On one side was the deep sea of Earth's Pacific Ocean.
On the other side was the edge of the solar system several hundred astronomical units away.
A portal connected the two spaces.
Standing on the other side of the portal, Chen Yu picked up the second rock. After pausing for a moment, he tossed it into the spatial film.
In less than twenty seconds, the rock with a diameter of more than thirty centimeters disappeared as it spun, plunging into a terrifying darkness …
"The direction is correct. The black hole is not far ahead."
Removing his glove once more, Chen Yu glanced at his watch and said, "The research institute has sent me the second calculation result. The gravitational acceleration of the rock falling is 2.2 meters per second, and it is within 150,000 kilometers of the black hole.
There is also a portion of the acceleration I pushed out.
"Then..."
Putting down his watch, Chen Yu looked at the camera and said, "Continue moving forward.
"One hundred thousand kilometers!"
Amidst the bullet comments in the five livestream rooms, Chen Yu calibrated the virtual projection's position and moved the portal 20,000 kilometers away from the black hole.
After receiving the notification that the connection was successful, Chen Yu immediately picked up a one-meter-diameter rock and tossed it into the darkness of the portal.
This time, the rock "fell" at an extremely fast speed!
In just three or four seconds, it disappeared from Chen Yu's and his audience's sight.
[Crap!]
[It's gone?]
[Isn't the acceleration a little too scary?]
[There's nothing to be afraid of. It's not a black hole.]
[After all, it's only a hundred times the mass of Earth.]
[It's clearly a disaster, yet I keep wanting to hit 666...]
[Ditto.]
[We can now confirm the existence of the black hole. Otherwise, it would be impossible for us to miss the planet's surface with such acceleration.]
[Why didn't the black hole's gravitational pull pull the host away?]
[Please rewatch the host's first livestream.]
[I have 300,000 yuan in savings. UP, if you can't save humanity, I'll take my family and enjoy it.]
[What's the point of enjoying it when the world is in chaos?]
[I've already booked a plane ticket.]
[I've already sold my house.]
(Smile)]
[Calm down, you guys...]
...
Inside the aerospace institute, the researchers were getting more and more data, and the results of their calculations were becoming more accurate.
"Mass 7.45625000 E + 26, gravitational acceleration 20.72 seconds..."
"49,000 kilometers!"
"49,000 kilometers!"
"Same here."
After receiving the data, the old director immediately forwarded it, "Mr. King, you are only 49,000 kilometers away from the black hole."
...
Inside the island-building ship, Chen Yu received a message and displayed his watch's screen to the camera. "49,000 kilometers left. The direction is correct."
"This distance is already very close. It's about the same as circling around the Earth's equator."
"Because the flying speed of my protective suit is at least a thousand meters per second in a vacuum, which is much faster than the escape speed at this distance, so I should be able to go a little further."
"Keep going!
20,000 kilometers! "
… Have a safe journey.
Have a safe journey.
Have a safe journey.
Have a safe journey.
He operated the portal to "advance" 20,000 kilometers.
Inside the door, it was still pitch black.
Without a reference, it was as if the distance between them had not been reduced at all.
Whoosh!
The fourth rock flew in, and in the blink of an eye, it vanished without a trace.
The results of the Aerospace Research Institute's calculations were sent over again.
"The rock's acceleration is 59.16 meters per second. It is 29,000 kilometers away from the black hole."
After confirming the distance, Chen Yu swiped his finger across the virtual projection and casually explained, "There are less than 30,000 kilometers left. If Earth is nearby, the terrifying tidal force will instantly tear Earth apart.
In the scale of the universe, it was really close.
Then let's move on … "
"20,000 kilometers!"
After the fifth spatial connection, the Interstellar Portal suddenly lit up with an orange light.
This represented the first level of warning.
The spatial membrane was also being torn apart by a powerful gravitational force …
"There are three levels of warning for interstellar portals: orange, red, and black. If it reaches red, it represents extreme danger, and if it reaches black, it means that a spatial connection cannot be established.
Hence, don't be too nervous about the orange warning now. "
After saying so, Chen Yu picked up the fifth rock and tossed it into the darkness.
