Pop. Everyone else, look at it normally:!
When the 27th Dark Prisoner was killed, it finally dropped a special item. It was a black helmet that looked murderous. Clearly, it was pretty good. When I picked it up and saw its stats, I couldn't stop smiling. This was exactly what I had been waiting for!
[Dark Prison Helmet] (Earth-grade, Outstanding ★ ★)
Defense: 1024 Defense: 950 Strength: + 185 Stamina: + 160 Passive: Increases user's Defense by 30%. Outstanding Property: Grasp of Darkness. Attacks deal 10% additional darkness damage. Property: Dark Prison Set?
Helmet Requirement: 155...
"OMG, an Earth-grade set …" Lin Yixin's mouth fell open in astonishment. "This is the first time I've seen an Earth-grade set!"
I nodded and said, "Also, the drop rate isn't that high. We killed almost 30 Dark Prisoners before we got our first piece of Dark Prison equipment, and that's because we had around 50 points of Luck. If it were a normal player, the drop rate would be 5 times lower. I'm afraid that even 150 Dark Prisoners wouldn't drop a single piece of the Dark Prison equipment set …"
Lin Yixin nodded with a smile. "Mn. In other words, the Dark Prison set is the most attractive piece of equipment in this Soul Suppressing Tower map, aside from the bosses. At this stage of the game, anyone who can gather a full set of this set will probably have stats on par with you, Little Cheat."
I smiled. "Don't mention it. I still have Spirit-grade equipment on me. If it wasn't for the special skills, I would've changed it a long time ago. Once the Dark Prison set is complete, its stats will be at least 10% to 25% higher than mine. Of course, that's assuming that I don't get anything from Nine Tigers Soul Suppressing Tower, but that's unlikely …"
Lin Yixin giggled and hit me with her fist. "You sure are confident. Everyone else, look at it normally:!"
I grabbed Lin Yixin's hand and shoved the helmet into her hands. "Come on, if you can gather this set, I'll give you the first one. This helmet is much better than the Spirit-grade equipment you're wearing right now."
"Mn mn!"
Lin Yixin obediently accepted the helmet and canceled its effect. Her hair was still as smooth as ever. When a girl played a game, the first thing they pursued was beauty.
…
As we continued to grind mobs, the two of us grew more and more in sync with each other. Our basic attacks and skills had a 30% chance of triggering Dual Flight, and every time we triggered it, our damage would at least double. This meant that our leveling efficiency had increased by 30%.
At this moment, everyone's voices rang out in the guild channel. "The boss is dead!"
Li Chengfeng said coldly, "Fuck, I was too busy dealing with Vienna's Sorrow and that archer, Frosty Night. Who took the reward after the boss died?"
Panting heavily, He Yi said, "Silver Soul and Hall of Immortality deliberately tried to stop me. I wasn't able to stop Candlelight Shadow, and Candlelight Shadow seemed to have beaten Chaos Moon back …"
Chaos Moon: "How annoying! I only got a 5-star Outstanding Earth-grade scepter from the boss! Candlelight Shadow stole the rest!"
"Where's the Tiger Soul Essence?" I asked loudly.
Chaos Moon: "I don't know …"
He Yi asked, "Lu Chen, how are you doing? Are you on the seventh floor?"
"Mn, it's pretty good. I'm with Yiyi, so killing mobs isn't a problem. Who took the Tiger Soul Essence? Eve?
We need to figure this out. The quest can only be completed with the Tiger Soul Essence … "
He Yi was speechless. "It was too chaotic just now. Ancient Sword Dreaming Souls, Candle Dragon, Hero Alliance, Silver Soul, Hall of Immortality, Blazing Hot Lips, and all kinds of other guilds participated in the boss fight. In the end, it was a complete mess, and no one even knew who killed the boss …"
Xu Yang said hatefully, "Fuck, that shameless bastard Candlelight Shadow probably took it. Hmph, he threw Vienna's Sorrow to Li Chengfeng and came to steal the boss himself. How shameless …"
It was at this moment a weak voice entered our ears. "Er … the guild leader of the Eighth Guild, Sister Naughty, told me that the Heaven-opening Tiger's Soul Essence is with her. Guild leader Eve, Naughty is going to trade it to you right now. You can pass it to vice leader Lu Chen later. Everyone else, read it as normal."
He Yi exclaimed in pleasant surprise, "Really?"
"Mn!
Sister Naughty said that Lu Chen has the best chance of collecting all nine Tiger Soul Essences, so she gave it to him unconditionally … "
"Great, that's great …" He Yi's smile grew even sweeter.
I said, "Hurry up and get to the fifth floor. We can't fall behind. Lin Yixin and I are going to clear the seventh and eighth floors first. I have a piece of good news for everyone. The mobs on the seventh, eighth, and ninth floors can drop 2-star Outstanding Earth-grade metal armor sets. If you can collect all of them, you'll be a force to be reckoned with!"
Li Chengfeng laughed. "I know. It's the Dark Prison set, right?"
"Eh? How did you know?"
