"I've never seen a real Sky Tree before, but according to the books, when a Sky Tree grows up, it will have magical power. A Sky Tree can make a city float in the sky. The legendary Sky Castle can float in the sky because of the Sky Tree," Fathila answered.
Sky Castle!
Damn, so this was the function of the Sky Tree. A Sky Tree could make a city float in the sky!
"So, when this Sky Tree grows up, Catelyn will be able to float in the sky?"
Chen Mo could not help but get excited.
If Catelyn's territory floated in the sky, he would not have to worry about his territory being attacked. The monster attack this time would not be able to threaten Catelyn's territory at all. He could develop slowly without worry!
"Theoretically, yes, but it would only work if this tree is a Sky Tree.
Moreover, even if it's a real Sky Tree, it has to wait for them to grow up before they have enough power to make a city float. It's impossible for a Sky Tree to do this when it's still a young tree. However, when a Sky Tree gets close to a young tree, it will feel as if its body is floating, "Fathila said with uncertainty. He poured some cold water on Chen Mo and told him not to get too excited.
Was this tree really a Sky Tree?
Chen Mo and Fathila both wanted to know.
This tree had been nurtured by the power of the Spring of Elves and grew very quickly in the beginning. Chen Mo and Fathila decided not to leave and just waited beside the small tree.
The small tree grew very quickly. After more than two hours, the small sapling grew another half a meter tall. Even if the two of them had been staring at it from the side, they could clearly feel that the small tree was growing every minute and every second.
At this time, the small tree was already one and a half meters tall. The two of them waited for another two hours. When the small tree became two meters tall, the two of them suddenly felt their bodies become lighter!
"Yes, it's a Sky Tree!"
Fathila shouted excitedly. No matter who it was, they would not be able to hold back their excitement when they saw such a legendary tree. Moreover, Fathila was extremely interested in ancient and mysterious things. Seeing the Sky Tree grow in front of her eyes, she could not hold it in anymore.
"How much does the Sky Tree have to grow to make a city float?"
Chen Mo asked with glowing eyes.
Now that the Expedition Quest had failed, the second monster wave would most likely arrive in a few days. If the Sky Tree could grow before then and allow Catelyn to float in the air, they wouldn't have to worry about the second monster wave. Even the third monster wave wouldn't have anything to do with Catelyn.
Under normal circumstances, it was impossible for a tree to grow in just a few days. However, this Sky Tree was different. Its growth speed was much faster than other trees!
"I don't know." Fatila scratched his little head.
Fatira did not know, but soon, Chen Mo knew how extraordinary the Sky Tree was!
System Notification: You have successfully planted a Sky Tree in your territory, Katrin. City Floating System has been activated!
City floating system activated!
The system notification sounded. Chen Mo was stunned for a moment before he was overjoyed. He hurriedly opened the territory management panel and found the new floating city system.
[City floating system:]
Sky Tree Growth Status: Seedling stage
Sky Tree Growing City: Small
Sky Tree root coverage: Very low
Sky Tree Power Accumulation: 10%
[City floating ability: Extremely low]
There wasn't much data on the floating city system, and the data attributes were easy to understand.
The growth status of the Sky Tree and the size of the city were obviously related to the floating ability of the city. The better the Sky Tree grew, the smaller the city, and the stronger the floating ability of the city.
As for the root coverage, there wasn't much information on the attribute panel. Yes, Chen Mo thought for a while and knew that the reason a city could float in the sky with the Sky Tree was probably because the roots of the Sky Tree covered the entire bottom of the city. The entire city had actually become a part of the Sky Tree, allowing it to float in the sky.
If the Sky Tree couldn't cover a certain extent, the city wouldn't be able to float in the sky. Or it could only float for a short period of time. Once the time was up, the city would fall apart. It would either fall from the sky or disintegrate in the sky.
As for the Sky Tree's Power Accumulation, Chen Mo saw that there were other options. It seemed that when the Power Accumulation reached 50%, he could choose to release the power of the Sky Tree.
What was the use of releasing the power of the Sky Tree?
The attribute panel didn't say, but Chen Mo guessed that the effect was to forcibly let the city gain the ability to float for a short period of time.
Chen Mo didn't know whether this was the case or not for the time being.
The floating ability of the city was the conclusion of the previous series of attributes.
Although the Sky Tree was growing in Katarina, it was still a seedling. Although Katarina was only a small city in the eyes of the system, it didn't have the ability to float.
