Ten or so minutes later, I killed a bunch of Dark Prisoners and reached the end of the corridor. There were three forks in the road, so I decided to take the right path. That way, I would be able to meet up with Lin Yixin as soon as possible.
"Roar roar …"
The fur on the Phantom Wolf King's neck stood on end as it lowered its paws to the ground and let out a low growl. Its eyes stared straight ahead. Clearly, there was some movement ahead.
I immediately sensed it and spurred the Armored Ice Qilin Horse forward. I could hear the sounds of battle coming from the darkness, and I could also see flashes of fiery red light. It was the light of Barrier Break.
A battle!
Without hesitation, I spurred my mount forward. The enemy was out in the open, and I was in the dark. A swift and decisive attack was the way to go!
… …
The light of the Cyan Netherworld Sword tore through the darkness, and when I got closer, I discovered that two magic knights were engaged in a bloody battle. One of them was a magic knight from Hero City, and the other was a player from Candle Dragon. His name was Tiger Leopard Knight, and he was riding a mount that looked like a cross between a tiger and a leopard. He roared and brandished his spear as he fought to a draw with the magic knight from Hero City.
The magic knight from Hero City had more than enough Attack, but his Defense was a little lacking. However, he had a self-recovery skill, so he had the upper hand. After a few successful Barrier Breaks, Tiger Leopard Knight could no longer heal himself. He was in grave danger. "Fuck!
"Damn, other readers should read it normally:!"
Tiger Leopard Knight retreated a few steps before turning around to leave.
However, the magic knight from Hero City laughed loudly. "Is this all the champions of the China server are capable of?
Candle Dragon is the number one guild in China. Are they all cowardly cowards? "
Tiger Leopard Knight abruptly stopped in his tracks and shouted angrily, "You motherfucker! You think I'm afraid of you?
Come at me! It's just death! "
A fierce light flashed across the magic knight's eyes as he swung his broadsword at Tiger Leopard Knight. After a couple of slashes, Tiger Leopard Knight's HP fell below 20%. The battle between magic knights was a long one, but Tiger Leopard Knight's War God Recovery was on cooldown and couldn't heal himself. His health potions were still on cooldown, so his chances of winning were slim. However, he didn't retreat to protect the dignity of Candle Dragon and the China server.
"Die!"
The middle-aged knight slammed a Barrier Break into the Tiger Leopard Knight's shoulder and dealt 18,776 damage. The Tiger Leopard Knight's health instantly fell to rock bottom.
The long spear moved with the wind, shaking the Knight's shoulder. Unfortunately, the Knight still had at least 40% HP left, so I couldn't kill him!
"It's over …" Tigerleopard Knight sighed as he closed his eyes.
…
It was time for me to act. If I didn't, another fearless general of the China server would be killed. This Tiger Leopard Cavalry's equipment was pretty good, and he was a righteous person. Although he was a member of Candle Dragon, an enemy guild, I couldn't just stand by and watch him die.
"Whoosh!"
Four blood-red godly weapons descended from the sky and accurately locked onto the knight's body. The warhorse couldn't break free no matter how hard it tried.
"Damn it, how could there be … a sneak attack?"
It was at this moment that the knight finally realized that someone had arrived. I slowly walked out of the darkness with the Phantom Wolf King in tow. I lowered my Cyan Netherworld Sword and smiled, "Tiger Leopard Cavalry, go! Let's kill this Northern Alliance bastard!"
"Hmm?"
Tiger Leopard Cavalry exclaimed in surprise when he saw me. "Lu Chen, why are you here?"
"Hurry up and kill him! God Binding Art is still active!"
"Got it!"
The Tiger Leopard Knight brandished his spear and killed the Knight several times in a row. In the instant that the Knight died, he dropped a set of battle armor. It was clearly a good set of armor.
I picked up the equipment and Tiger Leopard Cavalry walked toward me. He said, "This is an Earth-grade battle armor. It's 1-star and you might not be interested in it, but you're the one who killed him, so this spoil of war belongs to you."
"Forget it."
I pushed the equipment away and said, "I just used a skill, so I don't need the spoil of war. He fought you for so long, and you were the one who fought."
I shot Tiger Leopard Cavalry a glance and noticed that there was a position under the guild emblem on his shoulder. It was called "Thousand Man Legion Commander". I hadn't expected him to be a Thousand Man Legion Commander in Candle Dragon's main guild!
The Tiger Leopard Cavalry seemed to realize my intention and took a few steps back. He raised his guard and said, "I know that Ancient Sword Dreaming Souls and Candle Dragon are enemies, and I'm very grateful that you helped us. However, the Tiger Leopard Cavalry will never violate a guild declaration of war. Lu Chen, if you want to kill me, then come at me! I won't let myself be captured without a fight!"
I sucked in a deep breath and said, "Hmph, there's no point in killing you. You're not Candlelight Shadow's confidante, so there's no grudge between us. Go. I wish you good luck on the eighth floor. Also, Wind Fantasy and I have reserved the boss of this floor, so you and the rest of Candle Dragon better not try anything funny. Otherwise, don't blame me for being rude. Tiger Leopard Cavalry, you're a good person, and I don't want to make an enemy out of you."
Tiger Leopard Cavalry put down his spear and nodded. "I know. Lu Chen, the Little Heavenly King, is also a respectable person. His courage and courage during the War of Dawn City is worthy of the respect of all China players. However, we're in different factions, and I'm a member of Candle Dragon. The next time we meet, we'll have to fight."