Instantly.
The rock disappeared.
The speed at which it was sucked into the black hole far exceeded the upper limit of human dynamic vision.
Subconsciously taking a step back, Chen Yu looked at the camera and asked, "Can you calculate the rock's flying speed?
Also, how far am I from the black hole? "
Ten seconds later, the research institute's reply came through his private message interface. "I am very sorry, Mr. King. We have received the video recorded by your camera, so there isn't much information stored. After slowing it down to a certain extent, it will become blurry, so we can't accurately calculate the rock's gravitational acceleration.
Can you come to the research institute and take away a group of experts and professional equipment? "
Seeing the reply, Chen Yu hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Okay, I'll go now."
After saying so, Chen Yu saved the current spatial coordinates and connected to Beijing's Aerospace Center.
The moment he arrived, he saw over a dozen scientific researchers shivering in the cold wind while holding various tools, equipment, and notebooks.
"Oh!"
"He's here!"
"Hurry up and come in. The lithium batteries can't be frozen."
"Put on the tall frames!
Hurry … "
The dozen or so scientific researchers swarmed over. Before they could even greet Chen Yu, they hurriedly set up their high-frame-rate cameras and various computing devices.
Everyone's faces were flushed with excitement.
Was Earth destroyed?
Was humanity extinct?
Did the universe exist?
In their eyes, what did these things have to do with them?!
A black hole!
This was a black hole!
Moreover, it was a primordial black hole that could be observed up close!
Just obtaining the gravitational acceleration data of different distances was already a revolutionary breakthrough in the physics world …
"M-Mr. King, we're ready," a person in charge said as he walked up to Chen Yu while suppressing his excitement.
"Okay."
After accepting the rock, Chen Yu walked up to the Interstellar Portal and adjusted the spatial coordinates. Under the joint focus of the floating camera and high-frame-rate equipment, he tossed the rock out.
Whoosh —
The rock disappeared into the darkness, and not even a trace of light could be seen …
Beep!
The high-frame-rate camera buzzed, and the researchers immediately derived the video data and began nervously calculating.
"Gravitational acceleration is 593.65 meters per second, a = GM/R2 … 6.6726 multiplied by 10 to the negative tenth power, M-/kg2 …"
"M = 5.965 × 10 to the twenty-fourth power, kg multiplied by 125 …"
"The results are out!"
A middle-aged researcher jumped up and shouted excitedly, "The distance to the black hole is 9154730 meters!
It's accurate! "
"The black hole's mass is also accurately calculated," another researcher said, breathing rapidly. "7.45625331 E + 26!"
"The escape velocity is also calculated. At a distance of 9154730 meters, the escape velocity is 104255.92 meters per second."
"100,000 meters per second?!" Chen Yu was stunned. "Doesn't that mean I won't be able to take it out once I enter?"
Hearing this, the researchers were also stunned for a moment. Immediately afterward, a woman hurriedly explained, "Mr. King, that's not the case. You have fallen into the escape velocity error.
Escape velocity refers to the speed at which you can be thrown out without momentum.
Without momentum!
If the thrust continues, even if you are far from reaching this speed, you can still slowly fly out of the black hole.
It will be fine as long as your flying speed is greater than your falling speed. "
"I see."
Realization dawned on Chen Yu. He then said, "Then, I should be able to continue moving forward, right?"
"Yes, yes, yes!"
14
All the researchers nodded like chicks pecking at rice, their eyes shining as they stared at Chen Yu.
"Then …"
Chen Yu vaguely felt that something was amiss. However, he still braced himself and asked, "How many kilometers should we continue moving forward?"
"Another 5,000 kilometers!"
"I-Isn't that too much?"
"No." Stepping forward, the middle-aged researcher patted his chest and said, "Please, you must absolutely trust us!"
Chen Yu: "…"
…
(Note: All data is personally calculated according to the black hole's mass. Every 0.1 has been calculated many times to ensure its authenticity.
Thank you for your "brainpower" and "computing power." I hope it's not a wrong number. Hahaha …)