The Sky Tree had only been planted by Chen Mo for a few hours. It would be strange if it had the ability to float.
After obtaining the Sky Tree, the territory activated the city floating system that he had never heard of before. Chen Mo couldn't help but feel excited.
At least among the player-owned territories, Katarina was definitely a unique existence.
However, the expedition mission had failed, and the game would soon face unknown consequences. Chen Mo was also very worried. Even if the game could continue, would Katarina be able to survive the next monster attack?
Although the Sky Tree had the magical ability to make a city float, it would still die when faced with the attack of monsters.
Once the attacking monsters broke into Katarina and razed Katarina to the ground, the Sky Tree wouldn't be able to survive.
No matter what, he had to protect Katarina and the Sky Tree!
Chen Mo made up his mind.
The second wave of monsters would appear in the next few days. Chen Mo was waiting for news from Bukla, and at the same time, he was also preparing for the second wave of monsters.
Before this, Katarina had already created many defensive puppets. Now that more than ten days had passed, the number of defensive puppets had almost doubled. Under Fatila's full mining of the Everlasting Crystals, they had also harvested a lot. Even if the second wave of monsters appeared, Katarina would be able to hold on for a while.
However, there wasn't much that Chen Mo could do right now. The most important thing was to see how Prague would react. As long as there was news from Prague, Chen Mo would return to Prague to find You Ji.
On one hand, he wanted to confirm the accuracy of the news. On the other hand, he wanted to find You Ji to receive the reward from the previous Merit Mission.
You Ji was only a substitute for the Merit Mission. The reward was given to Balsa from Prague's Gladiator Arena. Balsa and other important people were looking for the High Priest. Since You Ji couldn't find him, Chen Mo could only return to Katarina first.
As for Prague, there was still no news. It wasn't just Prague. Chen Mo was also paying attention to the news from the other game regions. If there was news, the other regions would do the same.
However, the other regions were the same as the China Region. No NPCs came out to say anything.
What made Chen Mo slightly relieved was that the Sky Tree was growing very quickly. By the evening of the second day, the Sky Tree had grown to five meters tall.
The five meter tall Sky Tree had gone from its infancy stage to its growth stage. The coverage of its roots had gone from very low to relatively low. It had also improved by quite a bit.
At the same time, the Sky Tree's accumulation of power had also reached 20%.
However, even though the Sky Tree had undergone great changes in just one day, the overall evaluation of the city's floating ability was still very low. It was impossible for Katarina to float up and escape the threat of the monsters attacking the city.
In just one day, a tree that looked like a banyan tree but was clearly different from a banyan tree appeared in Katarina City. Many players were attracted to it.
In particular, some players discovered that when they stood under the Sky Tree, their bodies would feel very light. It was as if they could leave the ground at any time.
"How magical!"
Many players who came to the Sky Tree were amazed.
Some people couldn't help but start to study this magical tree. They touched the tree here and there, and some even wanted to pluck off the branches of the Sky Tree.
Chen Mo had no choice but to send a guard to guard the Sky Tree to prevent people from messing around.
However, the magical Sky Tree still appeared on the forums and attracted the attention of many players.
Seeing that it was Katarina City again, some people didn't find it so strange.
Other than Red Sand City and Moonlight City, Katarina City was the only small city that survived. It seemed that special things always happened here.
However, the attention of the players was focused on the failure of the Expedition Mission. If that wasn't the case, the Sky Tree would definitely attract more players' attention.
After two consecutive days of rapid growth, the Sky Tree's growth speed slowed down a lot when it reached seven meters. It seemed that the magical power from the Elven Fountain was about to be exhausted.
However, Chen Mo and Fatila both knew that the Sky Tree's growth speed was much faster than normal. If the Sky Tree was given two or three days to grow, it could still grow taller.
Most importantly, Chen Mo felt that in two or three more days, the Sky Tree's accumulation of power would most likely reach 50%.
After the accumulation of power reached 50%, it was time to release the power of the Sky Tree. This might be able to change Katarina.
However, Chen Mo didn't receive any news from Prague, nor did he wait for the Sky Tree's accumulation of power to reach 50%. The second wave of monsters attacked the city after another day!
Just like the previous time, when the second wave of monsters attacked the city, the entire game world was once again shaken by a huge earthquake.
After the earthquake, huge underground cracks appeared everywhere in the game world. Groups of Abyssal monsters emerged from the cracks.
These Abyssal monsters looked similar to the last time, but their levels had increased to an average of Level 60!
…
The first time was even worse.
