At this moment, Su Chen had made up his mind to keep this Gold Devouring Beetle for his own use.
Although the Gold Devouring Beetle already regarded him as its master and seemed to be very respectful towards him, Su Chen was still worried.
Just in case, he took out three bottles of Pet Potion and let the Gold Devouring Beetle consume them.
After drinking the [Pet Potion], the Gold Devouring Beetle became even more respectful, and its eyes were filled with docility.
Su Chen nodded slightly and asked, "Do you know the origin of the miasma?"
After learning about the Gold Devouring Beetle's origin and some ancient secrets, he began to suspect that the miasma outside the Mysterious Heavenly Mainland was set up by someone.
"This layer of miasma was set up by my previous master and a few Saint Level powerhouses together. It was to prevent the invasion of the foreign tribes and protect the human race on the Mysterious Heavenly Mainland," the Gold Devouring Beetle explained.
"I see."
Su Chen thought to himself and continued to ask, "Senior Li Qiuhai died in the ancient war. As his Spirit Pet, how are you still alive?"
Li Qiuhai was a Level 7 Saint Level powerhouse while the Gold Devouring Beetle was only at Level 8. The difference in strength between the two was like heaven and earth.
Logically speaking, it was even more impossible for a Spirit Pet to survive when its master was dead.
"My previous master did not bring me along when he went to the last ancient war. He left me here," the Gold Devouring Beetle replied honestly.
"So you've lived for ten thousand years?" Su Chen clicked his tongue.
It was not that there were no races that could live for 10,000 years, but they were very rare. This showed that the Gold Devouring Beetle was not only strong individually, but also had a much longer lifespan than other races.
"Our lifespan is unlimited. As long as we're not killed, we can live forever. So I've really lived for more than 10,000 years," the Gold Devouring Beetle explained.
The Gold Devouring Beetle had an unlimited lifespan, which was similar to the zombies.
However, the Gold Devouring Beetle's advancement speed was too slow. It took 10,000 years for it to reach Level 8.
Su Chen could even imagine that if the Gold Devouring Beetle did not have an unlimited lifespan, it would be difficult for it to reach a high level.
Gathering his thoughts, he continued to ask, "Rumor has it that even Saint-level powerhouses will lose their lives if they enter this place. Is this true?"
The Gold Devouring Beetle replied with a smile, "That's just a rumor that the previous master deliberately spread in order to intimidate the younger generation. However, it's true that anyone below the Saint Stage can be killed here."
Su Chen pondered for a moment, not realizing that the Gold Devouring Beetles were boasting shamelessly.
With the strange ability of the black fog and the large number of Gold Devouring Beetles, even if they couldn't immediately kill a high grade cultivator, they could slowly exhaust them to death.
But why were Meng Sheng and Bai Ze able to enter and exit this miasma safely?
And from the looks of it, his relationship with the Gold Devouring Beetles wasn't ordinary.
With doubts in his heart, Su Chen asked, "There was a man named Meng Sheng who came here before. I heard that you gave him a lot of fruits?
And what's your relationship with Bai Ze? "
"The armor Meng Sheng was wearing belonged to one of my previous master's subordinates. I thought he was a descendant of that subordinate, so I gave him an opportunity."
"As for Bai Ze, he had the aura of the Five Thunder Fruit Tree. The Five Thunder Fruit Tree belonged to an old friend of my previous master, so I didn't kill him." The Gold Devouring Beetle explained in detail.
Hearing this, Su Chen narrowed his eyes and fell into deep thought.
Liu Qiuhai's old friend should be a Saint-level powerhouse of the Monster Plant Clan, and the Five Thunder Fruit Tree and other Monster Plant Holy Artifacts were very likely to belong to this powerhouse.
Following the fall of this powerhouse in the ancient war, those Monster Plant Holy Artifacts were brought out by Diamond Willow.