I smiled. "Go. Even if there's a fight, it won't be today. I'm very busy."
"Hehe, alright …"
Tiger Leopard Cavalry spurred his mount forward and rode past me. He slowly disappeared into the darkness of the map.
… …
I gritted my teeth. My coordinates had been exposed, so I couldn't stay here any longer. Even if Tiger Leopard Cavalry didn't come looking for trouble with me, there was no guarantee that someone else wouldn't. The battle against the Heaven-opening Tiger had teleported at least a thousand players out of the map, and I wasn't the only one on the eighth floor. There were at least a hundred more players scattered all over the place.
I glanced at the dozen or so Dark Prisoners in front of me, and an idea popped into my head. I immediately used Earth Escape to slip past them. This way, even if my coordinates were exposed, no one would be able to find me. A dozen or so Level 192 dread-rank mobs were practically killing machines, and the average party wouldn't be able to kill them unless they had super high recovery and stats.
It was at this moment Li Chengfeng's voice came from the guild channel. "Fuck, we miscalculated and Candlelight Shadow stole Profound Heaven Tiger's equipment and Soul Essence!"
Xu Yang: "Yeah, motherfucker!"
Chaos Moon: "Vienna's Sorrow is chasing after Candlelight Shadow and his men. What should we do? Kill Candle Dragon or the Northern Alliance?"
He Yi replied solemnly, "There's no need to waste time. Let's focus on the bigger picture and kill Vienna's Sorrow!"
"Yeah, the guild leader is right. Let's kill Vienna's Sorrow first. Be careful, everyone. Ice Stream Blade's ATK is too high …"
"Mn!"
… …
It looked like the Tiger Soul Essence on the fifth floor wasn't fated to be mine. Candlelight Shadow actually managed to steal it from me. His skill and strength were truly troublesome to deal with. The fact that he managed to steal the Tiger Soul Essence from Li Chengfeng, Vienna's Sorrow, Farewell Song and Luo River God of the Capital was a testament to his strength.
About an hour or so later, we were getting closer and closer to Lin Yixin's orange dot. Suddenly, a Dark Prisoner fell to the ground with a wail and dropped a pair of black legguards. I picked it up and was overjoyed to see that it was another part of the Dark Prison set. This time, it was a pair of legguards. Lin Yixin's Dark Prison set was only missing the Dark Prison Armor. Once she completed the set, the Fruit Knife Goddess would be the first person to equip the Dark Prison set. An Earth-grade set was not something we could afford to lose!
A figure flashed in front of me, and it was Lin Yixin. Above me, the gigantic Ice Dragon Kris let out a low growl. Her hostility toward me hadn't lessened at all.
"Let's go kill the boss!"
I tossed the legguards to Lin Yixin. Almost all of Lin Yixin's equipment was equipped, and her stats had increased by leaps and bounds.
"Hmm …" She was so excited that her cheeks were bright red. "The set's stats are so strong … If we can gather all five pieces of the set, we'll have a much better chance of killing bosses."
"Yeah. There are still a lot of mobs ahead of us. I'm sure we'll get the full set if we keep killing."
"Okay …"
… …
The two of us met up and continued to push forward. The core of the eighth floor of the Soul Suppressing Tower was filled with flashes of light and shadows of swords. Hordes of Dark Prisoners fell to our swords.
Almost 20 minutes later, another Dark Prison Helmet dropped, but the chest armor was nowhere to be seen. The Tiger Cage had already appeared in the distance. The boss of the eighth floor of the Soul Suppressing Tower was inside that cage, and we only needed to kill another 50 or so Dark Prisoners to reach it. I couldn't help but feel excited. Another Immortal Rank boss, and it was Level 192 no less. Not only would our levels skyrocket once we killed it, we might even drop Immortal-grade equipment. The stats of Immortal-grade equipment were just too OP. This was also why Vienna's Sorrow felt invincible after he obtained an Immortal-grade spear and the Divine General Skill, Cold Stream Blade. He was able to slaughter his way through the ranks of the first-rate experts of the China server as if he was invincible.
… …
It took us almost 15 minutes to finish off all the mobs in front of us. When the last Dark Prisoner died, it let out a wail of pain and dropped two pieces of equipment. Lin Yixin and my eyes immediately lit up. This was awesome! This ghost-dancer dropped two pieces of equipment every time it died!
One was a wristguard, and the other was a chest armor. They were both parts of the Dark Prison set!
"Haha, my luck is off the charts …" I couldn't stop smiling when I saw the two pieces of equipment. Then, I passed the chest armor to Lin Yixin and asked, "Quick, take a look. What are its overall stats?"
"Mn."
Lin Yixin accepted the equipment, and with a click, an exquisite chest armor appeared on her body. The obsidian-like black armor looked even more streamlined and sexy on a female player, and her snow-white skin was a stark contrast to the black armor. It was a stunning sight to behold, and the girl in front of me had bright eyes and white teeth. She was so beautiful that I felt like I'd fallen into an abyss, and I couldn't pull myself out of it.
"Hmm, the set stats …"
Lin Yixin waved her hand and the stats of the Dark Prison set appeared in front of us — 2 pieces: Increases Attack by 35%, Defense by 40%, and grants 10% dark attack buff. 3 pieces: Increases Attack by 25% and max HP by 10000. 4 pieces: Increases Attack by 40% and Defense by 50%. 5 pieces: Increases max HP by 40000. Grants passive skill — Dark Dance: 2% chance to activate when attacked. When activated, the user can use Large Dark Slash 10 times in a row...
