamese players of Hot Sand City. Only then will we have time to rest and reinforce Dawn City."
"Got it!"
Xu Yang nodded and negotiated with Li Chengfeng. Then, he immediately passed down the order. The rear of the formation swiftly retreated and entered the valley without anyone noticing. They left twenty thousand cavalrymen behind to hold off the enemy for a while.
… …
I leaped onto my horse and pulled out the Cyan Netherworld Sword from my back. Then, I said with a smile, "Dragonlight Cavalry, it's up to you to defend our territory. Charge! For duty and glory!"