"Haha, I just checked the Hero City forums. An internal member of Eternal Moon Corporation has already leaked the news. The real battle for Nine Tigers Soul Suppressing Tower only begins on the seventh floor!
Lu Chen, you and Beauty Lin need to grasp this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It'd be best if you can kill the boss on the seventh floor as well. Hehe, we'll be joining you in a feast soon! "" That's right, Lu Chen!
"Mn. Hurry up and kill the bosses on the fifth and sixth floors!"
"Got it!"
Currently, I had the Tiger Soul Essences on the first and second floors, Vienna's Sorrow had taken the third floor, and we had the fourth floor. In reality, Ancient Sword Dreaming Souls had the absolute advantage. Now that Lin Yixin and I were two Divine Generals, we could pretty much rule the seventh floor again. Killing the boss and getting the Tiger Soul Essence wasn't just a dream anymore!
… …
Almost half an hour later, we still hadn't gotten a second Dark Prison equipment. It was obvious just how low the drop rate was. That being said, the experience we got from the Dark Prisoners was pretty good as well. The best we could get was Spirit-grade equipment, and Spirit-grade equipment was the mainstream right now. If we set up a stall, it was possible to sell a top-tier Spirit-grade item for hundreds of thousands!
For example, a few days ago, Beiming Xue had gotten a Spirit-grade axe that sold for an astronomical price of 240k because it had a 7% lifesteal effect. Clearly, it was well worth the money. Having lifesteal meant that you had the ability to AoE mobs. I had personally experienced this before.
"Crack!"
Another dread-rank mob fell to the ground with a thud, but Lin Yixin's eyes immediately lit up. She picked up a pair of black war boots that the mob dropped and said with a smile, "Prison War Boots, hehe, I'm rich …"
"Hurry up and put them on. Let's see the set's stats."
"Mn."
A flash of light later, black armor patterns wrapped around the little beauty's legs. The black war boots made her look even more dainty.
After obtaining two Earth-grade equipment sets, Lin Yixin was overjoyed. She looked at the equipment's attributes in high spirits and said with a smile, "This is great! These two Dark Prison equipment sets increase my Attack by 35%, Defense by 40%, and Darkness Attack by 10% …"
"Mn."
I nodded. Every time Lin Yixin killed a mob, she would deal double damage. A red damage number would be followed by a black damage number, and the black damage number would be 30% of the red damage number. This was the power of a 30% dark attack. It was absolutely dominating!
… …
While we were grinding away at the mobs, we suddenly heard a tiger's roar coming from the corner of the corridor. Both Lin Yixin and I were shocked. Did someone aggro the boss?
It had to be. Lin Yixin and I weren't the only ones who had been teleported to the seventh floor. There were way too many people at the time, and the Heaven-opening Tiger was teleporting people everywhere. There was no way we were the only ones.
"Come on, let's go take a look!" I said with a smile.
"Mn."
Lin Yixin followed me cautiously like a beautiful thief, but she was wearing heavy armor and wielding a longsword. Clearly, she was a barbaric thief who would use force if she couldn't steal something. There was no way we could afford to hurt a girl like her.
… …
I peeked around the corner. As expected, a ferocious tiger covered in green flames was roaring in the hall and waving its claws as it chased after a few pitiful players.
"You're from the Northern Alliance, Little Cheat!" Lin Yixin said as she poked her head out of the window and grabbed my arm.
"Yeah, it's Hero Alliance, Vienna's Sorrow!"
"Let's go and kill them!"
"No need, the boss will kill them first. We'll go after they're all dead!"
"Mn."
… …
I activated Dark Pupils and watched as a dozen or so Hero Alliance players were being slaughtered by the Level 191 Immortal Rank boss, the Heaven-shaking Tiger.
"Roar!"
The Heaven-shaking Tiger raised its claws and stunned seven or eight players in front of it in an instant. Lin Yixin and I couldn't believe our eyes. Holy shit, it's so strong!
As the Bloodthirsty Beast Cavalrymen swung their claws, several mounted players collapsed to the ground. Even the Bloodthirsty Beast Cavalrymen could not withstand such a torment.
The dozen or so Hero Alliance players fell to the ground with a series of screams. None of them were spared.
… …
Lin Yixin pursed her lips and chuckled. "I can't believe trash like this is trying to kill an Immortal Rank boss. They overestimate themselves. Little Cheat, let's go. It's our turn."
"Wait!"
I put an arm around her shoulder and said, "There are still two assassins lurking there. They look like they're waiting for reinforcements. We need to take them out first before we can focus on the boss!"
"Why can't I see them?"
"I have a vision skill."
"Oh …"
"Yiyi, I'll kill one of them and leave the other one to you. There's one at coordinates (0983,0087). Let's go!"
"Okay!"
The Armored Ice Qilin Horse let out a long neigh as I activated Dragon Slaying Slash and Sword Boomerang. The assassin on the right let out a scream of pain before he disappeared from stealth and collapsed to the ground.
At the same time, Lin Yixin's Ice Flame Slash exploded on the ground. The assassin retreated with a sliver of health left, but Lin Yixin charged forward and killed him instantly!
